Uhhhhhhhhh, what the fuck at people with 1 vote all voting for the SAME user? Doesn't that strike you guys as suspect? I say don't allow anyone with less than 250 posts vote. Users with any less have contributed almost nothing to the site, and should have no say on who wins the contest, especially since it's held by DiabloFans.
Why on Earth wouldn't they implement that? If it's some publicity bullshit, it's completely idiotic, since several of those users spent a lot of time and effort making their pieces, and they don't deserve some dipshit getting all the votes because he got random people to join and vote for him. At first it was the staff who was gonna vote. Now they're making everyone vote. Make it so that people with less than not 250..but 100 posts can't vote. Completely logical, completely fair.
It's got nothing to do with Curse and all to do with the fact that we use IPB. I can check IP's and such, so it's not like people will create multiple accounts to go vote or anything.
Post requirement would just help this turn into a popularity contest.
You all do realize that there are people who come to the site and read it/lurk, but do not post on the forums?
I agree with you on that.
Still, I'll confess I found it a really weird move on you people's part in making it a popularity contest.
I thought you were better prepared and that you would have some criteria that would allow staff/judges to 'mark' the drawings in a somewhat objective manner and not require a public poll beforehand.

The fact that anyone can vote is what's keeping it from being a popularity contest.
It's isn't a popularity contest, and it's not gonna bring down activity or whatever if you implemented the 100 post rule. It'd just tell the guests that they have to be SLIGHTLY active for their vote to count. That's it. Nothing more to it.

Requiring a post count would mean that lurkers (who make up most of our population) cannot vote. Maybe you guys didn't notice that either:
834 active user(s) (in the past 60 minutes)
56 members, 775 guests, 3 anonymous users
The fact that anyone can vote is what's keeping it from being a popularity contest.

I expected people to be mature about this whole contest.
