I was leaning towards that Linkx. But then I think I remembered that originally it DID move. lol. I think at first, gifs were allowed. But once our site got one of it's early makeovers, gifs were no longer allowed. Then his eye didn't move for a long time. But...now it's back!

You know, Siay's original avatar didn't have the moving eye. It was actually an edit done by...psyix I think? I also think I butchered that name...
I asked Atrumentis to do an artist's rendition of the original photo. Then blood-doll made the googley eye for it. I still feel greatly indebted to both of them for doing that. I couldn't have been happier with it.
I miss the Carloseus rants. Thasador and Darkjay stories.
Winston's fun, Sesslers cartoons, and Atru's Dee'hablothree (probably spelled it wrong)
Zuby thought I was a guy when I first joined despite me stating I was female. hehehe
Ooo, Zuby, you beat my joining by one day. lol
Everybody loves Zuby!!!
Lol, yeah Stormy, i miss those exact same guys too. But i thought Atru was still here. And seriously, what still amazes me is why people got banned. Like Chaos and fbim (mike). Chaos was a nice guy on the inside that i can say.
I do remember a lot of people wanting to throw me out of the forums as well. But i guess the guys in charge were better than that. Or maybe they never got around to doing it. But whatever, I'm grateful.
I still go back and read a lot of old threads over and over. Gets me a good number of laughs when i want them.
OMG! that eye moves? Like that parasitic fish wasn't all scary already.

Yup i saw Atru when i last came back. And honestly i think this site was a lot more 'alive' back then than it is now. The interactions were much more and so was the entertainment. Now you have to wait hours to see any new post update. But that's just my point of view. Or maybe that's because of my time-zone.

No it's not just you. I complained about the exact thing in this same thread. Sometimes threads used to be so active and people would reply to the last post within a couple minutes and it would go on like that all day sometimes in a thread.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.
I know that on more then one occasion I would have to skip 5 or 6 pages simply because I wasn't able to read fast enough to catch up to the conversation. Lol.
I'm not exactly upset about having to skip pages of pages of conversation.
Yea I remember the rate the Avatar above you I would post only to find out that there were 3 people that posted before me and I rated the wrong avatar

Well, it was really fun speculating before D3 was announced. And once it was, every topic was beat to death concerning D3. And since a lot of lore has been covered here, not too many seem to be interested in it anymore. And in terms of community fraternizing, it's definitely down for now. There was a great sense of community prior to the D3 announcement. Then quite a few members left us around or right before that time. However, once it was announced, we got a whole new generation of Dfans. And for a while, we had a REALLY fun and nice community. I know maybe some of the older older members(geezers!!!!!!!!!!) might not have recognized it or cared about it, but we had a lot of fun there for a while.
To name a few in the SQUAD we had Zhar, Nekro, The Cow KING(Nacho), PartyFoul, Azriel, Shatterer, me and many others. Most of our contributions were a bit more light hearted and in off topic.
Heck, I still remember the Lets post to a Million thread! I loved that thread. Siaynoq hated it. It STILL makes me laugh my ass off thinking about SIAYNOQ'S REVENGE. It shocked the community. But, we should have really seen it coming. Siayn was so open about his hate toward that thread and others like it, we really should have seen it coming. Every now and then I have a good laugh about that.
But, that time period is over sorta. We've grown up a bit(tear*) and don't post QUITE as much silly stuff. However, right now we're getting a whole new batch of members. Now it's only a time before a new group of youngsters rally up. Maybe it's different now and will be more like b.net forums or something. But, until the game is actually released, I don't see that happening.
@Linkx- I totally remember having to skip pages just to keep up! Good times.
Did this thread just turn into a nostalgia thread? I think it did.

I don't "miss" users, I just wish they were here to make this site more active, smarter, and more interesting. No disrespect to the new members or the more active relatively new members, but the quality has declined over the passed couple of years, and I've grown to only stand a handful of users. That coupled with my gripes regarding the administration and the general operation of this forum led to the decrease in my posting. Other than that, it's still an interesting site when it comes to news, how they're reported, dealt with, and presented.
Heck, I still remember the Lets post to a Million thread! I loved that thread. Siaynoq hated it. It STILL makes me laugh my ass off thinking about SIAYNOQ'S REVENGE. It shocked the community. I sure hope no one's still angry about that. But yeah I seriously had a problem with that thread and the random chat thread at the time. Mainly because people were so bored with themselves, they occupied their time on the site mostly with those two threads. So they were constantly getting bumped to the top of the list while other people who were trying to create specific topics to discuss were constantly getting overshadowed. I also think that having free reign to create content causes problems. And those two threads were examples of that freedom gone wrong. Also, it got so extremely popular with just a select few users, that if a non-engaged user wanted to get in on the conversation they'd largely be ignored. Whereas a thread with a specific topic or agenda allows people to be heard more on the basis of the relevance of what they are saying as opposed to their popularity on the site.
Those were my impressions of it anyway. I don't care so much about it now because you don't get post counts for those threads. Would I care that others get post counts for meaningless discussion? Partially. But more for the reason that it only served to undermine other more meaningful threads. To much inane bullshit really can alienate some users from others and drive away others who are looking for a place to have more pertinent conversation.
All of this I already explained before, but I think the logic at the time was since those threads were so popular, that was the kind of stuff generating hits for the site. But now with D3 announced and possibly coming out this year, people actually have more to discuss now instead of focusing on whether Reptar is bigger than a blue whale.
Sometimes threads used to be so active and people would reply to the last post within a couple minutes and it would go on like that all day sometimes in a thread.
Its been so long since then. (4 years?). People have moved into a whole new age-bracket and a different part of their lives. I joined here when I was 17 or something... Now I'm 21. I imagine many other members who where late teens/high-school years who are now... good tax paying citizens with too much on their plate. Over 4+ years, some people have probably gotten mortgages and started popping out babies. Now the loan-sharks coming and they have to sell their babies teeth (wtf?)

I imagine that's the main attraction for new guys now. These Diablopodcasts and news articles are good reads. One of the main reasons I came here was to read the length philosophy threads. Which really, come to think of it wasn't actually philosophy. It was just Atheist v Religion flame threads.
As of old time users. Does Equinox still post here? I remember a big blue eye... with strong opinions.
