blah you're prolly right bleu... I guess I was setting my expectations too high... that being said its been kinda a downer so far for me because of that

OH but I have definitely liked the class vids they've made.... even tho they have the EPIC movie voice narrating them lol it just seems kinda outa place to me

I have mixed feelings on this. Sure the infos they talk about (outside of how much sleep they get a night... their favorite color and such are) is kinda interesting... to a pretty small portion of the population (I find them interesting but not worth waiting for or doing anything to unlock them). Not to mention.. these dev diaries are a year old and them talking about SOONish deadlines 4th quarter possible releases and stuff kinda rubs salt in the 'its six months later and I'm still not playing' wound.
(oh and before I forget... a page from a book people have had so long the pages are probably stuck together by now)

I would be happy with some footage of some inferno game play or heck... anything but what they've been giving. Some devs talking about some in game stuff that actually made it into the game would be nice. Or talk a lil about some of the general stats that are going to be on items you're going to find and why they chose them and how that will make the game interesting and spark creation w/ character ability setups. Heck I'd even like wallpapers more :)...

All in all.. if this is supposed to be generating hype... EH... not so much

Jerks -nerds or not- have always been in video games. especially online ones because of anonymity. I do agree that it is more prevalent now, but online gaming is also more popular.

Typically that kind of behavior only shows up in competitive games though. A prime example of this is in the fps, DoTA or LoL community.

I set my gf on D2.. took her a bit to get it down but she has become an addict... lol (bad timing to as she has finals coming up)

I feel like if they made a pop-up after you click create character (hardcore being checked) and it stated the hardcore rules with a lil box in it that made you type "hardcore" that would be sufficient... That would take care of all the misclicks and whatever they feel like they're protecting people from.

I hear what you guys are saying, but saying I should be thankful for wasteing an hour on a char i will likely delete? gemme a break its there solely for lil Timmy so he doesnt get his feelings hurt when his first char is a hardcore char cause he can't read and can't acuratly click on anything and checks the hardcore option. If the warning doesnt stop them they either are too young to read and therefore too young to play the game or need to check into Zoolander's school for people who can't read good.

I know it won't take long... but I mean.. I kinda wanna experience the game totally from a hardcore perspective... not knowing what to expect form things down the line before I run into them.

I'm hearing you have to level a character to level 10 before you can even make a hardcore character... What gives? Why would they make something so arbitrary as level 10 to say "GOOD SHOW BRAVO now you can make a hardcore character!"?

On the Darkness Falls Heroes Rise site it prompts us to Reveal Dark Secrets... we reveal them only to find... indeed, Dark Secrets... like the sleeping habits of Blizzard developers a year ago :P.Perhaps next week we will discover their favorite colors or favorite brand of toothpaste.

I was wondering if gearing was fun, had flavor, randomness, and synergistic qualities (towards certain builds without having a straight up modifier to a particular skill... like +20% dmg to cleave). Reason I ask is lately gearing has been verrrry formulaic coming from MMOs and other non MMOs have been adopting these ideas. (as in... oh look I got the next teir of gear it a lil more of my main stat... some more stam and a lil more of a couple other stats than what I previously had!). Please tell me that they are following at least somewhat close to D2. If they stayed with the D2ish style are the prefixes and affixes fun cool engaging?

I have not been in the beta nor seen any of the items (saving it for the game ).

Not sure how I missed it, but the cover art for the blizzcon 2011 program had a female-ish likeness of Diablo... Why Blizzard why!?!? Can we not get some spoiler alerts? Even if it isn't spoilerific its an immersion killer. Now I'm going to be playing the whole game looking for female chars going hmmmmm she might be Diablo.

On a side note.. the 3 franchises were present on that as well... and a set of glowing eyes... profject Titan anyone?
