I voted amazing, but really this sort of stuff should have been in the game at launch. Cause they seriously overestimated Inferno difficulty (for SC, I still haven't beaten it HC).
To their credit, Blizzard has implemented extraordinary change in a very short amount of time (approx13 weeks). If it had taken them 6 months, 12 months or more to get on the ball, I would be caught complaining. However they took the critique of the players and acted immediately to improve the game.
Gratz to Blizz on a job well done.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
We know that a lot of you out there are level 60 -- maybe on multiple characters -- and this system provides a way to make progress every time you log in to the game.
Does this mean that paragon levels are account bound or do we have to do it for each individual toon?
This is another interesting question. I think it would be individual to characters, but that's just my speculation.
I really hope it's common to all level 60 characters, otherwise it'd feel like taking a big step backwards every time you played your 'B list' characters. Can you imagine taking XP required for paragon level X, and multiplying it by five just because you didn't want to feel like switching to an alt was a downgrade? /shudder
I think it is a good fix for people asking for things to do, but I am afraid of the effect it had on PvP and future expansion.
How do you group people with different level of paragons to fight together, and for the next expansion, do we start at lvl 100 paragon or just lvl 60 characters...

Considering pvp isn't in the game yet, it's safe to assume they're going to work that out ahead of time. I think it's most likely paragon level bonuses won't apply in a pvp setting, but there could be some other solution in the works.

I've added some new poll questions in the OP, just for fun. If you've already filled out the first one you'll have to simply delete your vote to answer all three.
1. Something to do past level 60, makes even the most unrewarding trip into sanctuary still seem worthwhile.
2. Solves the whole magic find vs damage dilema. I hate having to wear suboptimal gear as an investment into the distant future, I want to have the best character possible and still find alot of good items. I am glad magic find is being phased out.
3. A good moral boost for a community, show developers care, listen to criticism, and are committed to the long term viability of game.
The Bad:
1. Feels tacked on, like they wanted to make one kind of game but were forced to make something else. Having normal leveling, paragon leveling, and the valor system on top of each other seems kind of redundant. They wanted to make a simpler game and oddly enough made it more complex.
2. This is not endgame content. Its a cool feature, and will make end game content more fun, but it is not end game content by itself. There needs to be some meat and potato end game play such as endless dungeon, a monster arena, or a Path of Exile type map system, as well as PvP. Paragon level will make each of these systems more fun, but it cannot replace real end game content.
Overall its a good change, and hopefully developers will keep building on it.
I stopped playing a couple of months ago because I got bored. I would go on for an hour or two, grind, and have no quantifiable gain by the end of my run. I might have some extra gold, but not nearly enough to warrant the time spent, or purchase an upgrade on the AH.
I never got into Act 2 Inferno (could beat Act 1) because I didn't want to grind Act 1 for ages to get enough gold to get good enough gear.
Firstly this paragon system is temporary and imo will be modified or even removed when expansion hits, because it simply doesnt make sense in the long way. All it reminds me is a silly children song:
One potato, two potato,
Three potato, four,
Five potato, six potato,
Seven potato, more...
Secondly how long will it take for players to discover that those are only potatoes...

For people who read the label saying "Bag Of Potatoes" that realisation probably came before purchase. For everyone else... read the label next time
lvl160 will take like 2-3 month, if you grind like a mthrfkr of course. essentially since there is no xp lost to death.
so hopefully in 3 month they have pvp almost ready. If not, they will dump something else to keep us grinding.

Lets diagram this (terrible) post, shall we?
-Assumption: You must grind for 2-3 months to attain plvl 100. (Frankly I think that might be optimistic, but ok).
-Thinly veiled whine about the absence of an annoying D2 mechanic: Since there is no xp lost on death. (Oh noes)
-Passive reference to pvp: So hopefully they pvp in 3 months. (I don't think Blizzard runs on your presumptive schedule).
-Dismissive statement alluding to the futility of the entire thing: Dump something else on us. (I assume you will skip this obvious grind and quit the game in lieu of pvp?)
I hope it feels good to know your pessimism isn't shared by many.
I'm going to grind it out like I did in d2, where the fuck did I say I was unhappy with more shit to grind?
Yes I do think they are trying to push out pvp quicker so we won't be seeing all the bitching and whining again at the end of this paragon level grind. If not, I think they will come out with something to keep us grinding, and not whining.

Extended downtime tomorrow.
