IMO a pure build is somethin that would only work with, this build I only expect it to do very well in arena and outside maybe not so much compared to other PURE PVE builds out there for WD.
No escapes on a pure PvP build. Well, get fucked I guess lol
*edit, also like most people, you dont understand that most abilities will behave differently in pvp as they do in PvE, you will not slow someone for 110%, you can only probly max slow someone for im guessing around 60-80%
Theres plenty of escapes what do u mean? my dart with 0 CD has a stun chance, haunt will be a slow with 0 CD, while theyre bein used Horrify with a 20 sec CD , and Grasp of the dead of a 8 sec CD will come back up soon. that should be more than enough, even with that % of slow its hard to get out of
and horrify is enough full CC needed, the hex doesnt last as long and isnt a sufficent CC as horrify is. and the slows are op
those are not escapes my friend, those are CC. you seem new to pvp so im going to help you out here. Do not count on CC to let you avoid danger in this game.
You have 2 escapes to my knowledge as a WD. One of those is spirit walk, the other is zombie wall, if it absorbs damage like I think it will, a well place wall can put something between you and a melee class, or absorb any projectile (unless it has a pierce component). Your slows will do nothing to a DH, nothing to a wiz, and nothing to a WD, they will be slightly affective to a barb or monk while you try to kite them, only problem is they can just leap, charge, blink strike you, Juggernaut from the barb, serenity for the monk Horrify is the closest thing to an escape you have, but thats only going to work on 2 out of the 5 classes which isnt going to do much against barbs with Jugg, and monks with serenity (popular pvp choices). So your "escape" cc, isnt going to be effective at all.
you have no means to regain health? and no means to avoid incoming damage.
good luck.

then you're not a skilled gamer if you think that. I've yet to meet a "skilled" gamer who is an idiot in regards to how the game plays. They can be assholes, like myself, but know their shit.
There you go, a real PvP build for a WD, that doesnt plan on getting their face stomped into the ground by every single class in the game. Your lack of knowledge and assertions that you're good, based on your lack of knowledge is all I need to know in regards to you getting stomped 9999999 times in a row.
That link is your help, use it, or die, choice is yours.
*edit, and since you're skilled, you wont need an explanation on how to use it.

a noob? ru kiddin me.. that build is goin to wreck in arena pvp, idk what ur talkin about broseph
Nah, he's right. You are an inarticulate noob.
As an aside, it is incredibly asinine to create a thread asking for peoples opinions, only to get overly defense when they critique your build or offer criticisms.
Free escapes are not required, they are recommended but not a given. There is this thing called FCR and if Diablo 3 works like Diablo 2 where your "required" escapes get interrupted then they are pointless. A skilled player can run/walk his way out of danger and out zone other players.
Now as far as your build goes, do we have confirmation that Horrify even does anything in PvP? I know Hex turns opponent into a chicken but I haven't seen anything on Horrify. Only use of those dogs I see are to be damage reductions, or to chip damage enemy, so not a bad build and not a bad set of skills, your meta game will be to stun and slow and run away and chip people to death, with the correct movements and assumptions it could work. If you find yourself actually needing a teleport then you have room to put it in without breaking your original build.
yeah im hopin horrify will work in pvp ive seen hex too but im thinkin that it might just work. yeah the dogs are manly for a consistent damage on the opponent just to bug them really, but the life link gem will be perfect in my surivability as well. if horrify doesnt work ill just turn it to hex, and its a good kiting build not burst cause thats not what really WD is about

>< I'd really like to join this conversation, but I can't see your build Mac. Only the skills, not the runes or passives. Not the first time... Is it just me?
when i click on the link it works... Ill just tell you the runes
Haunt - Grasping Spirit
Swarm - Searing Locusts
SWalk - Healing Journey
Horrify - Stalker (to kite melee) or Face of Death (to hit ranged)
SBarrage - Phlebotomize
Wall of Zombies - Pile on (offensive oriented build) or Barricade (defensive/positioning build)
Spirit Vessel - CD on escapes, OP escape mech built in,
Jungle Fort - DR
Blood Ritual - Health Regen, lower mana costs,

Yeah you spam that while getting smashed in the face by a barb/monk!
Spirit Vessel reduces the CD on Spirit Walk, Horrify, and allows you to have an extra spirit walk ever 90s. PvE Passive? Almost every passive in the game has a use for both PvE and PvP. You dont die, it allows your dots to tick longer, and allows you reposition yourself away from enemy, and cast barrage, which allows you to leech back more health, along with the passive 1% hp regen of blood ritual, and that if you really wanted to, you could pop spirit walk after spirit vessel to regain more health. Then reposition yourself after that to cast horrify to give your dots even more time to tick, and you to regain ever more hp, then you use the 20% MS from horrify to get further away. You can avoid so much damage and regain so much health in the duration of Spirit Vessel - Spirit Walk - Horrify, that by the time they got back to you, within seconds you could spirit walk again. It's on a 12sec CD, regains 14% of your health, lets you dodge damage, and reposition yourself, all the while you regain life with blood ritual.
Just to show you, the barb has bash clobber, which deals higher dmg, a higher chance to stun, and is a generator for them. Or Seismic slam stagger, which does more damage and doubles the chance of being stun, or ground slam stun etc.Monk can just ignore your useless cc and kill you, everytime you fight a monk with serenity, you will lose. Every time.
Like i said, you have 1 escape, that works on 2 classes. 1 of which in pvp will have serenity, making it useless anyways,
if you plan to pvp without an escape, and no means to regain health, enjoy dying over and over and over. Anyone with pvp experience will agree on this.
your a pvp character with no defensive CD's that are effective. Goodluck.

i can fully understand spirit vessel and spirit walk for pve, but not pvp..
i got plenty of defensive skills that'll keep me alive, like the poster above a smart player doesnt need an invulnerable to keep alive...
more like u need to kno how to kite and play ur char very well for my build to be effective, no random scrub can use this build n thrive with it

I think my build is perfect for 1v1 or team pvp

but the haunt with the grasp of the dead = 110% slow hella nice, but u get around 1725 hp back from haunt... soo

IMO Spirit Vessel is a pve passive, with 10% hp in pvp its pointless to use unless u wanna spawn again and get 1 shot
