Do beta players feel that their class equipment is usually the strongest and that they're pushed to use it, or is strength between equipment well randomized? For instance i'm not a huge fan of how the spirit stones monks use look but I'd never sacrifice looks for effectiveness, are helms just as good so far?
They made it easier to level early on so there could be set of raiders from the beginning. You need people to be in endgame for the game culture. That said TOR is a pretty solid MMO, especially the storyline. I found the gameplay to be awesome as well, though I played an IA who're considered the most fun because of the cover system.
Lets put up original builds and their philosophies up here. Everything is supposed to be viable in D3 so I want to see some melee wizards, discipline based DHs, healer monks, and ranged-Barbs!
I feel like the DH looks pretty weak solo simply because of the lack of room and therefore maneuverability in dungeons, which is key for ranged. That said I'm not in the beta so I can't say for sure.
I would like to see a DH WD combo in levels with higher AI. The WD seems able to entangle multiple enemies with his summons allowing the DH to unleash high overhead DPS. Since WD are considered the mid-range class(they say so in some bluepost) they should present unique combinations to teams that aren't usually seen in other games.
The only class I can think that might have some issues solo is the Monk. And that's just a matter of tuning the numbers really.
Since Monks are the most active classes(requiring combos) is it possible that they have equal potential as the others but are simply more difficult to use? Once again I'm not in the beta and looking for some insight from those who are.
There are attacks linked to your mouse buttons, you can click the monsters to attack them, or if you hold shift and click you can attack anywhere. You can also use the skills on your hotbar by pressing the button for that skill, which will cause an attack where your mouse is located.
Runes are no longer found items, they get unlocked by level, you can look at the progression on the new pages on the official site: http://us.battle.net...ian/progression
1. you continue on from your characters. there is no starting any characters over at all ever.
2. B
3. Yes, Shift + ability
4. No, why??
5. items, gems, and skills are your customization
6. yes, off your account page on battlenet
7. idk
1. Now I know why Diablo 3 has so much replayability. The original storyline will take several hours but the fact that you get to invest in the same character for all the difficulties will make me want to play it all the way through inferno.
4. just wondering
5. I know I meant facial features and such.
6. Thanks so much I think i'm gonna get it off battle.net so I can get it ready for midnight launch. If only I hadn't put that five down at gamespot.
7.I'll call Blizz and ask.
Thanks that was a huge help.
lol I have a couple more questions if anyone cares to answer them.
1. Do you hover your mouse over the enemy or do you have to click on them?
2. i)Do you have to buy/find runes or are they just like leveled up attacks?
ii)if you do buy find them then do you have to reAdd the rune each time to change the attack or are they unlocked upon applying the rune to your attack?
I would like this to be a thread for people to ask 'noob' questions without getting laughed at lol. I've got a few of my own for starters. I've played a little Diablo 2 before but it was around 9 years ago...
1.When you beat normal difficulty can you play nightmare with your normal character or do you have to start a new one back at level 1?
2.Do you: A )set your hotkey then click on the monster you want to attack to attack B )click on a monster(or hover your cursor over a monster) to select them then press the hotkey that corresponds with your attack?
3.Can a DH shoot an arrow where there is no monster?
4.Can you walk off the edge in areas with ledges?
5.Is there any customization for characters outside of gear?
6.If you get the downloadable version and have to uninstall it in the future is there a way you can redownload it?
This question is kinda tricky.
7.On a bootcamped Mac with Lion and Windows 7 which is it better to play on?
Which difficulty do you think you would try out first? I personally want to start at nightmare. I'm not a huge replayer and hope Diablo 3 changes that.
I've played a little D2 but I'm in the same vote. Just joined a few days ago and this forum is really great, if you have any questions people post back pretty regularly, so don't be afraid to post.

For instance is a DH with a Barb a working combo?
I'm personally wondering who beta players think is better solo, DHs or Monks?
