posted a message on Will D3 bosses regenerate health or have timers?
there isn't an answer in your poll that i would even pick based on what we already know and how the poll answers are worded...

first of all the start of the leoric boss encounter seemed pretty scripted to me... I never got to test this as i never died against him... (le derp.. shoulda thought to test that) and.... never tested the town portal option... cause I'm pretty sure you could get away with a cast during that fight. I hope they just reset the fight if you do so. or some such cause that was a very gimicky problem in the previous Diablos. That alone would negate the need of needing bosses to regen hp at all.

If Leoric is anything like the rest of the boss fights they will have specific attack patterns. Though, I imagine that they will implement many mechanics you saw in WoW boss fights... and hopefully some awesome new ones

The whole regening life of bosses will also be countered by them enraging... And if what they have been talking is true.. they'll have interesting enrages that won't necessarily kill you.. but definitely make things harder..

The only way I see them adding a meaningful 'regen' aspect to a boss is to enforce a gear lvl (which again enrage timers do just as well) or create an interesting fight. So if there is a boss like that they will be few and far between.

We'll likely see some pretty neat stuff tho on the boss fights.

Why wouldn't you want bosses like WoW? Previous boss fights in the diablos were pretty dull looking back as you could TP back to town effortlessly (most of the time) and restock on pots essentially having infinite heals. The only fight that had a meaningful fighting mechanic that made me change the way I played was diablo's red lightning. All the otheres more or less were run up swing till they die go get more pots as needed. WoW bosses actually had moves that if you didn't at least actively try to avoid you died. I don't know about you guys but running up to a boss and facerolling on the keyboard till one of us dies doesn't appeal to me nowadays.

edit: upon seeing who posted this.... and seeing their avatar.... I feel trolled... good day XD

i think he meant it as you can experiment/theorize in practice instead of on paper. not to mention most variations of skills do more than change their color.

not sure about you... but playing x hrs to see a build come to fruition when i had done it many times before with the same class was NOT my idea of fun

posted a message on Why all 2 hands weapons are so slow compare to their 1 hand counter part?
lotta theory of theories about weapons no one knows about :P. there's so many build/gear possibilities out there that until we get some experiance using all the skills and learning the finer apsects of their stat system that all but the simplest legitamate theory crafting is moot.

i think a lot of these questions of what skill and what type of weapon will be answered by combination of preferance and best weapon available. i also think best dps builds, while great, will lose a lot of their charm come inferno and will be a secondary concern to utility if rumors are to be believed.

posted a message on How long do you think it will take you to finish Inferno ?
i imagine it will take me quite a damn while. why you ask? im going to be playing a hardcore char pretty exclusively. im not going to go back and farm unless absolutely nessesary. i plan on dieing but hope i dont :D. seeing how no one ecen knows how difficult the game (even from the start) will be and seeing how blizz will want their game to have longevity to up profits on the rmah i cant even imagine how long it will take me, but i do know one thing.... its going to be awesome 8D

I think they're doing it right this time through... make accomplishments the focus... not the drool inducing exp grind. Sure, with accomplishment grind comes gear grind, but gear drops are half the fun in the game imo :).

posted a message on 4 weeks until i beat inferno
I hope there isn't a legitimate way to beat the game in 2 weeks even for the power gamers.... but I'm afraid that is false hope XD.

I'm likely just going to be playing on hardcore for the rush of it with some friends. While we'll likely be moving through content a good pace, I just really hope its not too easy!

posted a message on Long term fans
I'm sooooooooo ready for the game. I'll admit the first pics I saw of the graphics I was a lil put off by the wowishness and color scheme. Other than that I've been super hyped about it from the get go (aside from thinking it was going to come out last year....). I avoided the beta till the open beta last weekend and everything seemed great... I hardly noticed the graphics / color scheme... and if all else fails I can always try that filter that's been going around.

I really like almost everything they've done tbh... I think a lot of the nay-saying comes from a lotta kiddos who played the @#$% outa d2... Don't get me wrong... I played the @#$% outa d2 too but after awhile the whole 'planning your char out before you even start' thing really wore on me... I think a lot of people grew accustomed to it and because the char options were more or less final that endgame chars that were successful people had a lot of pride in cause it took so much work. And now they're more or less taking that away from them. I think its awesome but yea I can see why that would make a lot of people angry. People like that keep saying they dumbed the game down... but in reality they just made it less of a time sink in a really good way.

posted a message on What are your thoughts on the voice acting?
    Quote from aldrek

It's fine. Sometimes it's a little over the top (Templar) or cheesy (Skeleton King: "Yoou will never defeat meee!" As if every other villain in the world hasn't said that already). The Templar himself has kinda become a running joke with his crazy lines.

    JONDAAAAH.

I thought the Templar's voice / lines were quite fitting for an over zealous religious knight. They were over the top and made me laugh... but come a harder difficulty *crosses fingers* they might actually warrant his over enthusiasm :P.

Over all I thought the voice acting was pretty dang good. Not Bioware good, but easily passable.

whats up with all these MF stacking peeps feeling so entitled?

obviously theres going to be a sweet spot of magic find vs stat gear that will make things go smoothly while farming. if things are going to be as rough as they say in inferno and youre stacking nothing but MF sure youll be contributing if your party can even kill anything or kill at a decent pace.

oh and as far as sharing MF? youve always had to share group dps / survivability what makes this any different?

Whether you have all MF gear or no MF gear... you're both slacking in some regard in someone's eyes.

    debate ended.
