FallenSword - its actually pretty fun, gives my somethign to do while waiting for Diablo3 to come out as i don't play D2 anymore.
its a pretty simple game, but requires strategy as well. you hunt monsters, get better gear, you can upgrade it. Sell/Buy from the marketplace/Auction house. Join one of the thousands of guilds. Within the guild you build up structures that help boost stats of you character. there are many different worlds to go to, and no character level limit that i am aware of. the highest level now is a 435, majority of people are around the 200 level. I am currently 65 but i just joined less than a month ago. everyone should check it out and if you like it let me know. Just message me at "xxPk" ingame, and i can help you get started, and help you throughout the game.
Character stuff:
-level up
-use level up points to make character better
-add points into skills which you can use on yourself or sell to other characters in the game
-use FSP(fallen sword points) to upgrade your character:
-get more stamina to hunt longer
World:
-hunt monsters gaining gold/experience
-gather equip
-hunt Legendary monsters to get Legendary Set Items
-PvP
this is an awesome guide - for the game and will help direct you through the levels, tell you the best gear to use, how to complete quests if you get stuck, etc. ppretty much anything as far as gameplay goes.
I know this is no diablo, but it is pretty fun to play there are over 1.5 mil people playing, and there is always room for more. And it help the time go by a little faster if your bored.

haha i didn;t mean to create two threads i was making the first one and accidently hit a button and all my text dissappeared so i thought i would have to rewrite it sorry about that.
I like the Mythos graphics. Everything is bright and beautiful and the graphics are made a bit simple on purpose. There are tons of enemies on the screen at any given time, as you might expect from a hack 'n slash, and so the game can not afford to have such high level graphics and run smoothly.
Plus it's still in closed beta so it has a long way to go.
Lydeck, what is your IGN?

Runs fine and looks great on my computer. You just have no idea what's a badly optimized game is, lol (Chrome, anyone?). Mythos looks like an even more childish version of WoW, anyway.

My computer molests yours and on occasion the game chugs. HoMM V was a fantastic concept with a big budget that was horribly executed. No optimization whatsoever.
Another couple horribly optimized games? Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142.
You can blame Ubi Soft and EA Games for those polished turds.

Optimization is fine for me. All you can say is it doesn't support all VC's. HV was rushed, mind you. It had a lot of corrections in Tribes of the East. I think it's a great game that will expand further.

Never played. Chrome probably beats them. It's written on Java.
HoMM V is dead. Ubi Soft has moved on to bigger and hopefully better things. I have Tribes of the East, but I had a version leaked way before official release and never got around to patching it. Maybe they fixed some of it.
All I know is, Ubi Soft and EA Games needs to give the developers the time they need. EA is getting better, I'll decide how Ubi Soft is after Far Cry 2 ships.

I'd hate to see what you consider good for a game like that, then.

HoMM V has mediocre graphics and is by far one of the most horribly optimized games ever created.
