So with the item database being updated next week it’s important to keep in mind that what we’re going to have on the website are the items that are actually possible for us to show. If Diablo is about nothing else it’s about randomization, and Diablo III is no different. While all items have some variance, either in their armor range or the affixes they roll, the vast majority of items (~99%) are entirely random. It’s also true that the entirely random items are going to be among the most coveted, and therefore the focus of the majority of the item hunt. What you’ll see on the site next Monday are the handmade items that a designer named and set specific stats and ranges for. What you won't see is the majority of the game's entire item pool, which exists in the near limitless randomized permutations.
tbh though they have too many lower level ones...most of the legendaries should have been level 60
Looks like The Grandfather has the most affixes in the game (I think rares only go up to 6).

I will be absolutely shocked if come Monday, we find out that most of the legendary items are sub level 60.
Blizzard just wouldn't waste their time on the best art assets in the game for items that players won't be using for more lengthy periods of time.
Many of the item categories in the bradygames guide have the EXACT same amount of legendary items if not just one more than as are currently on the Diablo 3 website.
It looks like bradygames has a slightly more updated version of the item database than is shown on the diablo 3 website. I'm almost convinced now that this is in no way shape or form the final legendary/set list.
ETA: I mean come on, only 7 legendary helms, with only one of them being level 60, and no harlequin crest which is an iconic Diablo item. No way this is final.
I have a question about the items perhaps some of you can answer it.
Legendary Swords:L- One Handed -ZDoombringer - Life, Fire Damage, Life Steal,8IncreasedDamage
If we take Doombringer and use it as example. Will the fixed attributes, in this case: Life, Fire Damage, Life Steal and Increased Damage be static? Or will they vary in numbers from Doombringer to Doombringer ?
What i mean is will the "Increased damage" be a static number or can it vary from example 50 Increased Damage to 100 on different Doombringers...
The quantities will not be static. One Doombringer will certainly be better/worse than the next.
this is EXTREMELY disappointing. when items were first released on the d3 website, there was more than DOUBLE these amounts of items. i mean theres only one level 60 hand crossbow? like this literally CANT be the final list of items. i dont care if this stretegy guide was from blizzard themselves. there is WAY too few items. legendary and set. especially if theyre saying you will have to farm hell for act 1 inferno, farm act 1 inferno for act 2 inferno, act 2 inferno for act 3 inferno, and act 3 inferno for act 4 inferno.
with all that farming demon hunters get ONE hand crossbow? no. this cant be right.

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)
For some reason I was expecting to see some crazy affixes on some of the legendaries.. like Legendary Specific - Chance to Spawn Mirror imgages.. or Hits against you have a chance to cause and explosion around you in 10 yds.. that kind of thing.
But never the less.. these are awesome! and I can't wait to start hunting!

sorry, i fail to see your point. if youre refering to the point of there being random named legendaries with random affixes, if you scroll up to the first post on this page, youll see jays response that there are no random named legendaries with random affixes because that is no different than a rare. there may be a legendary that has all its stats random, but it still has a set name. if youre refering to another post, i dont see it. i was simply stating that it was a disappointment that the list of items on the strategy guide was so small.

Best spoiler to read without being spoiled lol. A couple of questions:
"Any X class skill" - Does it mean all X class skills, or only 1 out of many X class skills (Betting its All)
"Add 1 socket" Legendary Ring Unity - Does it mean that we can socket on a ring? or this is the only 1 socket ring?
Going through these items, I found which could be possiblely the biggest change in play style from Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 for casters. Wizard and Witch doctors now have a fairly good chance to come up with some "Spell leech" (life on hit) build which will come handy against hordes of mobs. I makes me reconsider the build options for Wizzard. Skills like Meteor and Blizzard could be very worthy to have, so many armor / accessories come with "Life on hit".
Further note
Legenwdary Chest Robes of the Rydraelm (Craftable), lv60 MF, + 3 Random Affixes
Legendary Pants Gehennas (Craftable), lv60 MF + 3 Random Affixes
these alone make leveling crafting, a solid choice. I bet if the Affixes stacks the same way in D3 as in D2, people will be crafting the hell out of these, dying to get the + MF & Run/Walk fout of these random Affixes.

200+ legendaries at launch is a large list of items. I'm not sure what you're looking for from them.
I did not check the whole list, but there seems to be no legendary only affix on these items, which is good.
No, its freakin' horrible.
It means they have nothing special despite their name, and considering the horribly boring list of Affix if there are no legendary only affix that are any special then my god, will itemization in this game be bad.

Twitter Person: Can legendaries drop off mobs spawn with random names and completely random affix like rares do?
Jay: Legendaries have set names and set affixes, like uniques in D2. Affixes do have random ranges, so you can roll a perfect one.
Twitter Person: So legendary quality items with randon names and completely random affixes do not exist?
Jay: Correct. A legendary with random affixes and name would be no different than a rare.
Twitter Person: Well i hope the brady games guide is missing a ton cause it seems very small in terms of amount of lvl60 legendaries.
Jay: I don't have the guide in front of me, roughly how many legendaries do you see?
Twitter Person: 226 Legendary in total, includin all armor and all weapon. Does that number sounds right or off by a huge margin?
Jay: Over 200 legendaries sounds right. This is more than D2 had at ship, and not much lower than D2 has after 10 years.
Total legendary items in game guide = 248
Total legendary items on website = 220
Total set items in game guide = 81
Total set items on website = 45
+28 more legendary items and +36 set items
These could be off by 1 or 2 items imo, counted from the screenshot.
