Hey guys , after a long break from diablo 3 i decided to come back and try hc out ! so i rolled a wd currently level 59 hopefully i will ding 60 in few hours.i have been searching for recent hcwd tips but i failed so im asking my fellow wd community for a safe wd build viable in hc inferno that can be efficent with out über items. Please share your knowledge with me ! Thank you :Thumbs Up:
ps : i saw that cloud of the bats build , its concerning me highly to run into melle range of mobs in hc
Some people get a skorn and use: Acid cloud - Acid rain as their main AoE Skill. I find this gameplay extremely boring and an argument can be made that it is actually not as safe as how i set my WD up.
I do the usual Pickup radius build with thing of the deep Mojo, and grave injustice passive, and zombie bears as main attack. This way you can use your skills more effectively in battle and are more likely to have spirit walk off cooldown in very bad situations.
I cannot comment on a skorn build that also does bears because i've never done it, since i can't find a decent skorn with lifesteal on it. I think it might not be a very good idea though.
Anyway, in terms of gearing wether you do zombie bear or acid rain the only difference between the two is the weapon choice. Skorn for acid rain and my weapons (mana knife and THing of the deep) for zombie build. As for the rest of the gear you should aim to get:
3.5k total armor
at least 750+ to all res
50k dps
50k-60k total life
That kind of setup should be good enough for mp1 Act 1, get more all res for the later acts.
Although a little bit of attack speed might be useful to cast bears faster and leave faster, i don't recommend getting any more than " a bit" because you will have mana problems if you do. I do recommend, however, getting a lot of crit chance and crit damage like every other damn build in this game lol.

Working with adobe and/or java is like pushing a paper clip against a building and expecting it to move...
my build can do MP2 act 4... more or less, you have to decide what kinda weapon you're gonna use.. if you're gonna do a 2 hander, my build works like a charm... if you're gonna do a 1 hander, well... my build would probably still work... more or less i use plague bats for elites, and use ghost bomb to keep my mana regen up, but otherwise i use acid cloud... the build is pretty fun as i've not gotten extremely bored, but honestly just go with what you like... it's overall solid, i've had a few close calls, but i'm a WD since day 2 and am able to stay alive in any situation... i've started to not enjoy using bears just because of how sporadic they are, sometimes they go where they're supposed to, sometimes a monster stands behind you and they go everywhere... but take a look at my HC WD and go from there

when you get in sticky situations with a lot of monsters attacking you, are you ever prevented from casting spells due to your slow weapon? (Sometimes this happens with rend on my barb)

negative... my dude can take a few hits.. that's part of how my WD is built. being surrounded by guys is when i strive... acid rain slams my health max, and then i channel plague bats to hit large groups, which in turn insta-heal me when i start to lose health... i've only had like 2 sticky situations, and that's because i misclicked, and spirit vessel proc'd when it shouldn't have. i go into a fight by tossing a ghost bomb for the regen, and cast acid cloud twice, then another ghost bomb, that'll give me enough mana to channel bats. what keeps me alive is the LoH and acid cloud, but the plague bats are enough to let me stand in anything and everything while burning down elites. though of course, 4+ arcane beams, plagued and desecrator i simply shift over, ghost bomb, and continue channeling, OR hit spirit walk so i can kill them and move on
One thing people often overlook is the damage absorbtion Zombie Dogs rune. You would obviously ignore it if you run with Sacrifice, but otherwise I would say a free passive %10 damage aborbtion would be a nice extra layer of protection.
Also, FWIW, I would avoid ANY melee-range build until you're comfortable with your survivability. The risk of dying just to see some big numbers is NOT worth it.

The incoming damage is noticeable as soon as my dogs gets wiped. The Life Link rune is a terrific mitigator. Combined with Jungle Fortitude passive, the damage reduction gets near to the melee classes inherent reductions.
