It does look pretty sick, though my initial reaction was that it should be toned down. I can't really make up my mind. It looks cool, but I don't want every inch of the screen bursting with neon demonic energy.

Why don't you guys who like cartoony graphics and afraid of dark just play WOW. Diablo is not WOW, they are different games.

Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, but the general consensus around here is that anything even remotely similar to any aspect of WoW is immediately bashed, to the point of idiocy.

Example: Hmm..this new bag/inventory system greatly improves item space on characters, and would therefore reduce muling..WHAT? WOW HAD THIS SYSTEM?! OMG SCREW YOU BLIZZARD TIS IS DIABLO NOT WOW!!!!1

Blizzard always tries to keep the specs low enough for a lot of people to be able to play their games. I'm thinking I should be fine with my MBP. Geforce 8600m gt..I might just pop in another stick of ram.

But if they are going to make high runes as rare as they were in d2 there will be dupes, they need it make it better than a 1:100,000,000 chance of dropping.

YES. This was THE reason for duping, hacks, bots, and subsequently the ridiculous economy in D2. Blizzard should know that as Diablo players, we are completely anal about having the best we can get. (Evidenced by people paying outrageously for perfects when they could have something a few points weaker for a lot less).

The new Bond movie, out November 7th. The trailer looks pretty sick (007.com). Daniel Craig totally brought Bond back up to his rightful place as a badass. Fuck Pierce Brosnan, that's all I gotta say.

With all the crap coming out of Hollywood, I am really, really excited for The Dark Knight. I love how the director shunned CG effects for the real thing. Rampant use of CG really kills alot of movies IMO (case in point: Star Wars Episodes 1-3 looking like video games).

I disagree wholeheartedly - this would mean that all barbarians/witchdoctors/whatever would be identical when they reached a high enough level. Having different specialised "builds" for each character is the whole point! It means that there are more than 5 different characters: there are an almost infinite amount!

But how many of those are viable in Hell? Really not that many. To be an efficient killer, you almost need to follow the cookie cutter builds. More so if you're talking about pvp. (Though I'll admit I have seen some crazy builds that were very successful).

Making all skills effective wouldn't mean that everyone would be identical. You could still put emphasis on skills that you favored, and everyone would play exactly the way they wanted to, because they could.

That's what I want to see-the ability to play exactly the way you want to. I always see people calling for making the game more difficult. The way it is now, you are NOT free to play any build. Only certain builds are viable. Making it more difficult compounds this problem. I want to be able to play the game, not tirelessly run bosses for items so I'll have a chance of surviving.

I think that they could release new classes not through Expansions but through patches, I think classes and items should come through patches and actual content and HUGE updates should come through Expansions.

    ?

Ya know I really don't see why they couldn't do that. Just as long as they don't start releasing so many classes that uniqueness is lost.

A large, thickly muscled and leather-masked cultist draped a black, eyeless hood over the victim's head before pulling [B]a foot-long spike[/B'] from his sash. My mind searched for any possible use for this cursed nail when I noticed the immense stygian hammer grasped in his other hand. With one swift motion, he raised it above his head and drove the spike into the supplicant's back with fierce intensity.

I'm thinking that's what we're looking at here. Check it out at the official site's lore page.

Coming from LoD, five classes initially seems pretty constricting. Anyone else feel this way?

I'm hoping my beloved Sorceress makes it. We gotta have some kind of Uber Nuke Mage of Destruction. Extra credit for being sexy.

I agree with you, except for the Samurai idea. That would not fit Diablo at all imo.

That's what I would have thought if someone suggested a Witch Doctor class, but I really think Blizzard made a good job at making it fit, lore and design-wise. I saw Xiansai on the world map and thought it would be cool to see a class from all places on the earth.

I think I'm safe in saying Blizzard with go with the three "pure" classes: melee, ranged, and magic. Barb has filled the melee slot. I'm betting on some kind of Ranger, and Sorceress/Sorcerer being in.

Since the Witch Doctor is a magic-focused hybrid, the other hybrid will be more melee-oriented like the Paladin. I think a Samurai could be really cool.
