Edit: For those having trouble finding their sense of humor, I wouldn't have put this video up if I was trying to show off effective or efficient runs. This is just poking fun at my group running glassy builds on T4 zerging our way through two ridiculous Mallet Lord packs stacked on each other.
ENJOY.
Warning: Lots of repeating "omg wow" from me over and over and over again.
And that is the reason why I almost never run without a monk. He just takes so much of the damage and helps to keep them a bit together (Mallet Lords are immune to CS, IIRC, but at least they focus on this one guy in the middle who's not dead all the time). And he adds more survivability. What's your toughness, btw?
I don't know if the armory is bugged, but it shows that you're pretty much a glass cannon (very high DPS, but low EHP), so that's no surprise. Also, your build seems a bit greedy - no real lifesaving abilities, since Nova is too weak agains elites. Get Teleport + Illusionist, it shines in all kinds of "oh shit" situations.
And yeah, get a monk for your group, like the above poster suggests. Monks are kings of buffs right now - shields for 55k+ damage, tons of regen and heals, AR buff, direct and indirect DPS buffs. When I play with a monk friend I can easily get away with taking literally no survivability tools (except Teleport that I never ever remove from my action bar) and go full DPS instead.
So many people play on way too high difficulty. Just because you can sort of do it it doesn't mean it's optimal. If you're dying more than occasionally or taking over a minute average per pack your diff is too high.
You guys are kidding right? Last I checked these guys have like 1.2 mil sheet DPS and 1.6+ mil EDPS (with elemental bonus). T3 is probably a joke to them.
Yes, they're all glass cannons. And yes, they will all probably die very quickly to an elite that has Vortex and can pull them in to meele range. But that doesn't mean they have trouble with most packs. Haven't we all run into double/triple packs that are near impossible to beat (Act V Anarchs come to mind as well).
That particular pack combo (I'm pretty sure there was 2 there) would've made anyone, even some of the tankiest Barbs/Monks, run to a corner crying.
Poison Enchanted + Thunderstorm + Vortex Mallet Lords? That will one-shot even guys with 10 mil+ Toughness, easily. Add Reflect Damage AND Electrified so that they're kicking your ass denying most sustain even when they're not doing anything, just getting hit? And Mallet Lords only have that one beefy attack always, and a huge health pool (so extra health on top of that). Ouch.
It semed to me they were just reviving and dying for the lulz there. Not really tryharding the Rift of anything.

True. We did a T6 elite pack the other day just for the lulz (and didn't die, yay! - but killing was way too slow). If you consider that Mallet Lords are some of the hardest hitting monsters in game, and this is a particularly awful combo, almost everyone would've died here (unless you have a super tanky monk :P). And to be fair, despite them dying it's still impressive how fast the mobs' HP goes down. Insane damage there.
Where did you get the 1.2m sheet DPS though? Does the in-game profile update correctly? Because the armory is completely out of date, and doesn't show enchantments. For Jaetch it still shows his pre-RoS weapon. Anyways, if their sheet DPS is 1.2m, their eDPS is much much higher, more like 10m or so.
I think people are missing the point. I'm just trying to poke fun at myself, but apparently half the people commenting have no sense of humor :/
We don't normally die this much, but we found it funny, nonetheless, especially with all four players running glassy builds (and two of us running pseudo-melee builds).
I've since upped my total damage reduction (buffed) to over 97% while also doubling my total HP (in the video I only have 170K HP), in addition to increasing my unbuffed DPS by over 80K. Right now my buffed stats stand around 97.4% damage reduction (2500+ average AR, 9000 armor) with 300K+ HP, 1M+ sheet DPS, 8K+ life regen, 12K+ life per kill, 5K+ life per hit, 6K globes, with 4-piece Tal Rasha bonus and 65% area damage.
Holy crap, that's an insane amount of mitigation. Getting that much AND having 1m sheet DPS is just... insane.
I think everyone who knows you and has seen previous videos is aware that you're not the glass canon type ;-) For example, you have been top 10 or so in PvP dummy stats for a while...
How much Toughness (char sheet) is that? Also, is it really worth getting so high AR? I was under the impression that after like 1-1.2k AR getting flat Vit or even Life % provides more EHP than if you keep stacking AR.
I didn't say "stack Vit and drop all your AR and armor". And I think you confuse sustained and burst damage. When you need to survive burst damage, it's all about EHP and nothing else - and it doesn't matter what stats give you that EHP.
I've asked about 2500 AR, because yellow pieces of gear usually let you choose between 85-90 AR and 350-450 Vitality. In my gear (~1500 AR self-buffed, ~38% life bonus) even 350 Vit gives way more EHP than 90 AR. I'm pretty sure that at 2500 AR the difference is huge in favor of Vit. Again, I'm not saying "drop AR, stack Vit" because it definitely hurts sustainability, but I don't see the point in getting THAT much AR either. You need a healthy mix of both, IMO.
P.S. Can somebody tell me how to work around that annoying bug of the forum that sometimes removes whitespaces from my posts? I have to edit literally every single post because of it.
Glad its not me.
I sometimes have trouble enough with torment 1 packs.
Only have 800k buffed dps with 4,9m Toughness 1200-1500 AR and 6k healing (with class cannon talent ofc)
Finding it hard to get better yellow items. (I am unlucky barely see any legendary's and the ones i do find is crappy ass 2 handers

Haha this looks oddly familiar. i was trying to solo t3 rifts the other day and I had a pack with a mallet lord as the elite and it was horde with the guys from act 4 which stun you for 5 seconds. Good times!!
I just ran into 12 mallet lords in an elite mob (playing on nightmare-master 5) on level 2 of the silver spire D:
It was by far the most horrific thing I've come across in this game. Usually I use my DH and just go farming, but recently started a new monk, so not having the rapid fire skill made it even more terrifying. Why are none of the actual bosses that scary?!
