A while back we were discussing who the canonical hero in Diablo II was, and we deduced it couldn't be the Barbarian due the the fact all artwork for him has him in his "newb" outfit, which is clearly nothing like the short, quick shot of the character scene in the Epilogue cinematic.
At the time I totally forgot about this poster I got in game poster magazine, I think it's a cool portait.
Sorry it's a little damage. It got beaten up in the move. And sorry I had to scan it in halves. My scanner only does A4 not A3.
He still isn't wearing the right gloves though, but he is wearing a bracer.
Attachment is half full sized. (I think)
Anyone else got any cool Diablo Posters?

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Necromancer. He is wearing the same bracer and glove and the arm in the epilogue ciematic.
Neat. He's wearing Ancient armor. I've never seen that poster before.
It was in a really old poster book, back when Metal Gear Solid came out.

That Poster looks exactly like one of jetrall's work i think it was a barbarian but with a red armor, this kindaof disappoints me i thought he did it himself.

We're trying to balance satisfying the fans and also creating a game that feels like our own.
I couldn't say if this poster gave him any inspiration or not. It's a very old, seldom seen poster.

I wouldn't know about that, we deduced it was probably the Necro in the Canonical Hero thread, but isn't the most common view that it's the Barbarian or the Paladin?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
But after careful deduction, numerous tests, research papers, chemical enzyme analysis, and radiation testing (among others things), it turns out it's the Necromancer!
I always believed it to be the Barbarian, based upon the nature of his interactions with the NPCs.
Charsi in Act I, and pretty much everyone in Act V; Malah, especially.

Which class uses a canon?
Who do most people believe is the canon hero?

So does 95% of the rest of the world.
