Levelling does take long in my opinion, because even 120 hours is a long time at any standard, not only do you have your base lvl, but you also have your job lvl's which are equally important if you want to make some easy cash. when I'm playing a game I don't want to do the same thing for 120 hours, I want to do a verity of things so that when I've been playing for the whole day I can say to someone I done many things instead of saying "I increased by two levels today, and that's it.

The first time I played WoW I used to come online at the same time as another person, and we would go questing and lvling up for 12 hours, and thats the difference for me, I met loads of people on Diablo 2 (about 6 years ago) and I hardly ever gamed with them, we would just chat, and I'm still friends with them to this day, but I met hundreds of people on WoW, and I don't speak with a single one of them.

I don't really think blizzard would aim WoW at hardcore gamers directly, they want money, and the majority of gamers ain't hardcore. They aimed the game at anyone, and they're hoping for the casual gamers to play, because it takes them a lot longer to get to lvl 60, which means more money for blizz.

If I had the money I would start my account up again, but I wouldn't play it to Grind, I'd play it to have fun, because that's what games should be about.

Diablo and Diablo 2 was repetitive as well, tho. Use the same spells over and over to kill the same monsters over and over... Only in MMORPGs quests are bit more important (among other things). I wouldnt want D3 as a MMO, though. Better to finish the trilogy and then make such a game.

Yes, of course it is, but you could say that any game is repetitive with combat (I'm pretty sure it would also be repetitive in real combat), I was talking more about the quests and the whole getting to lvl 60.

Diablo gives each quest a unique objective, but in WoW it mainly involves: Collect 10...... Kill 25....... Speak to Thorin...... they are basically the only variations in quests. It's too much filler, just like many music albums today, they have one chart topping song, and the rest is all filler.

Also with rare item drops, the rarest items will never really drop unless you fight bosses, which involves getting a good group together and playing for 2 hours trying to get to a dungeon boss, I don't like this focus on teamplay, not everyone is a team orientated person.

Lastly the lvling up thing takes too long, I played WoW for about a month and got to lvl 60, but I was playing about 12 - 16 hours a day, what about people who play for say a couple of hours a day? they hardly get any enjoyment because they will only ever get to lvl 60 after about 8 months, when I play a Final Fantasy game, I can get to the top lvl in a few days, and during that I've played a game which I've enjoyed 90% of the time, but with WoW I've only enjoyed it 50 or 60% of the time, because it's too repetitive and becuase there's not much to look forward to other than getting to lvl 60.

I might be being too critical, but that's how I feel and that's why I wouldn't want it to be an MMORPG unless they can veer away from these problems.

I would rather have small servers like in D1 + D2, 8 - 16 players would be great, and I would pay for it, but I'm scared that if it becomes a MMORPG that it will be just like every other MMORPG, bland and repetitive. I don't want to walk into a field in D3 and see the same tree I saw 5 seconds ago! I want to see different shaped trees, I want to see more detail in games, not just a rushed job of copy and paste.

To be honest, the gaming world is getting much worse than it is getting better, games are changing to be more simple and easy, they lack a story and excel in graphics and many of the features are just cloned from other games, they try to make games for all audiences to make money, but they're ruining games in my opinion.

I will sit down and play some of the old games just for their features, music, gameplay and story, but I wont even touch some of the games they make today, because 90% of those games are just not worth wasting my short life on to play.

I wouldn't like the idea of it being a MMO, for a few reasons, one being that in the main, MMORPG's have no continuing story, which is one of the ways i personally rate a game because most of the best games are story driven. They have it free roam, which is cool in a way, but most games are too based around free roaming which makes it boring when your running about looking for something to do. not only that, but when I first saw WoW I thoght it would be packed full of amazing cut scenes but there's only one cut scene in the whole game, I was fooled, I love Blizzards cut scenes and world of warcraft only had one :'(

Also for a last reason, I think it's pointless having so many people in a server, I would rather have NPCs. At least the NPCs would have some character.

'>I agree with Guardian because alot of people like diablo how it is and they should keep it the way it is but just make it more fun and scary. One thing they should change from d2 is that it wasnt scary at all d1 was.
yeah i think D1 was more scary than D2 because you moved slower, the music was more eerie, and the quests were more gruesome and hellish to D2, also the whole game was based inside (as opposed to D2 which is mostly based outside)

I also agree with keeping the game similar to the others because so many sequels have taken the path to "originality" and failed so horribly.

I like the idea of acts. it gives a good transition for story advancement. although i like the idea somebody passed about multiple towns or camps in one act. that would provide more types of goals for play (escort missions, spy, raid the caravan, even messanger service serve a purpose)

i completely agree, there should be like about 4 or 5 towns (outposts) in each act.

What do you all think? should Diablo 3 have acts (act 1, act 2, act 3, like in diablo 2) or should it just be one whole story with none?

I think it should be broken into acts.

posted a message on Duplacating items????????
    Quote from HeartlessKiller »
duping doesnt work, they scam yall and ull never get ur account back. No such thing as duping, noone can do that. It is immensly hard to hack but in open battlenet it is fairly easy.

Do not fall for the following scams

Droping your items and pressing alt+f4 ....itll log u out it wont dupe ur item, then after ur gone the guy who said it dupes will take ur stuff

Typing /dnd level (password goes here) .... the person will messege u and it will be like to his screen "the person is afk because (password)... hell see password and steal ur account.

    Safe Xfering Tips

    .Xfer with a friend
.Don't xfer in rogue encampment in front of a stranger who pretends to be afk...hes secretely waiting in a game called im afk waiting for someone to drop stuff and when they log out hell take.
.if u have a friend u dont know very well xfer at a waypoint, suggestions: far oasis, black marsh, kurast bazar, frigid highlands, etc.

    Thank You, you're best killingpal,
    HeartlessKiller

I got scammed once, i was very stupid (still am) but yeah anyway, he said "hold this item and let me kill you and it will dupe the item" so i thought, ok, cant be any harm in it......

bad idea, after the second time he killed me all my equips dropped on the floor and he ran off with em :( i had such nice stuff, luckily i had a good friend who helped me out with some new stuff. (this happened to me fairly early on when i started)

posted a message on Loved the good old days of classic D2 :)
It was great! i started playing about 2 or 3 months before the expansion came out, and i was loving it! met lots of cool people made a clan and stuff (there wasnt very many clans back then if i remember correct) and it was all about sitting in a cow game getting the exp :D then id start to join in, and then when i was high enough lvl just do Mephi runs and get some cool stuff :D serious, i would be on "Mephidie0072" when i had finished :P but i only ever found 1 SOJ :( (it was in a chest near mephi :P) back in the good old days when a Bonesnap was Uber :D

i didnt play for long(about 4 months, but non-stop addictivness, i was sleeping for about 4 hours a day, and straight back on), the ISP cut us off and i couldn't play for about 3 years :(

then i came back and, well, it was a bit different :(

i liked the expansion, it was ok. it was the patches i didnt like, making the cows give hardly any exp and making items less likely to drop :( it ruined the game for me, i didnt mind doing baal runs for exp and items, but it just wasnt the same as doing mephi runs and cows :(

ohhh i wish it was back in the old days.
