Considering the book actually is released, this is gearing up to be Blizzard's biggest trolling attempt yet
I can tell you I am complaining to Amazon! I'll see why they pushed back and keep posted about it.
Book got pushed, no news on D3 release... Gosh... Can we just have a bit more information to stop making us anguish.

And my friends wonder why I don't pre-order things anymore. Yes, I'll give you my money now and you give me nothing, but will hopefully give me the item I want somewhere down the line, but meanwhile you get to keep my money.
With interest rates near zero, it's hardly THAT big a deal I guess, but I'm still offended by the whole concept.

First off... who cares if they get the money now or later...they get the money.. your point... I dont see it?
Second, amazon does not charge you for preorders ^_~ (at least with amazon prime)
ON top of which, amazon has a preorder price thing. I've preorder something for 29.99, it turns out it ended up being 39.99 but I had already pre-orded, I got to buy it at the 29.99 price...

That's why I don't pre-order from Gamestop or EB Games. Amazon, on the other hand, won't charge you a cent until the item actually ships.

I recieved my book on December 12, as planned. Did anyone else get theirs?
I'm guessing you pre-ordered from Blizzcon, right? Other people who went to Blizzcon have received their copies, but only those people and people who were sent copies to review.
Update: The original rumor (January 10th) was debunked by Insight Editions publicity manager on Sunday, Dec 11th after I contacted her.
As of that Sunday, all was on track for release on December 13th. Out of the blue, and unrelated to the original rumor, there was a delay in shipment. Insight Edition reports via twitter the book will be sent out on Dec 16, or before Dec 19th tops.
Well Amazon.ca just told me it was not being released on December 13th. After seeing my order being pushed back to February-March 2012, I contacted Amazon and here is the answer. So I guess if the books goes out in fact in 3 days it explains a lot.
Thanks for writing to us at Amazon.ca.
I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused you due to this item.
I have checked our website and found that the item “Diablo III: Book of Cain “has not yet been released.
Our latest information indicates that the expected release date is “January 10, 2012".
While we are confident that copies will be made available, we cannot provide more precise information about the fulfillment of the order, since we rely on the publisher for release date information.

I spent an hour IMing with customer service for Amazon, and got exactly nowhere. Best I could get is that they hadn't received any updates on the release date, and they didn't have the book in stock yet.
If this is the case, it seems like Amazon would know about it. I hate it when companies aren't upfront about delays and problems...
Checked my pre-order of Book of Cain yesterday on Amazon - still supposed to be delivered December 15th (free two day shipping) as it has been reading for months. Oh wait - not months - because not too long ago it was being listed as delivered by 11-25-11.
Just checked today and it says to be delivered January 12th of 2012.
I canceled my pre-order. I'm ASSUMING that its in retail stores now or on the 15th as that was the original date of release. And since everyone with a microphone and a voice that speaks about Blizzard games HAS ONE ALREADY - than I would, again, ASSUME that Blizzard and the companies that work for their PR department would be on the ball to make sure those items get out to the general public, in a RESPECTABLE amount of time from those elites, who again, blather on a microphone about their games...
If you haven't guessed: I'm joining the rage train and saying that I am now - OFFICIALLY - pissed off at the way Blizzard handles their PR and Marketing. Diablo 3 has been so mismanaged that the talking monkeys who announce anything about this game, should be told to shut up. But rest assured - I get near DAILY emails about WoW and how I can play for free for a week, 10 days, a month, until I'm level 20, any day that ends in the letter Y, please play WoW again. They never seem to lately miss a beat with that dead pile of shit. Diablo 3? "I wanna keep touching it - I don't wanna let anyone else touch it - blah, blah, RMAH, blah, blah".
If I were the angry know it all person that I am right now - AND, I worked at Blizzard, I would go to my bosses office and say "hey - guess what. You are fucking this shit up bad."
Let me check...blood pressure returning to normal. There. Mission Accomplished.
EDIT: I just want to add one more thing. The reason that I (and would imagine a great many others) get super E-peen pissed off about this crap is that the Book of Cain is representative of a small victory that most of us can share - in the battle for Diablo 3. Its something we can get our hands on, that is timely and relevant to this game and we can feel like we are a part of the action. This may mean nothing to you lucky folk that are dicking around in the beta and telling the rest of us to settle and chill. When they can't even get the release date of this book right - that's worthy of a slap in the PR departments face.

INSIDE EDITION is to blame, THEY are the ones haven issues getting this stuff out, WAS A LAST SECOND THING. they are getting them out THIS WEEK, by FRIDAY AT THE LATEST.
People take a dang chill pill and stop getting mad at everything you can.
Blizzard has nothing to do with this delay, and can do nothing about this delay, and knew nothing about this delay, it , was, the, publisher.
WoW isn't dead yet, killing Deathwing is fun I fully agree when the Pandas come, then it's dead and hopefully D3 will be released by then lol. Oh, and SW:TOR starts today so I guess my lack of presence to play D3 in any form or read any lore from the BoC does not matter!

get mad at them , and stop QQing at blizzard.
Blizzard chose IE as the publisher. Perhaps if they chose a more established and/or reliable publisher, everything would have gone smoothly. Just because Blizzard isn't publishing this themselves doesn't mean they are innocent here. At the very least, they could be communicating with IE and the fans who expected their orders to ship and stores to be stocked yesterday.
I like how people act like a baby wanting candy , my book was delayed also, I can wait shit happens
exactly, Ive never seen so many people get mad due to real life happening... it blows my mind. (Mainly at the part of getting made at blizzard about this... It really has to be the "new thing to do")

But this whole thing is BS. They announced a release date of 12/13 (http://www.cisionwire.com/insight-editions/r/diablo--iii--book-of-cain,c9193097) and then ON THE RELEASE DATE they put out a little tweet saying "oops, yeah, I guess it is delayed." WTF? Blizzard really picked a good publisher, huh.
Yay.

This is somewhat comforting. I hope it's correct.

this is only a guess, but it seems to me like IE is not communicating with its disturbers very well at all.
Come the 19th I guess we will find out.

Ok. Here is the deal with Diablo III: Book of Cain. Yes. The book came in late. Amazon is literally loading their trucks today in TN.
Other tweets from them indicate that they expect all preorders to ship by next week at the latest, if I'm interpreting them correctly.
