I've heard some pretty "out there" ideas for the 5th class, but boy does this take the cake! :mage:

Yeah because I'm sure that they took the time to draw it in, put it on random drops, and animations just so the barb could pick it up and shoot at beer bottles; you're right, im sure the 5th class will be a Druid/basketball player or something.

I've been reading up on all sorts of different views and the one that hit me the hardest was, every class is viable in far and close range combat... So a PURE range class is out of the question. A Ranger/ Assassin would be a good guess. That's just me and a lot of reading though...

Well, the barb doesn't have a lot of range but I can see how he can leap. But yeah, I would say like a Ranger, someone who could use a bow for superior long range, and if needed too, could pull out a sword, javelin, or a dagger. The reason why they probably haven't said anything is because they could be working on its melee aspects, and imo, would need the most work.

So, I was watching the VERY first gameplay video made, back in blizzcon 08?

When the only two classes were the Barb and Witch Doctor.

So I was watching it, and I noticed a throwing dagger dropped, and im like "oh cool that must be for the monk".

Then I got to thinking, Monk wasn't even released at that time.

So then I thought some more, well, what item could be dropped that could be used for a char that hasn't been released yet? So I kept watching and sure enough.

It was the short bow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhAVISPpNsU at 3:50

Does this mean the 5th class is going to wield a bow?

Could very well be, since the current 4 classes cant use a bow and it is speculated the 5th class was going to be a hunter/ranger.

Anyways, I thought it was interesting.

14 grades? Sounds annoying. Oh well I can't see them spending time on it if they are not useful.

Still coming up with the grades will be a handful.

    Cracked ruby
    Less cracked ruby
    Even less cracked ruby
    Finally ok ruby
A little more than ok ruby
    normal ruby
    Above average ruby

..... and so on and so forth.

I guess it will be easy in the end. 7 grades right there and they are clearly different and not confusing at all.

lol that's what I was thinking.

posted a message on no town portals = no rushing & awkward multiplayer?
    Quote from DryIce135

To me it seems that the removal of town portals means that it will be extremely hard to rush a character through the game the way that you could in d2. Unless there is a way to share a waypoint with someone in the game? Could avoiding game rushes be one of the reasons bliz decided to remove the town portals (as well as the stated reasons)?

Which brings me to a question. If I join a server with my friends, and they began playing about 30 minutes before me and have progressed a bit further than I am does that mean that I would have to take my most progressed waypoint and run all the way to where they are? even if they are standing right next to a waypoint (which i dont have)? no town portals could have some strange impacts on multiplayer imo. Especially in multiplayer games, it seems that on joining a server there is going to be a lot of running before you join the group and the action starts.

Imagine D2 baal runs with no tp's. If you join a baal run midway through the run by the time you get to the action its all over. Things dont seem right to me :/

They said that, the way the multiplayer feature is going to work is if you have a friend, you click like "join game" and you appear right next to him on the game world.

posted a message on I think...bliz spend much time
    Quote from "Ulisses" »
I think bliz spend much time doing stupid things ... is worrying about lousy female char and not finish the game. This is to be done at the end of the game ... I think. I'm sure that most of the players we are not concerned about whether or not going to have a female char .... I think first we must be done to the "thick" ... after the game is concerned with char feminine.
It is my simple opinion.
Sorry for the boldness and perhaps arrogance, I'm just a player ... but I think the game is taking too long ... Our beloved bliz is a company too powerful to take so long to finish the game. Because I think we are not talking about any manufacturer, but the Blizzard Entertainment ... then I expect nothing less than excellence, I understand that it takes time ... but so long?!
I hope everyone understands my point of view...^_^

    Sorry for my english...and failure.

Actually, in 2009 (possibly 08) they said most of the game is pretty well finished, they just need to do artwork, some more lore, and (yes) character modeling. I believe the exact words were "polishing up".

Announcing this being done is a good step to completion each character has like 1000? different animations.

Repair, Upgrade, appearance, mercenaries, transmute of some sort, a stat change of some sort, unlockables perhaps, and of course, buying items. These are all things that you could possibly do with gold in D3. I really dont see D3 ending up like d2 where gold was thrown in the millions on the ground. Blizz are working hard on D3, a good and stable economy is one of their top priorities. So i say, worry not my friends.

Respeccing, auction house fees and Socketing items/skills come to mind also.

I'm looking forward to see how the economy will work out. I just wish the game would hurry up and get here.

Right click on the patch program and click compatibility. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 2). Then check "Run this program as an Administrator" and hit OK.

This should let you run the patch, after which Diablo will have crazy color problems.

To solve the color problem, right click on your desktop and choose "Screen Resolution." Just leave that window open and run Diablo. Don't know why this works, but it does.

    HTH.

Wow man, that is awesome thanks for that info, tons better than the explorer.exe hack.

    Thank you

There has been no mention yet on whether the ladder/non-ladder system will be in Diablo III.

posted a message on when d3 comes out and you get it.......
I mostly just read posts, but TBH I read this site for news/updates (which its very good at) I probably wont read it as much when the game comes out unless they make forums for guides to classes.(i.e witch doctor pvp guide, wizard hardcore level guide)

If they do that ill be all over this site.
