posted a message on Gearing a WD in Hard core?
I will tell you my story and hope that this will help make decisions.

I started HC from scratch 2 weeks ago. Leveled all caracters together up to 50. I wanted to carry my monk all the way up to lvl60 but i lost him due to a 3sec spike lag and got owned by a bunch of crap nagas in the basement of the Alcarnus outpost.

So, i took my Dh, and brought him up to level 60. Bought for 500k of MF/MS gear (got approx 385% MF and 22 MS) and farmed a leoric signet (drops on act2 normal you can check on internet for tips on how to farm it). It took me around 10 hours to farm it. I sold the signet for 15m.

Took my barb, brought him up to lvl60, spent 10m on gear so that i could start farming inferno act3. After killing the first elite pack on my first solo act3 mp0 run, a nat set boots fell from a trash mob. The boots have 55vit, 265dex and the usual nat stats (72 allres, 12% ms and reduced damage from meele). They are worth over 500m on SC (i did not find anything comparable on HC as the highest boots i found was worth 88m and only had 195dex with no vit).

That being said, you have the choice of trying your luck on inferno. You might have my luck and get a fuckin expensive drop that will get you rich after the first trash mob you kill. But, you risk loosing your caracter since 500k is not enough to make your wd viable. You can do as most newbs do and keep farming act3 hell for days to get enough money to buy yourself a decent starting kit. Or you can level a monk or a dh and safely farm a leoric signet on mp10 act2 normal.

About your manticore, i don't know exactly how much it is worth but you can't expect over a couple millions i would guess.

    Good luck to you

posted a message on Barb needs help on build and gear
Those are the pieces of gear i would recommend you to get as you are starting as a WW-barb:

    - Use a mighty weapon
    - Buy a belt with life steal (preferably IK belt)
    - Use a shield with high crit %

I would say that those are minimum stats (unbuffed). Of course, some things can differ if you use loh or whatever.

    - 30% cc
    - 40k dps
    - 40k life
    - 450 allres
    - 8000 armor

If you do not meet those minimum requirements, gear a bit more.I got just a bit above those stats (no life on hit) and i can farm act3 mp0. Of course, i need to be careful because some affixes are still dangerous (especially in tight spaces). I geared my barb for 10m. My profile is Moontracker#1833. Also, those are the minimum stats that work for me. I don't know how much experience you got running with a ww barb. I got a lvl52 sc paragon barb and i am an experienced gamer. If you are not experienced, youd best be careful and get higher stats.

The usual way a ww barb dies is from being fury starved when in the middle of a pack. Always keep as much fury as you can (break a lot of jars on your way). If you ever encounter a bad affix combo and you are short on fury, you are asking for trouble. This is the reason why i recommend you to use a mighty weapon at first. If you ever get starved, using a mighty weapon will refill your fury and enable you to get out of trouble. I also use bash "instigation" for the extra fury regen.

    Quote from jejeba86

hey! just created my account here to congrat you for the nice build. I'll try it and see what I can get!
But.. I can't buy the full IK set right now.
You told it was not unfeasible, but very nice to have.
Could you elaborate on your opinion of no IK 5 piece?

As stated, the 5 piece bonus helps but it is not something you absolutely need. You either need to have Unforgiving or the IK 5set piece that is a certainty. If you run out of fury, it will slow you down a lot, if you monitor you fury decently, it will not affect you that much.

    Quote from JKlimek

Furious charge and sprint seem to be redundant. Are you using furious charge as an escape, a mobility skill, a fury generator, or ?

I do like the versatility of this build and will try it later.

It could be used as a mobility skill if as stated by Kyoob, if used on long distances. I use it primarly as a fury generator but it also deals awesome damage by itself/tornadoes and life return at the same time.

I did not mess a lot with other secondary generating fury and have not tried dropping fury generators for other non-consuming skills like revenge, overpower, ignore pain or even an odd choice like earthquakes mountain call. I guess all of these could work if you can manage fury decently. One thing to mention is that since merciless assault as short cooldowns (from 10 to 0 sec), it means that if you get fury starved, you will get out of this situation more efficiently.

I deeply encourage you guys to post comments, build variations or even streams if you want. I wont be playing D3 as far as the 8th of febuary since i am very occupied by work right now. When i am back, i will mostly play hardcore but when i feel my connections latency is bad, i will turn on to my SC barb and see what else could work.

Thanks to all for posting and keep the post running.

posted a message on "The Unforgiving" HOTA-WW build hybrid
First of all, id like to say i am not newb to diablo3. I got around 1k hours played and got all 10 caracters to level 60 (5HC-SC). My SC barb is level 52 paragon. Sorry everyone about my english, it is not my first spoken language.

