Actually, it's called "auction fever," which is a legitimate term in the auction world. Some people just get so into winning an item, they don't care how much they pay. They just want to beat out the competition. Snipers with auction fever are the absolute worst, for the sake of their own "finances" as well as other people who are trying to win items.
But then if they win through overpowering others financially, most often they'll suffer from "buyer's remorse" after they cool off. Which is why many people stick to proxy bidding "20 hours before" the auction ends to avoid overpaying as well as getting inflicted with auction fever.
...Oh, I remember this time I saw an absolutely awesome Vile Ward a few months ago. It started off with like a 100M bid, but I knew it was worth around 750M to 1 billion at most. So I put in 1.25 billion as my proxy bid when it had about 12 hours remaining just to be safe.
I woke up in the morning about half an hour before the auction ended and kept watch just for fun before I had to leave for work. With 10 minutes remaining, it was at 500M, which I expected. At five minutes, it was at 700M. At 2 minutes, it was at 900M. Now I started getting a little concerned.
I ended up paying around 1.2 billion because someone (some people) kept bidding at the last few seconds. Sigh.

I must know.

It was just an example. My point is that no matter how much the game improves, there will always be something someone out there is displeased with. I like where the game is going and the improvements so far. But there's still going to be something wrong with the game in 2018. I hate comparing D2 and D3, but look at D2. There are still problems with that game.

Yep, I just noticed this last night.
I can't recall how many times the game was loading up and the moment I start, I see a cross and "You are Dead" with a swarm of Horde Phasebeasts romping on my corpse.

Set up lanes to defend and just kill, kill, kill, kill. Rewards fall upon the completion of each "phase." Game ends when everyone dies or whatever needs to be defended gets wrecked by mobs... and just to make it fun, it can go on for 300 phases or something.
Old-school Starcraft and Warcraft mod players should know about Hero Line Wars and those Tower Defense games.
