what would you go to see it for? im certainly not going for the acting or the drama. The pretties and the epicness are enough to overwhelm any bad acting or dialogue.
I think Part two is the best out of the bunch. I never read the last book so I don't know if it did it justice or not.
:::SPOILERS::::
I expected it to be more sad though. And the way Voldermort died at the end, I didn't really connect with it for some reason. Maybe it was because Harry didn't kill him directly, and I wanted that satisfaction.
Also, I didn't like the part right after Voldermort dies, where they are just kind of walking around hogwarts like it wasn't a big deal or anything. It just seemed too relaxed and laid back.
The reviews seem too good, and all the previous ones have sucked.Skeptical bear is skeptical <_<
Yeah, I knew there was going to be a wave of good reviews just because it's the last HP movie they'll make. People are going to take that into account and inflate the quality of the movie.
But I went into it thinking that it wasn't going to be that good and I was pleasantly surprised. Somethings were omitted that I thought were important moments in the book and somethings were definitely made out to be crowd fodder:
[spoil]When Mrs. Weasley kills Bellatrix, obviously trying to play on that whole idea of, "yay, let's root for the least likely hero."[/spoil]
But somethings in the movie made me grin like an idiot. That was enough to keep me happy. Believe it or not, but there is a good balance between humor, action, and quiet moments that make the movie feel really well thought out.

Well i still haven't watched the second part but the first one was pretty much a disappointment for me as compared to the book. Maybe if i hadn't read the book i would have liked it better.
But movies based on novels and video games never seem to work for me.

''Zubin, I've always imagined you as a crazy raver. The kinda guy that spends all night dancing to trance music while waving glow sticks and popping ecstasy.'' - Murderface
I've yet not seen part I, so I'll probably watch both in a marathon with lots of beer. The reviews are curious though, the first 6 that I have watched weren't that great.
Don't watch part 1 unless your a bloodthirsty HP freak fan, there's no other way to enjoy it.
I've heard Part 2 is good so I'm going to give it a chance but stay away from P1 if you can...
I havent seen it but Part 1 was disappointing as a fan. The Half Blood Prince and Order of the Phoenix movies were, too. But I've heard great things about this one.
QFT, after nr 4 it just went down the drain for me! I've got high hopes for this one!
I cried quite a bit.. Me and my gf went together. I thought it was amazing.

Life is only another stage of death, in fearing death you can not live life to the fullest. Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible.
It just might be becuz its supposed to be the last one you know. But then again, Joanne Kathleen just announced that she 'might consider' writing a next book in the series. And where there's a book there's a shitty movie.

You seem like a trustworthy skull, I may have to consider seeing it.
However, my philosophy is "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."
Though to be fair, one way or another I've been fooled seven times already <_< So maybe I'm not that good at philosophy.

My thoughts exactly. My favorites were one, two, and four as far as the movies go, and I think they were the ones that stayed closest to the books. And I didn't read the books yet. I can understand changing some things with the book-to-movie conversion to up the action or something, but there are a lot of things that were done that just make no sense.
I mostly enjoyed the movies because they gave me faces to put to the characters when I read about them.
Even if part one relatively sucked, I'd think one would want to see it to know what the fuck is going on in the second part. But that's just me. I didn't see part one or part two yet.
I haven't read any of the books except for listening to the Deathly Hallows audio book. Maybe because of that, I didn't like Part 2. Part 1 seemed quite decent in comparison. In the last film Voldemort didn't feel dangerous at all. He felt very much like a joke. The changes in the plot also didn't do much to the movie either.
Personally I thought part 2 was far superior to part 1. The first one was so boring to me. Both movies were almost identical to the book, just split in half, which I think wasn't all that great of an idea. I understand that they wanted to please fans and all that, and don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the books too. However you can't always just carbon copy a book into a movie and expect it to be great. At any rate I really enjoyed part 2, and I'd love to watch it again. Maybe in IMAX or 3D this time.
What are your thoughts on it?
