Very interesting indeed.
Thinking about the trophy case...
My UDIE2 mod editor has an item store in it and it has all manner of odd things that you can't put in game. Such as an ear, tail, fang, horn, elixir, etc. There are also some quest items in game like the golden bird, the organs, horadric scroll, etc.
Maybe that was supposed to be a vault to keep the items after you've completed quests. As for the items that never made it in game, maybe they were things that were cut due to "time constraints."
Regardless it still doesn't explain the chat gem. -,-

I think it would be great if they had a My Little Pony Secret Level but I don't want a t-shirt like that. It is funny but nothing I would spend money to have. -
Oct 11, 2008viciousnugget posted a message on Character Stat AssigningDamn I don't even know what to say about this. This blows my mind and not in a good way. I always liked the fact that I could use charms and gear bonuses to give me the strength needed to wear my gear so I could pump my vita up. I always thought it was great to mow down hordes of monsters while some kid in the back is hollering "Where is your gear? Are you naked?" It was always a challenge to squeeze every last bit of strength from charms and such to make my toon fully strength glitched. I sacrificed precious inventory space to make my builds happen. I guess on the bright side now I can just load up on mf charms(if they even exist in d3) and mow through the hordes while Blizzard tells me what items I should wear. Pitiful what this game is becoming. Next up...auto skill distribution. This is a bad bad thing. I am having trouble seeing the positives of this system.Posted in: News

Oct 10, 2008viciousnugget posted a message on New Class Announced: The WizardAww man this is killing me. I am at work and the firewall blocks all videos and links. I only saw the char selection screen. I already know what class I will be. Wizard. Hands down. I love being the caster class. My first chars were always the caster type. I haven't even had a chance to see what all this fuss is about but I am sure as shit I will be a female wizard as soon as I get this game installed. Now that they have satisfied me the hard part begins. Picking a name for my little chica. I can't wait to get home and watch the new gameplay vid and all the screenshots.Posted in: News

The longer I sit here reading the news and thinking about it, The less I look forward to playing it. I just feel like it will be so much different and not in a good way. I was so excited the day they announced it I couldn't get rid of my stiffy but now it seems the honeymoon is already over before there was a chance to acquaint myself. I can deal with the graphics, I can deal with the colorful environment, I can deal with new characters. I don't know maybe I just can't deal with all this negativity that follows Diablo 3. It's starting to turn me off. I can almost see myself just getting the game to beat it and check the story out then hopping back on D2. I may have to force myself to like it just to get through it.Posted in: News

Jul 8, 2008viciousnugget posted a message on Diablo III PK and PvPPosted in: NewsQuote from "HaF_613" »PK'ing and Dueling are essential parts of Diablo, Especially in HC where I played. It adds a certain fear and adrenaline rush to the game and keeps you on your toes... I don't think the Diablo I style PK'ing should be brought back, but definately keep the D2 style. I don't think the game would be fun for so long without the PK and "PKK's" out there. Its a whole other element and it was always one of the things that kept my heart beating fast. Don't take that away. It was fair enough to give people a chance in d2 and it should remain that way.
I agree playing on hardcore and being hostile definitely made my browneye pucker a little. I have been both pker and pked. You win some you lose some but it definitely added a certain element that is missing from alot of games. If people want to say it is a waste of time and detracts from the main point of game, I ask this. Isn't playing a game a big waste of time in itself? I feel it is. I have wasted many years on D2 already and one of the things I enjoy is being able to fight my friends as well as random people. The only kind of pker I am not fond of are the hacker ones that tppk. That crap is just cheap. However it is quite fun to have a hostile mf game. I hope they keep some form of pvp in the game even if it a certain area in town that you must be in to attack your opponent. -

What might the max character levels be?
What plans do they have for getting Beta keys out to people like me?
I'd really like one of those. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I don't intend to read anything about it. I think it will be cool to see the movie not knowing what to expect at all. The preview was enough to get me wanting to watch it and I didn't glean very much information out of it.

What about if the explosion hurts you and your party? I think that would make it a very strategic skill not to be spammed.
They'd never do that though. You'd get guys in there that like to kill party members with that.
Back on topic.
I'd like to see the skill Blizzard and fanaticism make a come back. I know it isn't anything new and exciting but they were kick ass skills. Not only that but every blizzard game has a skill blizzard in it if I remember correctly.

In order to get the most damage out of your blizzard look at what it gains bonuses from. Those are the ones that need to be max. Ice bolt, Ice blast and Glacial Spike. Only 1 point needs to be added to cold mastery if your mercenary uses an Infinity polearm. Somewhere in these threads there is an explanation why more than 17 into cold mastery is a waste because cold immunity can only be dropped by 100% or something. I made a sorc with max mastery and another with 1 point in and it is absolutely true and tested. As long as your mercenary uses infinity and your cold mastery is 17+ then you are golden. Read what the description of what cold mastery is.
Cold mastery: Passive- Increases the damage of your cold attacks by piercing your enemies resistance to cold.
It can only be reduced so far before becoming ineffective.
As for the gear and such to attain maximum damage you'd need perfect cold skill damage on all your items with perfect cold facets in everything including a bugged (2 skill) Tal armor with a 5% cold skill facet as well as having 9 charms, a torch and an anni.
In my opinion you are due for a rebuild. I am unable to follow the link that you posted but the skills useage you stated above is not ideal.
1 into frozen armor, 1 into telekinesis, 1 into teleport, 1 into warmth and 1 into static are pretty much universal skills no matter what sorc build you are following. I have made many. I am just trying to share what I know with you.