Being away from home (and from diablo 3) for two weeks, i tought this might be the right opportunity to start a discussion about an hybrid build i have been developping and found very efficient. The meaning of efficient here being relative as you all know, it depends on what you want to achieve.

    1. The build

This build as the title involves, is an hybrid build between the HOTA and Tornado-WW build.

    "The Unforgiving build"

This build maintains the core skills of the WW build but drops both common WW active fury generators. Those fury generators are replaced by other fury generating means: Unforgiving, Immortal kings 5set bonus and merciless assault. The build can also work without Ik 5set bonus or Unforgiving but result in efficiency loss. Altho it might seems like dropping the primary would result in fury starving, this is not the case. (altho you can sometimes lend a few normal attacks if you dont monitor carefully your fury)

I would recommend this build to barbs wielding a Skorn with a full IK gear since this is where you are most efficient.

    2. Requirements

This build as the same requirements as the usual Tornado-WW build but it is best played with a 2H imo because of the punching impact it delivers when using HOTA. My barb at paragon lvl52 as the following stats (approximate values):

    - 160k unbuffed DPS
    - 50% crit chance
    - 8.5% life steal
    - 40k life
    - 600 allres
    - 1.2 IAS

    3. Its usefulness, pros and cons

Basically, this build takes its place somewhere in the middle of the Tornado-WW build and the HOTA build. I did not monitor everything deeply but my testing proved this build to be successfull. I am having a blast playing this build. I would say that this build would best be used for key farming and high mp runs.

Its pros are basically the same as the Tornado-WW build, lots of life return and mobility while also having the punching impact of the HOTA build.

The cons compared to a WW build are loss in berserkers uptime and occasionnal fury starving resulting in mobility loss due to the fact that you cant cast sprint. If you count Templar with Inspire, you get 5 fury/sec regeneration. Since sprint costs 20 fury to cast, if you are out of fury, you need to wait 1sec in order to cast sprint again. Also, since you drop your third passive for Unforgiving and War cry for Merciless assault, this results in less survivability. Another thing to mention is that Ice climber boots are usually considered BIS for barbs and since you want to have a IK 5set bonus, you need to trade those for IK striders.

The "myth" of the 2h not being able to sustain WOTB must be adressed here. Dual-wielding yelds better fury regeneration thus resulting in higher WOTB uptime. But with my barb, i can maintain WOTB almost indefinitely with only 2 mobs on the screen while wielding a skorn.

    4. How to use it

Basically, the idea is to activate Battle cry, sprint and then go trough with merciless assault (spawning tornadoes on the way). Afterwards, use the usual ww-sprint combo until you get full fury. Then, stop and Bash things to the ground with HOTA, rinse and repeat. One last thing to mention is that when there is not a lot of mobs on the screen, you dont want to use HOTA until you are empty because this is where you will be most fury starving and the result will be you, using basic attacks thus DPS drop. This issue can easily be avoided with good fury monitoring. Never empty your fury using HOTA.

I choosed to replace War cry for Merciless assault because it is the best fury generating secondary skill. It is basically spammable when there is a pack of 5 mobs resulting in high fury regeneration. But, War cry would still work very well.

    5. Pushing the monitoring further

I have not been testing fully trough that build idea. I hope i did not forget to mention anything in this post but i would be very glad if some people would try-test and offer feedback, comments and constructive critisim about this build. I have all it takes to make a video of me streaming trough mp4-5-6 with this build but i am not used to this kind of stuff and i am pretty sure that some people would gladly do this and put it up for people to see how good (or bad) this build performs. If you are interested in seeing the build in action, you can message me in game (game tag: Moontracker#1833). And btw, i am playing in HC right now and passed my gear to a friend of mine so you will not be able to check my gear atm.

posted a message on Tips for new people getting into hardcore
For those of you who are looking forward to playing hardcore, i wanted to share my experience. I guess i did pretty well (although i lost 2 characters, a monk at lvl52 due to a 3sec lag and a wizard in hell act 4 because i entered a boss event alone in a 3 player game) considering i had 16m in my pocket after 35hours played on my highest toon.

So, first of all, i would recommend leveling all 5 characters at the same pace (if you are looking forward to level all 5, if you only wanna level 3 apply the same rule). This will help you always have good gear since you will be able to transfer gear between toon and will not be "out of space" in your stash. Level them all up to level 50. If you loose a caracter, you will also be able to play another one without having to start from point 0.

