Zero(pS) posted a message on [Wold First 60] Team recruitingMaybe not. It is possible that dedicated hardcore strangers would fare better than "supposedly hardcore" friends.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I've got about 10 friends who call themselves hardcore diablo fans, and yet they know very little about the game, didn't know when the beta went live, didn't follow blizzcon videos, and probably won't play past Normal/Nightmare. There are only 2 I'm positive will play D3 hardcore, the others I'm not so sure.
I'm sure if I signed in to help you in your task, I'd be a very dedicated and capable teammate, but alas I can't. I really want to enjoy those early moments with some buddies.
Good luck with it, anyways. -

Jamoose posted a message on Crafting vs. DropsPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from vastv
I think adding crafted items to D3 was a mistake and I agree with the OP. Crafting such as adding gem slots to items is fine, but making entire items from scratch takes away from finding gear on the field. Either one or the other will offer better gear which would make one or the other less desirable. Crafting should have been a supplementary functionality to the found items.
But when your crafting ability pretty much depends on drops of various items... Then it kinda solves the problem doesnt it?
I think that the crafting system is an excelent replacement for the gambling system in d2 and a great addition to the drop system as a whole. Your ultimate gear will probably consist f both crafted items and dropped legendaries / sets. -

Did he have a favourite class of choice? I think it would be a great and fitting tribute to max out a character (say barbarian if he liked barbarians) under his name/avatar on hardcore and get it the best gear and then let it die and forever be deposited in the hall of heroes.
The best gear bit is probably unreasonable, but all the rest is what I would do.
I was initially thinking it was a bit weird to let a character die... but you're right. +1 to this idea for sure. Something that represents him. If you can find gear (doesn't have to be the best, as already mentioned) that you think represents him, get the character to max level (60 should be much, much more obtainable than 99!) and then retire him there as a tribute... that'd be awesome. I'd love to see a screenshot of him when you're done, :D.
Alternatively, if there are any personality quirks or traits you can think of, you could always try to focus on those. i.e. start a cracked/worn item library or similar, heh.
Best of luck mate. -

On to topic: The first thing that springs to mind is to make a run through one of the acts where you force yourself to pickup and vendor all white and grey items lol. And make sure to explore every tidbit of each area in that act so you dont miss a single one! -

The_Choob posted a message on Name In Game!A lot of my characters in the Beta share the same name. I wish they would have exclusive names. I think it kinda takes away from the whole naming process because you tend to care less since someone could just copy you.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

Feel sad as much as you wish, it but clarifies your own innocence to this world not knowing what "sad"ness is
the way you associate it's nerdiness to a degree of sadness is very childish of you, regardless of the scale in which you most likely were lightheartedly joking, as nearly everything online is.
The degree in which you pursue gaming is most likely beyond sad(the way you see it to be)
I personally think putting 1-10 minutes into changing the settings of one's own computer to his own amusement is much less sad than choosing to study and spend years just to fullfill one's own desires for he couldn't imagine any other life other than the one he had as a child(studying "Game Design") Bravo to you, may you fullfill my children's dreams for years to come
don't forget, all of this is simply a lighthearted joke-

just as a band, a company grows and better utilizes it's best intuition towards making a great "hit" of a game
again and again people have said this...but this time it's for u... "have you even played the game yet?" no? ok problem solved(yes the full game)
but if u just wish to vent your own generalized view on things...i guess if it makes u feel better, sure go ahead=P

We used to argue about rumors of whether diablo 3 would be made, for the past 10 years. Diablo 3 has been the game we had both been waiting our entire lives for.
Since then we have played many games online, awaiting the day diablo 3 would come... the day the game came out we used to imagine making multiple account and just save the most epic names we could think of(before it was announced that names would no longer be "unique")
I would post my huge emotional meaningful story filled with all our endeavors...but im sure very few would read through all that ^^
This January a speeding car lost control over a raised median, hit, and killed my best friend on impact.
For awhile, I didn't think I'd even try playing without him.
It wasn't until the 15th when presales came out that I decided that instead I would be playing with a passion, opening night i've requested the days off work and i'll be playing for 2 days straight at least. Eating our favorite all nighter foods. I will use his signature names for champs etc
anyway, onto the point of this topic
I know the gaming community can be a rather creative, and ingenuitive lot, so this is me asking everyone as to what I could do in memory of my best friend while playin d3.
RIP Alex, Hydrocity, Run Nukka, raniac, Banjo_Kazooie etc
This has turned into more than a game for me
Blizzard, you da best
So far we got
-Favorite foods,
-Champ Naming,
-after the diablo soundtrack gets old make a memorable playlist
-gather cheap crap...for the hell of it,
-Max Hardcore Character with his name and let him die
