I havent gotten a single yellow item from a resplendent chest since they nerfed MF to not affect the drops from them. Hell even with no MF as many as I have opened I should have gotten at least one because my farming route includes 3 places that have 100% chest spawns. Can anyone confirm or deny that these chests only drop blue quality items now? Has anyone gotten a yellow or better?
I've found multiple yellows from the chests with 186 MF with 5 stack NV buff. I know it got nerfed but I've still gotten yellows. Then again there are several times I've opened one and only gotten blues. It's really about 50/50.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
One legendary in a sea of blue crap is your only argument?
My first set item was dropped by a white mob, so maybe we must avoid elites and farm those pesky bags of hitpoints...
Chests suck now. His point still stands. :Thumbs Up:
The idea that "chests suck" is based entire on a comparison to chests that are readily available and giving too much loot. So you can say they suck, or you can say they're now in line with everything else. I'm betting if you look at drop rates for a particular item (rares, legendary items, sets, etc) you'll find chests and white mobs are pretty close. Why should they be any higher? They're a free click.
I must decline this, i have found few rares in chest after mf nerf.
3-4 rares in what must be well over a hundred since nerf. I don't expect much, but that seems a bit skewed IMO.
If they don't want MF affecting their drops, that's fine with me, but... I would suggest attaching a fixed (and higher) drop rate to them and further randomizing their spawning locations. It's not like every 3rd rare is a keeper.
How many times have I id'd 40+ rares after a run and nothing worth mention.....which is also fine with me, but we like to see them drop from resplendants. It's a missing 'fun-bit' from the game. I certainly wouldn't bother chasing those slippery goblins if they had a similar drop rate.

Resplendant chests are the equivalent of finding an elite pack while exploring, except sometimes to find them you need to explore a whole dungeon or fight 3-5 packs of elites, and they pretty rare nowadays (with no guaranteed spots).
We have corpses, jars, barrels, bookshelves, dead adventurers, normal chests, and the hardest of them all to get is a resplendant chest, so they should definitely have slightly better loot.
They're still better than early beta, though, but far from what they were pre-mf nerf. My MF DH is sad at this

The sight of a glowing and glittering phat ass chest suggests a potential reward. The appearance of them alone is a precursor to disappointment. It's not as if they trigger your brain like the sight of a tree stump.

Fair enough, but I think the status of their drops is still being slightly exaggerated. They're far from worthless. I suppose I could get behind them dropping a guaranteed rare with 5 NV, but bringing them back to calculating MF is madness in my opinion - it will simply lead to farming them exclusively again.

While they are rare, they're rare under a special set of circumstances (spawning of the cave or event or whatever has it). I don't think they should be considered an elite and drop multiple rares all the time, as they are still a free click - elites actually require work, even if that work is 2 or 3 shots by a well-geared demon-hunter.
As I mentioned in the above reply (I intended to include your quote too, and got a little quick on the post button!), I can't see how a single guaranteed rare at 5 NV would be harmful, but anything else is a no-no in my opinion.

How did they get farmed before? I thought they could only spawn in the second level of a cave or smthing? Meaning that you had to battle through a few packs.
Places like the Watch Tower, that are very quickly accessible from a waypoint, and a very short first level with almost zero mobs, could be flipped very quickly. I never personally did it, as I find it boring beyond belief, but there were plenty of videos out there on where the best places were.

+1 and can't much argue with that. They just seem to suggest that they're something they are not.
If their locations were mixed up better, far more randomly....than farming for them would become no more or less of a crap-shoot than hunting packs of elites/champs.
As of now, their appearance, their name, is akin to slapping lipstick on a pig.

I've got an idea.....buff those resplendent drops and apply a "guard" to each one of them.
Please forward this awesome idea to Blizzard Corp.
However, they are all filled with crap. Only thing good is the gold and gems really.
I see them as a chance for something, just like every mob I kill.
Are they great? No. Are you shortchanging yourself if you don't open them? Yes.
But yeah... I hear ya.... chests suck now and I hope they revert the change once they deal with the gear swap issue. I have a feeling they will.
I see.
Ha. Bagstone.

50% chance to spawn 10 of those suicide bombers from Act 2 when you click on it. Buff them all you want then
