Thanks to Meph's new poll, I have realized that some people around here have not had the opportunity to play Diablo 1. As a true Diablo fan, I can only say that I highly suggest that every member on this forum who has not played it yet, should. I understand that the game is old, the graphics are subpar (for today's standards), there is no running (probably the hardest thing to get use to), and that there are no skills earned by level but as a true Diablo fan, I think you owe it to the franchise to dive deep into this game and learn and enjoy the origins of this fascinating game.

Ahhh those we're the days eh? The online experience made me fall in love with the franchise. Yes I hacked a little toward the end ^^ Auto-dupe, god mode, town pk, ect. It was fun
Edit: Also ppl post if you've completed Hellfire, the unofficial Diablo 1 expansion. Which did include running....In town ><
Ive only played Diablo 1 for a short moment, mainly because at the time my computer wouldn't run it with out psychedelic colors for some reason. I hear a lot of people got it to play on vista and on windows 7. I have not had such luck.
Lol I remember watching my Dad playing and completing that game. I played it last year and finished it as a warrior, and I think that for all the background information the game has you should play it. Though you probably already know the story line of the original game (and if you don't you should at least read that. Theres still nothing like playing and living it yourself, trust me, you will have a better understanding of the events before D2 (and Wirt, knowing just how much of a penny-scamming-bastard he was is important), and the game is still fun.
Also, as I played D1 before D2, when I walked into Tristram I immediately went around and tried to figure out what charred burnt out wreckages equalled the buildings I remember, like Ogdens tavern.
