posted a message on Serious D3er looking for more motivated players
Hi! I'm making this post to see if anyone else aside from my group and I are looking for more to play with when D3 comes out. This topic is more for serious players, not really looking to casual it up even though it's healthier ;p. I'm more interested in finding people to play with who have interest in sweatshop style farming. If you're interested and have a lot of will power, give me a shout!!

I'm looking for the type of player(s) who:
    • Is available often and eager for team oriented play..
    • Works well in a team. co-ordinating is funnnn///effective. I don't care about your one man "forever alone" army.
    • Vent. blah blah <3
    • Fast and smart in game. As in super concentration followed by crashing in to bed when you're done cuz of the exhaustion from trying so hard.
    • Has some sort of successful gaming background.
So that's what I want from you.... Here's some info about me since, well, wouldn't it be nice to know who you'll be having sweet pillow talk with under the night sky you freaking fellow hermit?
    • I plan on taking 1-4 weeks off of work when the game comes out to devote to it. It's mostly to figure out which mode of play is the most rewarding (farming for moola, pvp, casual)
    • I'm fast/smart and a quick learner a small but successful pc background, since most of my competitive/tourney play has not been on PC.
    • The only recent popular PC game I've played is league of legends. It was the first MOBA/RTS I had ever played in my life. I learned enough after a few months of playing to lead a team to the top 200 of 5v5 premade players (that's like top 0.002% ish) when season 1 came out. We had a history of beating teams even in the top 50 on the North American rankings. I quit a while ago only because it was too annoying to require my teammates to all be online at the same time since many all had irregular schedules... I disliked solo queing, premades were a much larger sense of accomplishment and epenis enhancement.
    • Been waiting a few years for D3 since I decided that's when I would become a hermit again and crawl under my roof.
    • I'm a calm person who mostly thinks objectively when playing, and once I feel I've figured out the grand puzzle then I start to loosen up. I play for winning and speed and materialism and hope the pvp scene will have tons of fun shit talking.
Region: West coast. I'm willing to adjust my sleeping schedule if I find the right people, hoping you are willing to do the same.

Disclaimer: Just a reiteration that I'm looking individuals or groups who are seeking to add more to their group. I am not already part of a group because I'm not a part of any blizzard games, hence why I'm asking you guys. I'm part of offline serious/tourney scenes for other games, but I already know that I'm the only one in my community who wants/has the time to hermit with D3.

Like? Give me a shout. Nope? move along and don't worry about it.

Probably the funniest post I've read on these forums yet.. That is a serious list. Really, a month off of work? lol

I will play d3 on my Toshiba a305 laptop with a 15" screen, and enjoy every minute of it.. until i get a new computer. I'm not complaining. Been playing games on a laptop since 2006. I know, I'm hardcore. :P

Honestly a trackball?! I don't know how you do it. I'm on a Razer Copperhead and I love it.

I was top 150 in leage of legends 5v5 premades with this trackball mouse!!!!

Can anyone give their experience with wireless keyboards/mice? Are they a nuisance with batteries? Fast reaction? Accurate? Anyone experienced with razor?

posted a message on Preparation for D3!
I've been preparing for D3 since it will be the first game I'll be putting any major time in to in the past 5 years or so!! I have a list of things that I've bought for the occasion or still need to buy, and was wondering if anyone knows anything decent to add to the list!
Also, anyone else got a list of their own? : 3

I'm on a laptop with 17" screen using a USB ball mouse on a simple desk with a bed 4 feet from the desk.
[/] = already recently have/prepared for the occasion
    = still need to get

[/] Mini fridge within reach from chair.
[/] Programmable timed coffee maker within reach of bed for every wake up.
    [/] New computer chair
[/] Saved money so I can book off up to a month of work when the game comes out.
[/] Extra sheet to cover up window completely
    New headset for ventrillo
New bigger monitor for increased enjoyment of gore... any suggestions?
    Wired or wireless keyboard? suggestions?
New mouse? suggestions? I am fond of my ball mouse but I wouldn't mind a wireless one to play from the bed? worth it?
PJ pants (I don't own any!)
    Adderall
Pumped up paypal account just in case!

This list is absolutely serious. I used to game hardcore but never got in to WoW so I've been waiting for something that really interested me and D3 is the one!

Hmm, maybe I wasn't really specific enough with my initial post. But what I'm wondering is if you're going to grind for 3 months or w/e for a piece of gear.... Are you you a casual player? Do any casual players do this and if so, why?

So I read that the devs say Diablo is about killing monsters and collecting loot. A quest for better loot!

I'm just curious for other D2 players... what was your reason for getting better gears?? Since the game's announcement as being casual I tried to imagine myself playing casually, but still seeking the best loot I can. Then I began to wonder, what's even the point of casually seeking the best gear? That doesn't even make sense to me.

I honestly have never met anyone who didn't grind for gears for any other reason than pvp. As far as I knew, the casuals would just play other characters for fun and just eventually quit when they've gotten their taste of the game. Wasn't it the pvpers who played the game the most? Or am I wrong? Just curious, I only played D2 for like 11 months from patch 1.10 so I wasn't around for most of its life.

This is not a thread about qqing for "why hate on pvpers blizzard!!" I really just want to know what other people are expecting casual players to even want to do with a gear collecting game.
