ok, i did a quick search and i didnt see this so i decided to post it. (sorry if its been raised before)

Ok.. so everyones been saying that the last class will be a ranged class. Also, so many people want the last class to be a dark one like the necro... and im pretty sure blizzard has thought about this as well.. So the perfect solution!

The Dark Ranger!




ok, now reasons being...
for those who have never played War3... Dark ranger was a hero class... it has spells like life siphoning and dark arrows which on the death of an enemy spawns a skeleton. Also, they look awesome and can easily fit into the diablo world.


So what do you guys think? I hope this hasnt been thought of.. coz i called it!

Also.. im feeling that blizzard is using some ideas from Warcraft 3 (plus i heard that all departments are working together)..

Already we kinda see some relating characters from war3 to Diablo...

Barbarian:

(ok, i know he summons beasts.. but he portrays somewhat a barbarian.. esp in some custom games.)

Wizard:
(I was trying to look for Jaina, but yeah, bloodmage kinda works as well.)

Monk:

(Ok, so the blademaster, although uses swords.. can still represents the monk through its beads and quick attacking? )

Witch Doctor:
(I know theres an actual witchdoc in War3, but this guys cooler..)

Dark Ranger:
(and vola! my guess of the final character.)


I know they are not obviously 100% alike with War3, but as you can see what im trying to say.. theres some relations...

So what you guys think?!

@OP: Are you seriously comparing the characters in D3, to the characters in Warcraft 3? Let's bring in people from Heroes and Might and Magic and compare them as well. No offense, but a LOT of games have these basic archetypes, so it's no discovery.

So you're saying that we should take that character from Warcraft 3? Are you serious?! Minor things that D3 now shares with WoW have spurred countless rants from a LOT of users. Blatantly copying a character, or even the concept of a character from another Blizzard game, would cause a literal shit storm.

Heya! mm.. i think you've missed my point.

I know that classes of any sort has derived from places like books, games etc etc.. but what i was pointing out is more of an observation.

Basically, i was suggesting that i believe the last class maybe a Dark ranger because it has both the range bow like attribute and the dark necro side to it. Also the fact that the class list still lacks of a range and dark character.

I further backed up the idea by showing that the character has already been thought of by Blizzard and since now that all departments are working together, theres a greater chance that this class would of been brought up. As we can see in Starcraft 2, many spells and even characters have been inspired by things from War3.

Now, dont get me wrong and think that they are simply going to take the dark ranger from War3 and plop it in Diablo3.. but i was thinking that they may use it to inspire them to create a Dark Ranger like character more suited to the Diablo world (so not an elf etc etc).

The other characters i showed was just some examples that shows slight connections between both blizzard games. Even takes spells for an example. In war3, blademaster can cast bladestorm (whirlwind). In wow, Warriors can cast Whirlwind, and now Diablo3 barb can cast Whirlwind.

So in other words, i believe that the final character maybe a version of the Darkranger through examples of inspirations from Blizzard games.

Its a nice idea, but what justifies a dak ranger that fights evil? It might be a ranger with some of the "Dark and black" elements but not a "Dark Ranger". Maybe a "Night Ranger?" lol xD

haha yeah.. well thats what i mean by Blizzard will modify it so it fits more in the Diablo world.

I guess the Dark Ranger will have the same reasonings to fight evil just like the Necro in D2 :).. Maybe the Darkranger is the Necros wife. lol

The necromancers are Neutral, they fought evil in d2 because they wanted to keep the balance of sanctuary. Someone correct me if i am wrong.

Oh oh! wasnt there a character called the blood raven in D2? Doesnt she have like a dark ranger feel to it?

woooooooo... lol.. maybe the dark rangers came from the same place where the amazon came from.. but then their babies married the necros babies.. and learnt the ways of evil the their babies became dark rangers.

Then diablo killed off all the amazons and necros so the dark rangers will revenge their death. LOL

man.. i know 10% of the Diablo Lore.. im sure u can some how fit them in.

Blood Raven was a captain in the Rogues of the Sightless Eye order i think.

She got curropted by Andariel and then became a Dark Ranger.

So technically she's a Rogue. There are no good or neutral dark rangers in Sanctuary only the product of evil. (like Andariel's curroption).

Ahh.. ok.. well i guess we just goto wait and see.. would be an awesome class to play though.. shooting from afar... surrounded by your own undead minions and then siphoning the baddies health slowly.. crap like that.. lol

Good idea for the class, but you are missing that it needs a melee weapon preference, because i recall blizz saying they dont want any class to be pure range because it takes them out of the action or w/e. (wiz is the example as they've said even without magic he has formidable melee)

so, ranger not out of the question, as long as it has some good close up spells or attacks to balance it.

yep yep, definitely!

They will definitely need to modify the Dark Ranger and that shouldnt be a difficult task. The Dark ranger could easy carry awesome evil looking blades (like the necro in D2). It can even share the monks hand weapons like claws..

Yes it is! o ya by the way im related to the real sheriff of Nottingham :), anyways that character class would be fitting to it but after looking at diablo 3 gameplay and thinking about a class that uses bows and such they would really need to change how a bow and the skills would work with bows to fit diablo 3 gameplay because fire arrows would be very very plain

Why would a ranger need melee spells? IF I'm playin a character with a bow im goona say TO HELL WITH MELEE IMA STAND BACK AND SHOOT AN ARROW IN Y OUR FACE!!! I dont care if there close to me or not ima use my bow 24/7...
