Haven't gotten to it yet =/ my guess is that there might be another exit in the Tamoe highlands OR you just have to do it like you did back in LoD style.
edit: I'm not having troubles, I just wanna make sure I do it right on the first try ><

Well I finished act4 earlier. No special areas in that act from what I've seen (which is a lot, because I think I checked everywhere in act4 for an extra area) however you guys will LOVE the chaos sanctuary changes. No more iron maiden! Oh... but whats this? Monsters that use bo, poison nova and ice bolt and massively drain mana???
Just wait until you guys see the new seal monsters too, and as a hint, all 3 have their roots in the original game.

I suggest you avoid the Lost Farm. Go to the maggot tunnels in the far oasis. Its a long undergroun d network of the claw viper temple, underground maze AND the maggot lair. =/ Its very easy to get lost down there ._.

thanks,i thought i had to go through the lost farm... anyway is their anything good in there?
The cows have good drops. I have reason to believe that all "special" areas are supposed to be done after you complete that difficulty. From the Raven's Workshop and Lost Farm and Great Marsh of Pain, I have noticed that the drops are exceptional items (sometimes).

marsh of pain is rediclous, duriels standing all over.. i killed about 10 then i gave up
where do you find the brain at? is it in marsh? that would suck
I was laughing so hard when I cleared it. I could take on unlimited amount of duriels in that case, I can just freeze them completely with glacial spike then bombard them all with blizzard. Hahaha, sadly, nothing good dropped

Everything you will ever need to know about the game is in the ES database website. Maps, cube recipes, items, everything.
Make sure you guys all have the most up to date version. It sucks when I updated to the newest version, it deleted all of my characters. I had about 10 characters at lvl 60+. My Necro was lvl 92!!!!! WTF. I'm going to check to see if they were just moved to a different folder, and maybe they are recoverable.
i cant figgen find anything in those databases....... anything good you can do with the deciperers or dstones? is their any easy way to get perf gems or socketed helms? anyway to make a quick buck?

decipherers are used to identify ancient scrolls, and 6 (maybe 8) can be made into a single D-Stone. theres a huge amount of additions you can make to items with D-Stones, check the site. A quick buck can be made in the fake not factory located in the red portal on the Arreat plateau, the fake notes that drop can be sold for 50K a pop, not uncommon to get 2-3 per run. Base item upgrading is really useful too
any good low rune words with+ skills i have alot of low and med runes, also how can i find the items to put them into? best thing ive found was a 3 soc armor, everything else was a 1 or 2 soc weap/helm/belt. any easy place to get a 4 soc helm? im tryin to make the gemword with whirlwind and make ww sin (jewel p saph p rub p diamond). also could use a good runeword claw for mid and late game..

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

You will start to get tons and tons of socketed items once you get into NM difficulty. 4-6 soc armor, 3-4 soc helms, boots and gloves w/ sockets, etc.
Honestly, I think one of the best ways to play through the game is to not use runewords like in vanilla. Sets are generally waaaaaaaaay better, that is until you are in hell and you can afford to forge shit tons of items. But then you can still forge set items as well. Not to mention you can add sockets to set items fairly cheap as well.
For a low lvl sin, get a Vega's Elegance, then at lvl30 motoko's captivation, then lvl45 alora's shadow. From there, you should have plenty of unique items to take up any slack, and to replace the set as needed. Oh yeah, Sasha's Jaded Kiss really kicks some major ass, but I only have 3 out of 4 pieces of the set.
Hint: Play through the game on a couple of different characters at the same time, that way you get more useful sets faster. Then just put all of your set items and uniques into your shared stash and pick out the pieces for each class as needed.

agree completely, i can blaze through normal and most of NM with any class, because of the items you can pick up and store in your infinite stashes, to give away.
Also, the gem and crystal containers you can buy from gheed are the most useful items ever, they will store any amount of gems into it, and you can just extract them whever
