hello guys i just wanted to get some thoughts and ideas of when do you guys believe blizzard will give an announcement of when d3 will be released??
i really hope that it will be by the end of december if not i think we have no hope but saying that march would be when d3 is released maybe the end of February.
You never know maybe we might get a release date on x-mas, that would be an awesome gift!!
Man...I don't think even god knows that one lol. I definitely hope a late December announcement would be made. As far as a guess goes...I'd put money on mid January considering the ruckus about the RMAH and China...or whatever country that was lol.

Definately won't be any announcement until after the Korea issue is settled. I think the best estimate i've heard on that is early or mid january for it to be settled. After that, they could announce the release date the very next day, or drag it on because the game really isn't done yet. Its anyone's guess at this point. My money is still on a mid-late march launch at best, though as late as June/July wouldn't surprise me one bit.
That's how I feel, I know it sucks for the people in korea who want to play it, but I say if their government is throwing such a shit fit over something like this, then release the game everywhere else (if it's finished that is) and then release in Korea when it's finally settled.
I'm actually curious if anyone can point to any facts stating that Korea is even holding up release, I mean hell most of Asia doesn't get the newest WoW expac until months after it's released here.
Man, this is tough, as said by falcompsx, they'll most likely give us one after the Korean debacle is most likely settled in early/mid Jan, cause an Italian Blue Post said that Blizz will definitely only announce the release date if they were 99.99% sure of it:
Although your theory actually way, I can tell you that immediately after the postponement of the game was decided not to speak of the date of issue until we have an exact date and safe to 99.99%.
When announcing the release date, you can be confident that it will not be postponed *.
* = Subject to natural disasters, emergencies, unforeseen incidents, problems and so unpredictable.

"We're sorry to have led you all on for so long, but Diablo 3 does not exist. The ending of Lord of Destruction was meant to be the end, to leave it up to the players to guess the future. But then we saw that there would be a time when we would not be releasing a game or expansion for a few years and we thought that our fans may grow disinterested, so we created a believable 'Diablo 3' far in advance so as to you string you along until we could release Starcraft 2 and the rest of the World of Warcraft expansions and Project Titan.
"We began to notice that our real projects were taking too long so we announced changes to 'Diablo 3' that we knew would be controversial--the removal of certain RPG elements for example--so as to continue our charade while Titan was built. We also released a fake beta for the game to make it more believable. We created numerous online personas in advance, even contracted--and sometimes threatened--people outside of Blizzard to pretend that the beta was real. It is not.
While the announcement and subsequent reveals of 'Diablo 3' were, in fact, fake (super April fools, by the way), we can now confident enough to reveal the first screenshots and story of Project Titan. Prepare yourself for the brand new Sonic the Hedgehog MMO, based on the Archie Comic series."
In my opinion, we should be waiting and watching for word on the Rune System.
Alot of Bash's comments have made it sound like they will share with us their "findings" when they have it more locked down.
In otherwords, don't be waiting and wondering for a release date announcement, instead, keep a watchfull eye out on a post sharing with us their plans for the Runestone system. I belive that after that (with in a couple weeks) they will announce the release date.
I think all of the other aspects of the game: Ballance, skill unlock order, refinement of the tooltips and of course items (legendary specifically) are likely in s a state of being done. Just, because certain memebers of the team are still so hard at work trying to decide / implement the perfect way to present the runestones, the rest of the team is getting the chance to make all of that other stuff more polished.
So again, just my opinion, but I wouldnt expect an announcement untill at least a week or 2 after the runestone system is set in stone. And, I believe that system is crucial enough to the game, that they are REALLY taking their time to get it right.
My hope is announcment in late Jan release in early-mid March. I think anything sooner than that is unrealistic (they runestone system obviously isnt done, or we'd know about it).
I'm actually curious if anyone can point to any facts stating that Korea is even holding up release, I mean hell most of Asia doesn't get the newest WoW expac until months after it's released here.
It would be hard to point to any facts, considering they don't exist. People will believe what they want.
I'm with Snowhammer here. Jan announcement for a release sometime in March. I'd like to see something sooner, of course. While they could certainly announce something on, say Jan 17 and release the game on Jan 31, I don't know if the turnaround would be that quick.
I'm going to include some of the Korea RMAH stuff, EXCLUDING whether they are or aren't the cause of the delay...
[Speculation!!] We all know the new Twitter beta key contest ends on the 23de of Jan and Korea will give Blizz their decision sometime in the coming weeks (probably early/mid January). And Blizz will only announce the release date when they are 100% sure of it (see my first post). Thus Blizz will only give us a release date after Korea gave their final decision (but Blizz is obviously also "busy polishing and redesigning stuff" so only a release date after they are finally done with that also, which will probably turn out to be just after Korea's final decision ). [Speculation!!]
With that tweet there what do you guys think of "We have a little something fun planned for the week after" [2-9 Jan]?
Jokingly hinting at release date?
I doupt. It's prolly just something related to Blizzard XMas holiday or some new informations, but I doupt they would qualify a release date tweet as a "little something".

He wrote that on Dec 22. 9 days after Dec 22 is Dec 31.
When I view that tweet it says: 3:44 AM, 23 Dec. What like 8 hours back so 19:44 in US or something? Yeah yeah timezones schminezones... I knew it was the 31st... :Thumbs Up:
They have to wait till Korea give then an answer regarding the RMAH...and that's supposed to be on the 4th or something. Rather a release date "for the week after", but also doubt it. Basiok is kinda a troll, but he say "something fun planned" which to me doesn't mean release date. Hopefully one or two weeks thereafter...

Wishful thinking, obviously... I can dream though, right?
I'm seriously doubting a release date announcement. I'm hoping for info on the rune system and if they actually ditched that horrendously unfair "unnatuned" rune drop thing they were playing around with.

I can't tell you though...

So, my current guess: 17 - 23 Jan
According to Bashiok, it's Jan 1ste!?!?!?!
He probably meant Dec 31ste...hehe

And can you also give me a link to that tweet?
He wrote that on Dec 22. 9 days after Dec 22 is Dec 31.
Anyway, yeah probably no release date, hopefully the final rune-system and not a wallpaper...
