This covers both my points ^:D...if he isnt doing anything then you can choose not to party (or unparty) him and then if you are the only one doing the killing then he cant get anything...

Furthermore, Blizzard said that the loot is also determined by space from the character and the kill, so if you are way ahead of someone in your party then only you will get the drops because your party member is not close enough...
Yeah.. and the fact that there will probably be only max 4 players in a party means that the group is much tighter.. there is no room for leechers, everyone should be on alert and contribute to the killing.

We've all heard how the loot drop distribution system works - you only see your own drops, so what happens if for example your playing a game and someone joins it, you then kill a boss by yourself and the other guy just runs arounds and avoids fighting.. will he still get as valuable as loot as you for doing nothing? that seems very flawed to me, shouldn't the value of your own drops be proportional do the amount of damage that you do to any given monster?
Whos forcing you to party with this guy.. I think he would have to be in the same party and same area to get any loot.

posted a message on My Plea to Blizzard - Don't screw us over with DRM!
    Quote from "Valtonis" »
    Totally agree!
DRM is just a way to screw over legit customers than prevent piracy.
the ironic thing is that pirates don't have any of the problems that legit gamers have with DRM.
if a game have DRM i am definitely thinking twice about buying it.
with D3 i'd think twice but for other games i won't get it at all if it has DRM
Yeah I just tried one game that had Starforce.. well it was an older game and surprise it didn't work on vista 64bit. Well I downloaded a patch for starforce and yeah then it did install.

But I had another problem, for some reason my dvd drive doesn't want to read dvd's anymore. So I had to make an image of the dvd with my other computer(linux). So when I tried to play the game it wanted my cd and the image wasn't enough for Starforce. Well that meant I had to get a noCD fix for it anyways.

All these DRM systems are just pain in the butt.. I know many people that just leave the game to the store if it has some kind of mad copy protection, because it only causes more trouble.

posted a message on item quality cap? :)
Well then you would probably make a summoner that can solo the game naked :) Hammerdin or sorc are a good choice too.. but barbarian or some other melee class .. sigh at hell. You are in trouble even with some good gear at hell.

If you use magical you could always shop some good cruel weapons but it would take some time, other problem would be AR and Leech.

I'm talking about Single Player and having to have the CD in the tray.
You probably don't need the CD since you can most likely buy/download Diablo 3 from blizzard store / battle.net (where you put your cd key of the game)

Blizzard don't probably worry about the Single Player.. those who really don't want to pay for the game can crack it anyways. Blizzard has a huge fan base that buys the game even if they don't play battle.net.

Battle.net is blizzards main focus now, they are expecting a lot of players to go straight to multiplayer.. where you of course need a real product.

Not true. They said there is a "guest mode". But I guess if its like other games like that, it means you can't save, etc.. which means you can't actually do anything. But I don't think we know the detail.
Guest mode probably means that you can't get any Achievements becaues those are linked to your battle.net account, cause I think there will also be single player achievements, at least in Starcraft 2.

I'm talking about ingame story :) A story that connects all quests and missions to one common goal. Most WoW stories are sidestories.

My point still stands, a good story is far from required to make a good game.
Yeah well the quests don't have any huge story. But the quests mainly relate to the smaller area that you are in at that moment. Some of them might have connections to earlier happenings. (dragons at wetlands etc) Also then there are the huge long quest lines that create the new story and also might be part of the old story.

Well anyways there is a lot of lore involved at wow :)

posted a message on The Return of the Tetris Style Inventory?
If Cain is sticking around like the boring fart that he is, identifying items in bulk for free, then yes, there's no point to unidentified items and it should simply be done away with. If it's like in Diablo 1 however, an expensive and cumbersome goldsink, it'll serve it's purpose well.

Well actually, whenever I found something that could be a godly item, I identified it immidiately to find out "what good I found!".. mostly ending in disappointment, but fun tho.

Don't worry about a new computer..(unless you plan to play some other new game) if the game release is 2011 or even 2012 you have a lot of new options and you will get as fast computer as some high end now with a lot less money :)

posted a message on Diablo III Release "still a long way to go"
Are you f*** kidding me? 11 years to make a slashing game?
Well it's not 11 years that they have been doing Diablo 3.

2001 LOD came out.. then the old diablo 2 team (blizzard north) probably started planning diablo 3 and started developing it. But was it 2004 when they left Blizzard. Diablo 3 was forgotten for a while but 2005 a new time started to develop it pretty much from scratch.

posted a message on Here's what we need to do to get our wiki #1!!!
Well about the missing things.. maybe there could be some smaller section about Classic D2. There are still many people out there playing it and many LOD players that might wanna try it but they don't really know much about it because the rules are quite different.

    posted a message on Healing?
Only way I could think some party healing was as a part of some damaging skill. Some finisher move on dying monsters that would heal the whole party when the monsters die. But I guess globes cover all the healing we need.

Blizzards main objective is that any type of party can go trough the game and we wouldn't have to make a compromise about party composition. Anything that can kill stuff is good.

idk what game you were playing
Yeah well try some melee char untwinked solo!

Everything went quite bad in 1.10 when you started to require uber gear for melee characters to get anything done in Hell.

Casters have it easier in Hell even in 1.10.

posted a message on "MF, additional XP, additional gold, speed increase, etc. on items"?
Edit: I'd also like to add that I think that everyone in a party should get the same XP, no matter the distance. Could this lead to people sitting in camps, leeching? Sure.

Furthermore, lower-level characters should always get exponentially more experience compared to their higher-level party members, to further help narrow the issue of someone else getting ahead in XP and then snowballing from there.
No thanks this would lead to abuses. If the lower level player gets more exp everyone would team up with a high level friend who would demolish everything in seconds while the lowbie gets huge exp.

Imo if you solo, you should get full exp.. while you party with someone it gets reduced 1/4th and eventually if we have max 4 in party it would be half of the maximum exp. Why? Well you kill monsters 4 times faster than someone who plays alone, there must be some sort of compensation.

This kind of system was in use before LOD and we all saw that there was no 8 player zerg fest parties that cleared CS in 1 minute. There was 2-4 player parties and then people who played solo.

posted a message on The teleport fix
Well I was reading another site and some dudes at blizzcon had been quite active to find what all the spells do.

    Tier VI
    (Requires 25 points in skills)
    Teleport
    Active Skill
    Rank:: 0/5
Description:: Teleport to the selected location up to 100 feet away. Teleport can only be used every 9 seconds.
    Mana Cost:: 23

This one has been seen in videos, but has not been testable for players in either Blizzcon. The main difference in the D3 version is that the Wizard leaps up into the air when casting it, and appears in the air at the other end, falling to the ground after they appear. This makes the spell less of an instant escape/movement option. Just in case that wasn?t clear enough, the developers have added a fairly huge 9 second cool down. They appear to be serious about not letting Teleport be the queen of all fast moving, item run spells!
Seems like they are putting some huge limits to Teleport as expected. In Diablo 3 it will only be a minor boost to traveling and going trough obstacles BUT the main use will be escaping dangerous situations.

Good change for the content skipping whats going on in Diablo 2.
