posted a message on Keeping the Action in ARPG
Interesting, personally I know the pain of having died and not having put up a tp. But it's never affected me in a big way.

I don't think that these mechanics will keep the action up or affect a huge number of players to play incessantly, but I do think they are interesting, and different.

Well lets face it, I don't follow Penny Arcade because I don't want to do what I did with CAD and read through their entire archives of comics just to understand any plot now.

And as I did with CAD, let me tell you, if you do that, you'll find it funny, the constant flow of jokes (very few of which aren't funny on some level) will make you laugh, and of course as you laugh you'll probably laugh harder at the joke after that one, and so on.

Also, as CAD is only written and drawn by one person, the reason it's politically correct is because he is morally a politically correct person? Nah it's not completely politically correct but I'd need a more defined example or explanation of what you think is politically correct about it.

Well I just don't get Diablo 1's story, why was Diablo there in thee monastery?

Also, you might want to add the hypothesis that bloodraven is the rogue and the Summoner is the mage.

On that note, I've never made a fire sorceress...

Well, they require patience to play... meteor-orb (Meteor and Ice-orb, though you probably figured that out) sorceress... Not particularly fun but can do tons of damage XD

Well to be fair, investing 100 points into one skill tree? C'mon! No other class gets that! The sorceress was unique in her own way and at the end of the day investing points into other trees is not that big of a deal. I mean, there is only so much you can do with 100 points (level 88 with 12 points from quests) in Ice or Lightning or Fire. You would branch out anyway to get Teleport or Energy Shield, or the Ice armours.

It forced the sorceress' to diversify and made the highest damage spectrum of the Sorceress, fire, a lot less viable. You can still use it to great affect, but you need to go into other skill trees to be able to do hell. It wasn't really all that bad of a thing.

Everyone would go fire! Most damage! (Lightning nearly always had a minimum damage of 1... meaning that sometimes you would sometimes hit ridiculously low).

The WW barbarian would also have to get Berserk for the Act IV hellknights and their iron maiden curse, and incase any Physical immune monsters came along, otherwise we'd have either full pure Zerkers or an extra 20 points to spend.

I follow control alt delete, an awesome gamer comic, as well as Zero Punctuation, an awesome game reviewer, though I always take his reviews with a big grain of salt, he criticises a lot of things and you've got to look over other reviews really.

I used to regularly read Cyanide and Happiness but eventually having to keep up with daily updates made me stop.

I advise you look into Ctrl Alt Del (CAD), it's quite epic.

Also, penny arcade expo is funny when I look at the occasional comix from them, but I never got into it.

Well I think that the atmosphere so far has been far lighter than diablo 2, or diablo 1, and that could be affecting your judgement of the witch doctor.

Also, I don't think it'll matter all that much what the 5th class is coz it'll be kickass anyways <.<
