    posted a message on force stand still (space bar) weird behaviour

    Hello everyone. I've searched a bit on an issue i'm having with my force stand still bound to my space bar. Every once in a while, it just stops working in D3. Shift still works and my space bar is definitely not worn out (tried a different keyboard). I can play for a couple hours (no reboot) and come back later and play again and force stand still just doesn't work.


    I'm pretty sure it something stupid like windows sticky keys or something (tried full screen, windowed mode, rebinding to anything else than space bar and it works, etc) but i can't figure out what it could be. Trying to push HC before the season ends but can't do it without the control of force stand still.


    Anyone has any clue on what could be the issue ?

    Yeah, might as well try it yourself. Theorycrafting for M6 weapons seems to be split at the moment anyway. When I picked up DH a few weeks ago the consensus was Etrayu with the 2.84 breakpoint is best in slot, and many still say it is. Now there are people saying calamity with the 4.16 breakpoint is the best in slot and the sacrifices made to other stats are worth it. There are also people who say a 2h crossbow with the 2.84 breakpoint beats everything because the damage range of 2h crossbows is so good.
    The reason people say different weapons are "best-in-slot" is because different weapons are good for different things.

    Etrayu is the best weapon for solo play. Why? Because you can reach 2.84 comfortably without sacrificing any big damage stats, and cold is the preferred build in solo since you need the slow from frost arrow to proc Cull/Trapped reliably.

    With absolutely perfect gear (calamity with 7% ias, 7% WH, 7% lacunis, 7% rorg, 20% rucksack, 50%/7% taskers, 10% paragon without taking away cc/chd), the 4.15 calamity might be better, but this is completely out of the question for nearly all demon hunters, so it's usually not even taken into consideration.

    2.84 xbow setups is the best for group play. Why? Because you usually want to play Fire in group (So etrayu is out), and reaching the breakpoint becomes easy with a witch doctor that uses Starmetal Kukri for 100% big bad voodoo uptime. This secures 20% extra ias that you can not get in solo play, which means the higher breakpoints are reachable without sacrifices on gear. This is why xbows are preferred over bows in this scenario.

    So you can see there isn't just a one-size-fits-all answer to bis weapon, as it depends what you are doing, and what you have available to you.

    So best in slot usually comes down to this:
    Solo: Cold build w. 2.84 etryau or cold build with 4.15 calamity ( perfect gear required)
    Group: Fire build w. 2.84 xbow or lightning build with 4.15 helltrapper (requires voodoo for both)

    i'm using a calamity with the 2.84 bp atm, didnt find an etrayu yet, y play in groups but without a WD so i think its good still overall for the buff to everyone else !

    i tried all the variations. Still the same... unless pirhana is actually hitting at that moment, there is no 15% bonus. I'll recheck to be sure, but can you also ? tyvm

    edit: nvm i did what you said, and it seems to hold. Never knew it had to be applied before the dots. Maybe im not the only one so i'll leave that thread up anyways ! tyvm !

    Hello all!

    I've been paying more attention to my dots lately as jade, since i move stuff around in 2.1

    I noticed that the dmg amplification from the piranhado only lasts for the time it hits the target.

    for example, my dots hit for 17 mill, then 19 when pirhana hits, but 4 seconds later, it goes back to 17 mill.

    Has it always been like that ? i thought creeping death, with i have, made thge buff last a while, almost forever !

    that is what i am reading. So for a heavy + physical build it would be best to avoir another elemental type rune ? You'd stay with the +physical one, maybe the one that gives 3 more dagger weilder fetishes ? tyvm

    I've had someone "confirm" this observation earlier tonight.

    i've been obliterated by spell that would normally almost not hurt me. I played my pet doc a little and my fetishes, dogs and army were dying almost instantly in t5, when i can normally do T6 without any issue. I even slapped a serpent for an extra 30% dmg reduction and still got recked in T5 with 16 mill thougness (and the pets also)



    I was wondering if anyone also noticed some spells doing way more dmg that they should be (or have they been fixed?)

    Some molten/incinerator explosion packs seem so OP now i spend 10 minutes trying to kill a T5 pack while i would just plow through them before 2.1

    any of you had any experiences like that ?

    I was playing with the furnace (3.7k dps) , for fun, and my dots hit sooo much harder on elites, even without a socket on it.

    30 mill ticks instead of 20 mill with a 2450 dps 1h (mad monarch) + oh with 12% haunt dmg on it

    and that new wrath of the bone king seems cool also with a potential 30% cold dmg ?

    any thoughts ?

    I just did a t5 normal rift with my pet doc, 12 mil thoughness + serpent, and all my pets, including myself, were just dying so much.



    i dont know what's going on but it defenetly didnt feel like t5.



    I normally never die on t5 even if i drop my thougness to like 9 mill without serpent... what was so weird.



    anyone else ?

    Pretty self explanatory. When i get a 2h i almost never look at the stats nor bonuses.



    I was wondering if there were any 2h suited for a DoT build that i could have missed.

    I dont know if there are any WD specific 2h like there are 1h.

    Any tips ? Or will nothing change ?

    I'm leveling my Wiz atm and i found a new 1h that i thought would be a big DPS upgrade, but it seems its not the case (its actually a downgrade)

    but i really dont understand why. Could anyone explain it to me plz ?

    tyvm, here is a screenshot comparing the 2 items. I assumed the 2k dps weapon with + int and + AS would beat the other one hands down ! why not ?

    This is the primary reason why I bought a crossbow with frost to give to Scoundrel. Equip him with a frost damage weapon, set him up with to fire 3 arrows at once, and collect the rewards from the CoTW bonus.

    Or use entrangling shot to hit 4 monsters and blow through them with Ball Lightning... kills things pretty quick.

    i assume it also works with our own weapon as i play with the templar most of the time ? is fo i have some shopping to do ! :) tyvm !
