posted a message on Will there be a system that allows Clans or Guilds to be built within Diablo 3??
I really hope not actually. I've always preferred being a loner in the Diablo games, just using other people as a tool when I needed them, and discarding them when I didn't.
Though, I could still just not join a guild if there is a guild system so it doesn't really hurt me.

But, it does kind of break the story to an extent. i mean, story is (assumed) in the other diablo games, a party of 3(in diablo) or a party of 5/7(diabloII/LoD) went through the game together and defeated the diablo. A group of companions from each of the classes availible. This was assumed to an extent whether you played like that or not. So, having guild filled with hundreds of 'champions' kind of shits on that story element of just the party of a handful.

posted a message on Witchdoctors might summon zombies!
Well, the zombie wall pretty much is summoning zombies. but I know that's not what you mean.

but the class description, and what they said on the panels, point to Witch Doctors being able to summon zombies. Besides, it only makes sense. I would rather use corpse exploitation to make zombies rather than just summoning, but I guess you can't have everything.

posted a message on When do you think Blizzard will announce the rest of the characters?
I think they will announce a letter a week for the next year and a half. Not in any specific order, it will be up to you to unshuffle the letters and figure out what the other classes will be.

I mean, hopefully all will be revealed by blizzcon. personally, i can't wait.. i feel like they've been torturing me for ages not letting us know, even though D3 was only announced yesterday.

Also, I made it into a sig already. Go me. It still doesn't beat my old join-date to sig-quote record though..

Ah, thanks. I assumed that was the case. yes, damn people like me for coming in and straining the server...

Heh, the next months are totally gonna be ridiculous. I wish luck to the admins/mods, whatever you've got here that will be tasked with keeping it all under control.

And I drew the things in my sig. Also, just pointing out I am male, and that girl is just a drawing. Just pointing that out so no one sees the girl in my sig and assumes it's me, therefore making me a target of pick-up-lines aplenty.

I think that the different-colored monsters was a weakness because they didn't have a large enough bestiary to change it between difficulty levels and such.
Well, I think that was the reason for it, but I thought it was cool nonetheless...

Last I checked, WoW isn't a HAck N' Slash game
thus I said WoW is a diablo MMO, not "WoW is DIABLO III"

Ooh the color scheme is a little brighter that mean's they are trying to make it as un-diablo-like as possible!
First off, the color scheme was a big part of diablo.
But that's not it. Look at the armor design.. not very diablo like. Look at the character animations, and characters in general.. they seem exaggerated and absurd. The way they move is totally exaggerated and cartoonish, whereas in Diablo and Diablo II, people moved in what i thought was quite a realistic manner, for a fantasy game. I think that makes a lot bigger difference than the lighting. But uh, that's totally off-topic. my point is, the color scheme is nowhere near the only thing they drastically changed.

    ...
What are you on about? WoW was essentially a Diablo MMO with a warcraft glaze over it, as in, a lot of features from the diablo games were in it. But that was okay, since it was a new thing, not a sequel to a previous game.

I don't think Diablo III should draw from WoW, as the features of WoW(besides those ripped from d2) are features I genuinely despise.

    What are you talking about?
I think he's referring to how Diablo III looks completley different visually from Diablo II..
    *cough*

But let's not just make this another thread about that sack of disappointment.

Well, the gameplay trailer didn't have any really. They all seemed pretty average looking. I always liked how in Diablo and Diablo II you could always easily spot a more powerful enemy due to a ridiculous looking color scheme.

Despite the scenery being dark, dank, and gothy, a lot of the enemies looked downright flamboyant.

Do you think we'll see a return of this in Diablo III? i hope so.

Howdy howdy. it is I, Shiniku.

I'm in college. Game art and design major. As my sig pic states "I'm the guy what draws stuff".
    Drawing is cool.

Diablo is the first PC game I could call my own, and probably the first PC game I beat on my own. Diablo II was a... life changing experience. Changed me from casual gamer to hardcore gamer. I still play it to this day.

Question: I have the option ticked to view avatars, and there are a lot of things about avatars (like in stickies) but I don't see any avatars.

posted a message on Should rushing be prevented? How?
I don't see the problem. You know full well when you get rushed you'll be too weak to really do well later on.. so it's a poor choice. but, if I felt like getting a low lvl character up in the acts, for whatever reason, I'd like to be able to.

While Diablo is realistic, it's realistic only as far as it should be. It's not realistic about what monsters drop at all. Skeletons drop money and health potions; creatures drop armor; locust swarms drop all sorts of things. I don't really like Titan Quest's realistic system, I like the sub-realistic one, and I don't see anything strange or dumb about orbs. Orbs are used in all FPS games, ranging from fantasy FPS which do actually have floating vials, to realistic FPS with first aid kits. Considering how energetic Diablo is, I don't see a problem with orbs as long as they have an explanation, even if it's fantastic.
I guess. if someone explains them to me (even if cain just makes a one-liner about them) I'd be pleased I suppose.

But to tell the truth, I don't like the idea of healing in battle by any means other than potions. I kind've liked how I'd always hesitate to use a potion to heal my nicks and cuts.. because potions had cost, and value. Whereas you might as well just walk into the orb.
