Yeah, but you can script it to when you first enter a (relatively small) area the hostility between them is triggered. It's just like Act IV, not all the barbarians died, in fact, most of the time they didn't engage until they were on your screen. I wouldn't say it's unlikely, but I wouldn't say it's as prevalent as every time you're in an area with beasts and demons.

I think that there should be fights 'picked' within enemies. Say you have demons and beasts on one map, why wouldn't the demons go attacking everything but demons, etc? I think it would be a cool touch to come upon a battle between two sets of enemies, definitely.

This is awesome. Revamping those systems was a great idea. Although the seven skills sound a bit Guild Wars-y, but that's okay, because Guild Wars skill system was great. And the traits reminds me of DnD or Fallout a bit, which is okay, because traits and perks work great! :D Customization is going to be epic. And people complained about auto-stats being a lack of customization.

I think you all took this way out of proportion.
One of your original points was about different levels of power and a gold economy and keepin' the mining man down. So I disagree just slightly, and offered you my thoughts, as did others. I'm sure it's less a slight against you and more everyone making sure their time and fun isn't going to be wasted. :3

The reason an economy doesn't work in the first place is ease of obtaining building materials and lack of customization of the end product. Also, we don't have a whole ton of people playing, so communism will work. You run into trouble when there's tons of people abusing the system or tons of people in general. In a group like ours, if there's a jackass we can get rid of him quickly and easily. IRL, not so much. A division of power isn't about the economy in this case then, and if we go with a simple democracy, that would probably be to everyone's liking. After all, you shouldn't get more power if you volunteer to be a miner or a leader, you should just be volunteering to do more.

As a conductor (which, as a transportation person) am I cool with building roads as well? I plan to have a mine track go between the main village and outlying buildings, construction areas, mines, etc.

Being red in a game like Minecraft is really the easiest way to go. We're all here to have fun really. :\ Community chests work and sharing works well.

Aw, cool. Can I be a Conductor? I really enjoy creating tracks and boosters and even more than that, keeping animals off it. :D Here's a video of my coaster if you need proof. :D

I may get in on this, but I won't be around as much as I'd like. Locally, we have about five people here on our own private server, so the majority of my Minecraft time will be there, but I may pop in a bit from time to time and help out. :3 I'll be ephsauce, btw.

They somewhat suck, but are doing well enough with the current restrictions placed on them by the Battle.net 2.0 system. The five map limit, size limit, etc. are holding some of the more creative people back, and don't get me started on the bannings that have popped up. I think it's going to get better, it's only been out a few months and maps are getting better and better still. :)

I'm still waiting for the mauls I've seen to get finished. >.< Yep, I'm one of those guys. And just like WC3 and TFT, I'm going to get my money's worth on custom games alone, by a wide margin.

posted a message on Imho I am worred about diablo 3.
I'd be more worried about tangible things, problems that have occurred with Starcraft 2 lately. The lack of patching in a timely manner, the Battle.net issues such as dropping, not being able to connect, downtime without cause, bad custom support, lack of chat channels from the start, etc.

I'm not worried about the game itself. Starcraft 2 was awesome, and I think D3 will be too. Diablo 3 isn't catered to niche people, it is what it is and it's been under the microscope for over two years now. It's not copy-pasta, you can draw those sort of comparisons with a lot of things. I'd rather have polish with a not so original UI idea than a broken new UI. It's going to look pretty on a high end machine, but able to run on something a few years old, as all Blizzard games do. That has been their philosophy for as long as they've been making games, I dunno why it's suddenly an issue. :\ The graphics for me are beautiful, one person said it was the "World of Diablo rendered to look like a painting." I agree.

I also believe the max player count hasn't been finalized yet, no? The level cap is also a ridiculous argument. If it takes you the same amount to get from 60 to 99, and is balanced around the game itself, what is the problem? Complaining for the sake of complaining? I'm legitimately curious.

EDIT: It makes me giggle when you say they were just copy-pasting to save time. If they were trying to save time, then why am I not able to play D3 before the apocalypse?

Copyrights. Sometime, some idiot gave the right to people to hold on to their crap for like, what, 100 years or something?

I liked them when it was 14 years and you're done, it's public domain after that.
Yes. That's what makes sense to normal people.

Of course, but it can be a right pain in the ass to accrue it in large sums. :( It takes fifteen seconds to mine one block with a diamond pickaxe. That's a lump of time.
