Hey guys,
After nearly a month of constant testing and statistical analysis (I logged all my runs in each specific area in act 3 - exp, time, and elites). I used these stats to build the most effecient run possible. After testing and tweaking the run, I compared it to the all famous Alkaizer run. The outcome was the same every run: Around 20% on average more exp per hour then doing the classic Alkaizer run (Which I also ran through quite thoroughly and in the same fashion). Check out my short video, which I explain the run and share some of my findings. Feedback would be awesome!! Cheers guys!
ps. 20% of 10 billion xp (Paragon 100) is alot of hours of grinding act 3... Just sayin' -hehe.

And I couldn't care less about PvP, to me, the PvE aspect of the game is more important, but, even so, they are a hell of a company (or at least they were) and they take amateurish decisions like this one...

Basically they said they have trash developers and no innovation what so ever, and that this little blog post is supposed to make it all better. So saying you are incapable of living up to the expectations made by your betters is enough to allow you to keep your job... that's just great.
This game is truly dead now, with the post it might have well been the nail in the coffin. No prospects, no ideas, nothing fun or engaging. People were hoping that PvP would save the game, and kept playing with that hope at the center of their resolve... well that's gone now. I'd say "GG" Blizzard, but I'd be lying. -

I spent soo many hours (years!) looking forward to D3.. theory crafting before we even had anything to theory craft.
I've played TONS of D3 and for the most part enjoyed the time - so I can't really say that I think the game is a terrfic failure.
But does it / has it fallen WAY short of my hopes and dreams? Absolutely.
The last two months or so have been a "wait for PvP" time for me - hoping that my D3 love would be rekindled.
Now with this news.. I'm ready to really and actualy move on. Path of Exile is SO amazing (been in the beta for almost half a ayear and it just keeps getting better and better with every patch). I'll be playing the heck out of it.
I'm not calling D3 a failure, or a bad game. Its not. But its nothing even remotely close to what I hoped it would be (for me at least) while spending over a year of my life devouring every piece of development news.
I'll of coruse keep tabs on the game - I'll give dueling a try - I'd also be lying if I said I wont still be hoping / praying for a better game to come of it all with future patches / expansions. But for the time being.. I'm moving on to PoE.
Been fun hanging out here (not been around alot of late), espacialy during development. -

OneTwoSC posted a message on New Battle.net MockupThanks for your support again, guys. I actually added the public games one yesterday because that feature means the most to me. Of course it'd be nice to have more social chat features... but I think a big part of Diablo 2's success was named games, 8 player max, and dueling. That way, the game becomes a hangout. You're always meeting people and that keeps you coming back. Who knows if they actually planned that or not, but back then, no one was complaining about Battle.net the way that we are now.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Putting aside itemization (or w/e other) issues with Diablo 3 that may exist, if your only public interaction is auto-matching quest runs, that puts a lot of pressure on the game itself to be endlessly entertaining, rather than people creating their own entertainment. It also seems to lead to "zero talk" runs. Games like Super Mario, Half-Life, or even mobile games like Tiny Wings, are games that you go nuts on for a while, and then stop. However, games like Diablo 2, Counter Strike, and Warcraft 3 keep you coming back because of the community (in the latter 2 cases, custom maps did it for me!).
The auction house has also had profound effects. I think it's very cool having one, but man, the one time (in D3) I had to do a real trade with someone made me realize how much I miss that interaction.
My conclusion is that all of these slick technologies and efficiencies have made the game so streamlined that it hampered the community/social aspect, and so the game didn't build as much culture around it, in the same way older Blizz games (including WoW) did. But these are just my opinions... maybe I'm becoming a cynical grumpy 24 year old lol. -

Psychatog posted a message on Is D3 dying?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Chazzamuffin
Flashback: it's May 2012 and geeks are coming in their pants over a new release. The D3 RMAH has attracted much interest and investment, the storyline is new albeit terrible and gamers around the world want to power through the content, get the best gear and claim a victory over the domions of hell.
Flashforward: it's December 2012 and the dwindling Nephalem numbers are all farming A3, have given up trying to get a quinfecta hellfire ring and are trying to sell their warez on the RMAH to no avail. There is nothing new about the game, even 'new' builds are sub-par, the mindless purging of inferno has become monotonous to say the least and the PvP pipeline has become something that the development team use to lure children into their oversized automobiles.
What in the way of new content would lure gamers back to D3?
Could D3 ever live up to its predecessors?
Why on earth would anyone give a sh*t about paragon 100?
People say the community is still thriving, but it really isnt. Its mostly stagnated and dead, just at a much larger degree than most games. A game can stagnate and die with 100k concurrent users, its just weird and rare. Nothing apart from admitting they were retarded and completely changing the game via an expensive (to cover the costs of completely rebuilding the game) expansion to make it Diablo 2.5 will save this game.
Edit: Further Clarification- The game is fine as is, it is easily a 7/10, and is well worth the 40 USD or however much it costs now. But Diablo 2 was worth its weight in gold, and easily could have sold copies for 200 USD and still be worth every penny. PvP will NOT add more end game content than Diablo 2 had, that statement is the most ignorant Ive seen in a while IMHO. Crafting ALONE in D2 was more end game content than this game has all together. Runes / other socketing ALONE is more content than D3 has altogether. -

KageKaze posted a message on Patch 1.0.5 Inferno MP 0 - 10 Hit Points Chart WIPBased on your added Leoric numbers, I estimate his MP 10 HP value to be 193,196,863.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
His data is very unique and shows us what happens to Act 1 monsters, proving the jump to mlvl 63. His HP eclipses Ghom even though he's in an earlier act. (UPDATE:My raw HP graph appears off, think I used the wrong settingFIXED)
As you can see from the graphs, the increase from Base HP is HUGE becuase of the jump from level 61 to level 63 combined with the Monster Power HP increase. While the numbers are larger, the curve is the same and the jump in HP per monster level (aside from the initial jump at MP1) are all the same. I'd like to say we have our verified increase for act 3/4 Q.E.D. would just like to see more data from act 1 and some from act 2 to see if the jump to MP1 is the same value.

On top of all the ridiculous number of skill/rune combinations (see this thread), did you know that on top of that there 125 different character combinations? With 4 players, there are 70 combinations, with 3 players, there are 35 , with 2 players, there are 15, and obviously with just 1 player there are 5. (see combinations with repetition)
So if you add those combinations, there is literally 125 different character combos to kill Diablo.
Edit: *Fixed my math, it's only 125.

To get that image simply go to us.battle.net/d3 and type in "javascript:Nickname.open()" in the URL. So, wtf? Does this mean that there will be an open beta?

No matter who kills the mob, your magic find is what counts for the items that drop on the ground for you. So for example, if you have 100% magic find, and your friend has x% magic find, it doesn't matter who kills the mob, loot will drop on the ground and it will be at 100% MF. It's that simple.
So, theoretically you could jump in a game with the max magic find gear, do no damage whatosever, and collect fat loot.

Also, the people here are (generally) a lot more accepting and conversational. The staff here are really friendly and I can actually rely on everything that's stated in the news section to be almost 100% accurate. Not to mention the Curse servers are a helluva lot more stable.
