"I do not know if you recall me. I am Phasys, the one who was talking to Zubin in the Tavern. I am very young, forgive my ignorance, but, does Johnny have feelings? Does he feel pain? Can he die?"
Venex laughed at this and then replied: "You amuse me friend, the curiosity of a young one is always interesting to watch. Yes, Johnny does have feelings, and he can die... sadly." Venex strode over to Thufir Hawat and pointed at him while exclaiming: "This is Thufir Hawat, he served in the battle. It's a miracle that he made it here himself, he was practically a goner in the field."
Phasys walked around the room, as if thinking. He patted the wall and said: "This house is very secure, and only has two windows, the second one cannot even be noticed from the street. Do you mind if I rest here with you two? Oh yes, here are some things I took along the way to this room, I didn't know you were staying here, sorry."
Phasys waited for Venex to respond to Phasys' question about residing in the house while pacing about the room, making further inspections.

Venex thought a moment, seeing if Thufir would speak. He did not. The man did not seem in mortal danger any more. When he had ascended, Venex had given the man a potion to restore him. One of the known side-effects was drowsiness. Thufir was probably asleep. He would awaken again shortly, however. Venex moved him to the bed and laid him down.
"I suppose you might stay here. I guess there's no place better, unless you're looking for a crowd. I myself prefer the quiet and so," he gestured around the room, "I shall stay here tonight as well."
He remembered that Zubin had found his own spot for sleep. He would not wake the man. He'd had a tough day, and needed rest. He would find Zubin in the morning though, and acquaint him with Thufir. It seemed he already knew Phasys. He smiled inwardly, remembering their hug. Zubin would prove to be a good friend.
"Come," he said, gesturing to the other room. "Thufir will awaken shortly, and I'm sure we can find something to talk about in the mean time. He told me before falling asleep that was a sitting room just downstairs with a fireplace. Perhaps you know of some good tales?" He smiled. "I myself know many."
As they left the room, he turned back for a second and whispered, not wanting to wake Thufir, "Stay and watch him Johnny. If there's any trouble, come and get me." The skeleton saluted and went to stand by the window.
The two men walked downstairs and found the sitting room. Venex managed to light a fire in the fireplace before sitting in one of the three comfortable wooden chairs in the room. Phasys sat in another. For a while, there was silence. Then, suddenly, the image of the fallen with the skull on it's head came back and Venex found himself laughing again. The other man, not knowing what was so funny, laughed too. Eventually it died down. "So," said the Necromancer, his cheeks still flushed from the fit, "do you know any good tales, or what?"
Thufir woke from his sleep, expecting an empty room or maybe that necromancer, but instead there was a minion of Hell standing over him!
"DIE!" he screamed, kicking out at the thing. Just as he made contact, he realized two things, one, it wasn't a minion of Hell, and two, it couldn't die.
Within seconds, Venex and a stranger were in the room, demanding to know what happened. Hawat explained that when awakening from a sleep, a skeleton isn't quite the best thing to see right away, especially after a battle against Hell.
"Baeithra, vhile taverns have zeir share of drunks who cannot hold zeir tongues, I zink it vould best we find a more learned person, prehaps a scholar or dare I say vise man, if the talisman is to mark association viz a group, zen surely someone with more knowledge of such zings will be able to point us in ze right direction" said Sir Karl.
"Hmm I suppose you are right. Baeithra said. "Tomorrow I hope we get some answers"

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Winston decided to sit down at the back of the "inn" and wait for a server to take his order. After all this walking and fighting, he thought he deserved a nice drink and maybe a pountine, but no one came. Winston then proceeded to march up to the front and yell at the barkeeper because he wouldn't come and ask him what he would like. The barkeeper replied by pointing to a sign that said "Order at the front". Winston then went to the door (Being the front of the tavern) and waited to order.
Phasys stared at Thufir with a blank expression. Then he burst out laughing at the situation... a bit too loud, especially right by the window. Phasys suddenly stopped laughing when he realized the danger he could have put the group into. He stood there with a solemn look before asking:
"How are your wounds feeling? By the way, I am Phasys, now a member of the Order of the Hammer. I guess with this battle going on, any human is a friend..."
Phasys extended his hand to shake Thufir's when there was a deafening roar. It came from outside by the door. Boom! The door was being pummeled by some kind of force. Phasys quickly apologized, saying it was his fault for laughing so loud. Phasys and Venex creeped down the stairs to see the source of the commotion when Phasys turned around and said in a quiet voice:
"I have a plan, it will definitley work, I just need to know something, will the door hold for long?"