Afterwards, i would recommend choosing either the monk or the DH (the barb could also do the trick but would be a 3rd choice) to make it up to level 60. Why not a wizard or a WD? Because they cannot reach the same farming pace. When you reach lvl60, buy yourself MF gear (stats don't matter). Do a MF budget build and cap movement speed (buy hammer jammer, slave bonds or any other items helping you reach as high MS as you can). I recommand not going for an amulet for MS since you can have a lot of MF on amulet. Spending 500k, i achieved around 400 MF with 5 NV stacks and 22% MS.

Afterwards, go farm a leoric signet on act2 normal. Check on internet for details on how to farm them. Took me about 1 day of farming to get 1. It sells for at least 10m (sold mine for 15m). Afterwards, you will be able to do budget builds on all toons.

    Have fun l;D

posted a message on Looking to sell my account
I am as most people getting bored of the game so i am looking to sell my account. I would ship my CD with the cd key. If anyone interested, let me know.

All SC toons are lvl60. Barb is plvl52 and monk is plvl41. All other toons are between plvl15 and 20
All HC toons are between lvl 35 and 40.

My barb can solo uber at least mp6. The amulet he is wearing is probably the most expensive of the items i have. It was worth at least 1B last time i checked.

Here is the link to my account.

I would recommand something like this:

    http://eu.battle.net...XiSO!ZgU!aaaaZc

Arcane torrent disruption gives extra damage to attacks made by your arcane orb and arcane hydra. And with enough APOC, you can replace the signature spell with arcane torrent. I think she would do fine with her gear.(if apoc is enough i just can't remember how much is needed)

yes, nice build, but should change CM for astral prescense i think

You are probably right since she only as 7 apoc.

Let those people polish the game for god sake and stop pushing them in the back... I don't wan't them to release a half way completed game. I'd be happy there would be twice the content even tho i would have to wait another year.

Another crybaby thread. First people crying out loud this game is taking so long to be released. Result, Blizzard releases the game before its finished. Then, more crying because the game is ''crap''.

Now im getting a bit tired of cry babies like the op. STFU already and let Blizzard finish the damn game. It's not good right now stop complaining and let them do what as to be done...

Jesus, im so sick and tired of this new generation of gamers... If you got nothing intelligent to say, don't say anything. Close this thread.

posted a message on MP1 and experience (also Leoric vs Cain's set)
Leoric signet ftw. Actually i would recommand to anyone reaching level 60 to farm for lacuni and boots (or tyrael's might) to cap movement speed and then go right away farming a leoric signet (or even 2) on mp10 normal. The first is used to level up, the second for sale (20 million). The 20m can then be used to gear up. After, go back to inferno and farm a hellfire ring. This would imo be the best way to farm paragon levels.

For your info, my first signet dropped on the 4th leg drop i got. The second one dropped after like one and half day farming. Tried to farm a third one but its been over 3days farming without the drop. I am not constantly farming that signet, my monk is the one geared for that purpose. All other toons are lvl60 and farming their way up paragon levels.

My Barb amulet as approx. 150strenght/vit, 10% cc. 93% cd. and gf. I evaluated the price at a minimum of 800m. So id say your amulet might sell at a minimum of 400m.

posted a message on Rate your satisfaction level with the current Diablo 3.
''It's a boring game but i still play in hope it will get better in the future''

Waiting for over 10 years for this game, it is a big disappointment. Of course, i can't say that the game itself is bad. On the other hand, they released the game before it was completed/polished and removed a lot of features that had been announced. So, we have the right to ask for more. Just a few things that make this game crap as is now:

    1. Items: No balance between dual-wielding, 2h and sword and board. The only viable option for meel right now is dualwielding. Most legendaries are crap. Items can all be bought (except for hellfire ring) from the AH. There should be end items bind on player or something similar (with affixes forcing you into a build) to maximize diversity and bring more longevity to the game.

    2. Monsters: Few affixes and special abilities for monsters. It basically comes down to physical damage/resistance in most cases. Lightning and poison resistances are not needed (almost true). Balancing PVE is much about introducing affixes to counter most effective builds so that it brings balance. Thats not the case right now. Introducing curse affixes affecting the crit chance of a player for exemple would be something needed since ''crit builds'' are imba right now.

    3. Skills: There is not mopre than 2 efficient rune choices per skills. There is about 2-3 efficient builds per classes right now.

    4. Newbfriendly: Removed weapon swapping abilities, macros and brought this game to a level where even my grandmother could beat diablo on first try. I mean seriously, at least make it so that mp8 is fuckin hard with best gear and mp10 is almost unbeatable with best gear. Now, it's rather boring because monster at high mp levels don't do enough damage but have too much hp.

I am still playing and hoping that this game delivers what i am hoping for. Balance things up so that barbarians don't make 50% of the caracters database and that most skills have something usefull to bring in certain circumstances.
