Bashiok made a comment that the korean rmah wasn't entirely the reason for delays and then deleted the comment. The gist of what he said meant that the korean rmah definitely did play a part in delaying the game, but that there were other concerns as well.

I still believe that if the rmah didn't even exist that we'd all be playing d3 release right now.

I'm hoping they release it in february at least. If I see a march+ release date I'm gonna bertstare my computer screen for a few hours.

I wish they would just answer the question half the players actually want to know the answer to: If you live in EU/Americas, can farming teams in Asia sell things on the auction houses you use?

It seems like they are trying to prevent that from happening, but they aren't sharing all of the information with us.

I don't buy the excuse of them wanting to further improve the game. They will always want to do that. They will be doing that for years after release. They already stated (before this rmah mess) that the game was basically done and ready to play...months ago. You can't blame the rune system or anything else. Odds are 5 years from now the rune/gem/whatever system will be different anyways. Just look at their track record with WoW. If they had waited until they tweaked the talent system completely (with what's in MoP) then World of Warcraft would have had its initial release date in 2012 instead of 2004.

It's a bogus excuse. Only now (after the korean rmah mess) have they changed their tune that the game needs more tweaking before being ready.

I'm still gonna buy it. I'm gonna play the hell out of it for sure. But let's be honest here. These delays were not necessary and if they weren't scared of angering the korean player base they would go ahead and release the game. If the rmah didn't even exist then d3 would have been released in December 2011.

As for delays in other countries like WoW in China...completely different beast. Look at it this way: If Blizzard has the chance to release D3 at the same time in Korea/EU/America, but they have to wait 1 month then they'll wait. If all of a sudden it was a 9 month wait then they'd probably go ahead and release it. We have a situation here with korea has delayed the release by only a few months so they're waiting. If it was gonna be a year or something crazy then they wouldn't wait.

You wouldn't see Bashiok or anyone else admit this because it would only anger eu/american players that are already angry enough about it taking so long. So they cover it up by telling a half truth: the game needs more tweaking (which it always will for the next decade) and that because of that it's being delayed (the half that isn't true).

Why are you visiting a site like this if you don't want spoilers? You shouldn't be looking at any d3 related site at all if you want a 100% fresh experience when d3 releases. Every single post that's ever been on this site has been a spoiler in some manner.

I expect to cover my internet bill with the rmah. Seems reasonable enough.

I spent so many hours playing D2. I trashed or let rot an enormous number of items and piles of gold. So many lvld characters. Even if I only ever got $1 for those things I could have bought a new car.

Rot or profit? easy choice

I could care less about this in a game like diablo. Maybe in WoW I choose to do things for maximum dps (since others are depending on me), but with diablo I use what's fun because it's 100% my time. I'm not wasting anyone else's time.

If any other people in other situations put a date on something for early 2012 you would assume jan or feb at the latest. If I told my grandmother I'd visit her in early 2012 I wouldn't show up in the spring. If it was feb 2012 and your girlfriend told you her period was due in early 2012 you wouldn't wait until march to start worrying.

everyone assumes jan/feb whether they admit it or not and blizzard knows this. they know that's exactly what their implication is when they say early/beginning 2012. if the release date is in march or later it will be an enormous disappointment to everyone. even if it's not in the first two weeks of feb it will still be a disappointment. doesn't matter if you can argue that march or later is technically q1 or early 2012. everyone automatically thinks jan/feb and blizzard isn't clueless to this fact.

millions of people buy video game items. they usually don't talk about it. they don't want to be ridiculed.

I don't see the big deal. D3 doesn't seem to punish dmg/defense that much by using mf considering that mf could replace a silly stat that isn't too useful.

What's bizarre is how people seem to think that blizzard is forcing them to play with dbag strangers. If you play with leeching strangers then that's a choice, not a requirement.

if you look at the 4th pic you'll notice they use the word 'training'

they are clearly ripping off WoW as that word appears numerous time throughout the game