The plague of LOD indeed. I rush people just about everyday. Then after I rush them they all want me to add them to the friend list. Not gonna happen. I don't need noobs spamming me when I am running baals or mfing. Asking stupid things like "What is thul rune worth?" and "Is spine ripper worth a hr"
The best time to play is right after a ladder reset. Almost all the people you see playing do it legit and have some amount of skill in building a character. Those are the kinds of people I enjoy playing with. The ones that are noobs are easily spotted and can quickly be squelched. I can't wait for a new ladder season to start.
@OP
I agree that paladins are overpowered when it comes to magic finding. With redemption aura there really is no need for a merc. The hammerdin is the only character I have ever built that can run a full chaos game without help from mercenary or other players. Not saying that it can't be done by another charater. I'm just saying it is the fastest and safest character to do such things with.
When it comes to dueling, in my opinion, they are not that overpowered. A skilled Bowzon, Wind Druid, Assassin, Necro, Sorc and in very rare cases Barbarians can smoke a paladin. A smiter with lifetap in duels is bad mannered and without it they are somewhat weak. Though for dueling purposes I'd say a smiter is more powerful than a hammerdin when played right.
I myself am horrible at dueling with my hammerdin. It's sorc or wind druid for me in that realm of the game.
It all comes down to who you are playing how they built their character and how they use it.

Of course it would need polishing and greater minds than mine to make it work and be balanced.
What determines the bonus of the craft or personalization would be many things.
The type of item would benefit each character differently. A spiderweb sash could be better for a wizard than it is for the witchdoctor. Also the character that is doing the crafting/personalization would affect the outcome, the bonuses would be slanted towards their respective abilities. More mana for wizards and more life or strength for barb. Another factor would be the quality of the item(rare/magical/unique) Magical items could have the possibilty for multiple affixes whereas a rare or unique could gain less because the stats already on it.
I didn't state before but the base stats on the item remain and bonus affixes are attached when crafted or personalized. At least that is how I imagine it would work. Like I said it needs polishing. lol

Personalized items should be bound to the character that personalized it. I agree with this. I think the amount of items you can personalize should be unlimited. I have always personalized my good gear. I even remade characters just so I could have all the pieces to that character bear the same name. That was a hassle in my opinion. Unlimited naming is what I hope for. They should also make able the ability to personalize rings and amulets. I hated that when I found a sweet ass rare ring that I knew I was never going to trade but not be able to make my mark on it.
If they do not make the items bound to the character after personalization then they should provide a way to remove a name from the item. It did kill the trade value of items.
I disagree that any kind of stats or bonus be applied to a personalized item. It should serve no other purpose than showing a person "this is my gear and no it is not for trade which is why I put my name on that som'bitch. It is my gear and no one else can use it."
I loved naming items and I hope they bring it back in some form or another in D3.
Something just came to mind. I started a thread about it a while back.
It's a bit off topic but still pertains to this. I think
If when you personalize an item depending on the type of item(shield/helm/boot), quality of item(magic/rare/unique), character that personalizes the item. Have that item then turn into a set item with a bonus according to your character.
If you don't get what I am saying I'll explain.
You are playing as a Barbarian. You find a unique barb helm. You personalize it and in the process the item grants +10 life and becomes a set item. Bearing the name of that character and is only useable by that character(soulbound). You also find a nice set of rare boots. You personalize them and it grants +50 def vs missles. The item becomes a set piece with that character name and is soulbound. With both pieces equipped you gain a partial set bonus.(+40 life, +1 barb skills, +100 def vs missles) The affix that is gained on the item would differ between rare, magic or unique. It would also differ depending on what you choose to personalize.(weapon/armor/belts) Set items cannot be personalized.
Set a limit of 3 items that can be personalized.
You may all think this is a horrible idea but I can see how it would be an awesome feature and would give more merit to naming an item after your character. Sorry if this was off topic but I think it is a good idea and I'd like to see it implemented.

I don't think wikipedia is exact at all. People can edit wikipedia. I should change it so that it is coming out tomorrow. No one would be happy though. The product is not close to being finished. When it is done is when it will come out.
I wish people would stop speculating and bringing up old ass topics. When blizzard releases that info I'll read it in the news forum.

Take for example Fable. It was a great game and had lots of room for improvement. I played it through 50 times easily. I boosted all my skills, I boosted none of my skills, I made wizards, archers, warriors, you name it. I played that game quite like I do Diablo 2. Fable 2 on the other hand. Looked amazing, the world was huge, there were so many more quests. I thought it would captivate me 10 times as much as the original Fable but it didn't. I played through it one time to get the story and that was it. It bored me. Something about it just didn't have that replay value quite like the first one.
So I am going to stick with I loved it at first but I don't now. I am keeping faith though. This is Blizzard we're tlking about and they do tend to make some kick ass games. I hope they surprise me with the end product. I hope it grabs me like Diablo 2 did.
