Well yes they most of their customers are the casuals.. just look at what wow have become. It sucks that Blizzard always think so much about the random retard, but never about the skilled player.
Nice notice. I think only way runes should be in game is this type of thing. No more full runeword items, but power up your existing ones and maybe with right combination you could get some sort of bonus(not too OP tho)Quote from "pernunz" »Just saw that there was a "minor lethality rune"
I think runes will work in the same way as gems, and there will possibly be runeword or rune-gem word comibinations, but they won't be so biased towards the high-skill players.
Instead of the 30 something runes there were, now we have ones like lethality, vitality, power, and varying levels of this; minor, moderate, mega (or something)
Lethality might be the equivalent of bleeding/open wounds in D2
Vitality might be life steal in a weapon, +vitality in a helmet etc.
Power Power Lethality might be something, but depending on the strengths of the runes used, will depend on the effectiveness of the runeword.
Also just saw the final boss in the demo dropped an Amulet. Maybe medallions are what charms have become
I can answer that. They said there will still be potions but there might be some sort of cooldown, not yet decided. Potions are now more like an emergency rarther than you drink them all the time. No idea about the mana tho.I've been wondering about this for a while and haven't seen an answer anywhere. With the new hotbar design and the red orbs for health; does this mean there WON'T be potions anymore? I have two arguments..
Yeyey just play D2 if u want D3 to be so much alike it.. rest of us can go to D3 and we don't have to worry about your whines in there.Quote from "Djinn_690" »now I'm totally depressed!
blizzard is taking out the heart and soul of diablo 3 and replacing it with one from WoW.
the art direction is WoW-ish, when i paused the gameplay video over the skills it looked like the 20 skill tab on the D2 skill tree has been replaced by some WoW-like skill system.
and now the PvP aspect of the game seems like its going to lean more towards a WoW-ish view rather than a Diablo view.... WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU BLIZZARD!!! (sorry but I'm seriously frustrated)
What made the Diablo series so great was that it kept you excited, and the PvP system was one of the most exciting aspects of Diablo. knowing that you could be killed by someone at any moment is part of the fun and it kept people involved with the game.
if u didnt want that, u could always make a password proteced game or put a level tab on ur game... easy as that!!!!
The Diablo II skill tree was one of the best damn things that ever happened to the Diablo games. because of it we where able to have many many builds of the same class, the builds seemed infinite. they where certaintly much more than anything the WoW skill system offered.
And the art, NO BLIZZARD ITS NOT JUST MUSIC THAT GIVES DIABLO ITS DARK FEEL!!! music is a huge factor in the equation but even more importantly is the color scheme. NICE COLORFUL RAINBOWS DONT FEEL LIKE "DIABLO" AT ALL!!!! no matter how eerie the music playing in the background is.
Blizz needs to take their heads out of WoW's ass and look into Diablo's instead!!!
P.S please excuse me for my language but I think I have the right to be mad as I am a "Diablo" fan who has been waiting for this game to come out for 8 years!!! and seeing them turn this game to something more of a non MMO WoW game is just disgusting to me!!
Some people have 5 accounts in wow and pay 5x per month in order to multibox (play simultaniously with 5 characters) many times they also put up 5 different computers so it runs smoothly. (compared to 5x wow on 1 computer)Quote from "sonicpld" »this is my point ...
in the past - i had 11 copies of D2 ... ( i buy them all ),
and i play simultaneusly with them on my PC's in home ( 3 PC under linux, with some diablos running on each of them ).
well - this was a greath fun , and greath time .. anyway - i wonldnt pay 4 play for sure ...
how much i should pay for 11 D3 every month ? - ROFL ...
Let Blizzard make their minds - beter sell D3 prety high , than every month pay for play !
if they wish some money ( greedy - let make it - something like 5$ at YEAR - i wont spend more for it ! )

But I had another problem, for some reason my dvd drive doesn't want to read dvd's anymore. So I had to make an image of the dvd with my other computer(linux). So when I tried to play the game it wanted my cd and the image wasn't enough for Starforce. Well that meant I had to get a noCD fix for it anyways.
All these DRM systems are just pain in the butt.. I know many people that just leave the game to the store if it has some kind of mad copy protection, because it only causes more trouble.

If you use magical you could always shop some good cruel weapons but it would take some time, other problem would be AR and Leech.

Blizzard don't probably worry about the Single Player.. those who really don't want to pay for the game can crack it anyways. Blizzard has a huge fan base that buys the game even if they don't play battle.net.
Battle.net is blizzards main focus now, they are expecting a lot of players to go straight to multiplayer.. where you of course need a real product.
Guest mode probably means that you can't get any Achievements becaues those are linked to your battle.net account, cause I think there will also be single player achievements, at least in Starcraft 2.

Well anyways there is a lot of lore involved at wow

Well actually, whenever I found something that could be a godly item, I identified it immidiately to find out "what good I found!".. mostly ending in disappointment, but fun tho.

2001 LOD came out.. then the old diablo 2 team (blizzard north) probably started planning diablo 3 and started developing it. But was it 2004 when they left Blizzard. Diablo 3 was forgotten for a while but 2005 a new time started to develop it pretty much from scratch.

Blizzards main objective is that any type of party can go trough the game and we wouldn't have to make a compromise about party composition. Anything that can kill stuff is good.

Everything went quite bad in 1.10 when you started to require uber gear for melee characters to get anything done in Hell.
Casters have it easier in Hell even in 1.10.

Imo if you solo, you should get full exp.. while you party with someone it gets reduced 1/4th and eventually if we have max 4 in party it would be half of the maximum exp. Why? Well you kill monsters 4 times faster than someone who plays alone, there must be some sort of compensation.
This kind of system was in use before LOD and we all saw that there was no 8 player zerg fest parties that cleared CS in 1 minute. There was 2-4 player parties and then people who played solo.

Seems like they are putting some huge limits to Teleport as expected. In Diablo 3 it will only be a minor boost to traveling and going trough obstacles BUT the main use will be escaping dangerous situations.
Good change for the content skipping whats going on in Diablo 2.