"Sorry," said Venex to Thufir. "I guess I'm just used to his presence. Maybe I should give him a silly hat to make him seem less threatening." The skeleton turned and seemed to glare at the Necromancer.
"Haha... Kidding!" he responded, and made himself busy helping Thufir out of the bed. "So, I guess my potion worked. You're looking much better. Would you care to join us downstairs? I was just regailing this young one here - who's name is Phasys - with the ancient legend of Rathma and Trang-Oul, the grea World Dragon.
"Longer than any other, I tested it, and it is made of Ironwood or something similar. Add in my barricades, and nothing will get through in a hurry, not even the Prime Evils themselves!" Thufir looked out the window, it being directly above the door, but due to the thickness of the walls he was at risk of teetering off the edge, especially with his leg wound, although the potion did help.
"Well, all the same," said Venex. "I'd prefer if it weren't Diablo knocking on our door." He ran down the stairs and peered at the door. It shook, but did not give in. He called up to Thufir and Phasys. "What do you see?!"
"Thufir, you must lie down, trust me, you need to heal your wounds. And Venex, stand by the stairs, and if the door breaks, give them hell. This is what I will do: I will jump back to the house on the other side via the window. I will sneak down and cut off the monsters from the back. When I yell, open the door and rush in with Johnny. Thufir should be safe."
With approving nods from both Venex and Thufir, Phasys set for the window. Boom! Another deafening roar.
"Remember, watch the door!"
Phasys once again jumped through the window, but misjudged it this time, he reached the other window, but only with his hands... he was hanging on for life. Phasys quickly estimated the distance to the ground, and knew he couldn't survive.
"Venex! I need a pillow, trust me!"

Venex cursed. He looked around, seeing if anything could help them. A back door! There must be a back door. He hurried around, looking and - sure enough - there was a door leading out the back of the house. We're damn lucky they didn't choose to come in this way, he thought, looking at the unbaricaded entrance. He opened it quietly and snuck out. "Johnny, stay behind. They might need you."
He crept around the wall, trying to get a look at whatever it was out front. He would know soon enough.
Venex looked around. There was nothing there like a pillow. Damn! He knew what had to be done. He ran out the back door. Thank Trang-Oul they didn't come in this way! he thought to himself, making a note to barricade the door upon his return.
"I'm coming!" he shouted, hoping he wouldn't draw any attention to himself from the creatures outside. He ran around to below the window where Phasys was hanging and readied himself. "Fall on me," he said, bracing for an impact.
Thufir, hearing a call for a pillow, thought this was great luck indeed. Turning around, he went through the house, trying to find where Phasys was. He noticed a room that had never been there before, and looked at the other side of the door. "Aha, a secret passage. What was thsi house?" He rushed through the room as best he could, and seeing Phasys in dire straits, he heaved the pllow as best he could.
Just as he did this however, he saw Venex emerging from the house, bracing himself for impact. Good thing too, as Thufir's throw was far too short.
Phasys let go, and dropped into Venex's arms. They both it the ground.
"Hurry, get to the front door before it's broken! They can't get to Thufir, he's in no state to fight!" As if on que, the most deafening crash erupted. BOOM! Phasys heard the door splinter, and dashed at whatever evils he would face.
Venex quickly followed. They ran inside to see Johnny bravely swinging his scythe at the oncoming monsters. A horde of monsters. Johnny was determined to defend Thufir. He slowly backed away, unable to hold back the oncoming demons. Venex and Phasys attacked from the back, still at the bottom of the stairs. They worked their way up, hacking, stabbing, and impaling the demons. By now the demons had realized they were being attacked from both ways. Half of them faced Venex and Phasys. The real battle had begun.

Thufir, hearing the door splinter, started staggering towards the stairs, thinking to himself, "Damnit, ther's no way Johnny can hold whatever was there alone." As he came to where the battle was, he saw his allies battling from the other side, and Johnny valiantly holding back the horde, although already missing an arm at the elbow. "Damnit, they won't take me like this!" and, drawing his knives, proceeded to throw them at the oncoming horde.
Phasys stood ground, dogding the oncoming blows and faking a few swings with his knife to buy some time. Seeing Thufir, he smiled. The guy had fight in him even with an injury. However, Thufir's leg was hurting, and he misjudged one of his throws by shifting his weight on the other leg. The knife sailed right for Johnny, but sailed harmlessly through his rib cage, while impaling a demon's throat.
"Hurry though Venex, this won't last forever!"

Venex ran outside. The tied sheet he'd used to climb up earlier was still there. He leapt up and grabbed it, then scaled the wall as quick as he could. He reached the window and pulled himself through. Johnny at this point was missing an arm. "Skeletos vitalis!" he cried, pointing his wand as he ran. The arm reappeared and Johnny continued fighting. He reached Thufir and Johnny and, pushing them out of the way, pointed his wand at the lead demon, screaming, "Virus nex!" The demon began to turn green with the poison and suddenly - it's head exploded. Green blood showered down on the demons below who stood, momentarily stunned by what had just happened. Some also got on Phasys. "Don't let any get in your mouth!" cried the Necromancer, already putting his plan in motion.
Behind him was a very large bookcase. "Help me!" he cried to Johnny and Thufir, as he started pushing the bookcase over. "And get out of the way Phasys. It's coming down!"
Thufir saw the plan immediatly, and fell back to help push. "Johnny, stay there 'till the last second, we can't let them up the stairs!" Pushing the bookcase, he put all his effort into his last push, then felt a stabbing pain from his leg. The exertion ad crushed most of the demons, Johnny and Phasys cleaning up, but Thufir felt pain in his leg. He looked down, and he was shocked to discover his bone was sticking out of his lag, a red spot already spreading around the wound. He fought to remain conscious, and managed to say "I need a healer, and fast!"
