So... are they not buffing sets like Vyr's, MotE, Shadow?

Hello again, my nephalem brethren!
I haven't played since before Season 1 ended and was wondering what everyone's opinion was about the state of the game?
I'm mostly wondering:
- Legendaries with new powers: Better or still kinda worthless?
- Are the improved sets more useful and polished?
- How's the power creep? It seems like people are clearing GR50+ pretty regularly...
- Any other improvements that stand out to you.
Please let me know as I am thinking about installing the game again.

I have all classes to 70 and are at least T2 ready. My problem is that when me and my friends group up (almost) every Wednesday night, the question "What do you guys wanna do?" always comes up and their response is usually a very unenthusiastic, "Um... I don't care." Really pains me because they haven't had the experience of completing a set yet or getting a decent Hellfire Amulet. If bad goes to worse, I'm gonna have to join a different clan because I still REALLY enjoy my time in Sanctuary. It just sucks because these are my childhood friends and I want to play with them, ya know?

My situation is that I have a Barb that is perfectly capable of handling T6 and can do GR30 as of right now. But my other 3 friends are having a hard time finding set pieces or even any good legendaries, especially as of late. It feels like the drop rate has slowly gone down over time. Regardless, all that we do is regular rifts because that is what they feel most comfortable doing, but I can TELL that they are getting tired of the game because they are not progressing very much anymore. Should Greater Rifts be a higher priority so that they can level up LGems? I don't know if you get more legendaries/sets from Greater Rifts now or not. Overall, I guess I'm really frustrated that all the game has to offer is bounties, rifts, G.rifts and they seem to be losing interest...
If anyone has any tips of what to do to mix things up or what you find to be most entertaining, please let me know.
Thanks.

I've been in similar situations. What I would do, personally, is roll the Dex to CHD. Then, sacrifice a Vit roll on a defensive slot for Int. That way it balances out somehow.
Or... Give them to a Monk and try and make a buffed up Mystic Ally build. lol

It seems like the only effective way is to farm lower greater rifts (20-25) and rush to the GR guardian. Is this what other people do or is there something else I can do? I'm trying to help gear up the other members of my group.

I swear the drop rates start to diminish the longer they go without conducting maintenance. And the Kadala changes suck... I have the same luck as I did before the blood shard change, but with less gamble attempts...
Anyone else feel this way?

Yeah, Raekor+Boulder was really popular pre-2.1 patch. I am trying to work with a new build that helps synergy with it like before.
::Edit:: lol, didn't catch that you were actually making a "funny haha"

The new Heart Slaughter seems like a good choice! Is the 29% Elite damage and 130% CritDmg loss worth the switch though?

Yeah, its getting frustrating. Its awesome to see 120M crits from one attack on Elites, but I feel like I balanced my gear well enough that I should be performing a little better than I am. I kinda think I should farm for a Boulder Breaker or Fury of the Vanishing Peak and roll Fire EQ/IK/Seismic.

I use Cave-In so it already pulls in targets. Plus a a Physical ESS of Johan.

I am currently running a Physical EQ/IK/Boulder Toss build. I have a 300th with 47% Ancient Spear damage and +14% on both boots and helm. +29% Elite on Sun Keeper and +15% on Unity. Also +40% Physical from Amulet and Strongarms. Dumped paragon into Max Fury to boost its damage too. With the fury geneating Ancients and Earthen Might passive it takes about 10-15 seconds to unload a maxed out boulder at 182 Fury.
And it just feels like I can't push past Grift 23.
Should I trade in my Sun Keeper/300th for a Boulder Breaker or switch from Physical to Fire/Cold? I love this build but I can't push past T5 right now.
What is your opinion on Boulder Toss?

So if my understanding is correct, the weapon damage won't change physical damage skills by a total 1:1 conversion, but instead only provides a little bonus damage?
