this is my gear.
Razer Megalodon head set, fraps for recording gameplay and game sound, Audacity to record my own voice, Sony Vegas to edit and render.
I use Hypercam to record my voice and game. You can probably do a bit more with other programs in terms of sound mixing and video editing. But if you just like something simple like me then go with Hypercam.

Do these both record both the game and my voice at the same time? (I want live commentary)
Yeah I like using the same program to record video and audio because I don't like my commentary to be even just a little bit off and it can be hard sometimes to add an audio track to a video later and have it synced up to the video exactly how you want it.
So under the Sound option in Hypercam, you just have it record sound from Stereo Mix (assuming you're using Realtek). Like you should have set up on so any sound you make through your microphone will come out of your speakers. That way the program records the audio from the game as well as any sound you are making in the mic simultaneously.
Then as for adjusting how loud your voice is compared to the game itself, you can mess with your microphone boost as well as adjusting the audio options in the game.
LMK please
