Really can't believe people didn't see this coming.

Yeah, doesn't matter how much stress test they do, they still have to draw the line somewhere between buying so much hardware that half of it's wasted after launch day, and having a halfway decent launch. I'm in, just waiting on char creation. It'll be ok.

Yeah, that may take a while, but we're past the authentication hurdle.

Cool thing (for me) about the stuff from the Asian launch is that it's not really spoilers for plot, since I can't read anything. Just cool footage of boss fights, etc, :D

    Boss looks easy.

This, even Andariel in normal D2 was a bit hard, that seemed rather easy...

He looks more active than Andariel was by far. I used to just clear the trash, then pull Andariel out the door and beat her up, or just shoot through the door till she died otherwise. No, he looks much more fun/engaging than Andariel.

Edit: Again, it's normal, difficulty is for people who are new to the genre and the game. The player in the video knew what (s)he was doing.

    Quote from fr0d0b0ls0n

Just download it, not hard to get the official link, and install it early. You usually don't need the cd-key for that for Blizzard games. You can't log to the servers anyway...

I think the downloaded version will require a license on Bnet (key) to unencrypt and install. My key is already there (AP/Digital), so I'll be able to install on the 14th, and log in and play at 12:01 AM PDT on the 15th.

    Quote from Mayne

Just thought about something I forgot to test during the beta. Hopefully someone knows.

If you play solo and bring up the menu, the game will pause. Will the game unpause during the 10 secs you have to wait after clicking "leave game"? And what about if you hit "exit D3"?

If you hit exit now and don't wait for the 10 seconds, your character is still connected for 10 sec or so, and can die.

posted a message on Jay Wilson: I think the fun is in playing the game, not working out how to play it.
    Quote from beingmused

More choices, and they can be done by actually playing instead of having to be set on paper before you launch the game.

And that's the key thing. Trying a build you think will be fine, but you get to Inferno and it fails, you can tweak it w/o rerolling. That's a HUGE improvement in my book. Also, using some skill combos might be really fun in NM/Hell that you might know wouldn't work in Inferno. Fun is where you find it.

posted a message on Gentlemen, Which female character is the sexiest?

How can you accuse other people of being dorks when you're in a forum for a game in development, writing on a thread about which female character is hotter. Jesus. We're all in this together.

    +10. So true.

    DH - Dat ass
Monk - cute, short blonde hair, doesn't wear much
Wizard - confident brunette, doesn't wear much
Barb - will break you in half, but fun
    WD - exotic!

Not necessarily in that order. I picked Wizard, but, they all have their appeal.

(I should mention that I'm married to a 5'11" woman, so I don't mind a big girl, as long as she's not nasty fat or something. Big != fat.)

The male wizard thinks he's the sexiest female

Yeah, wondering if the team that drew male belfs did him...

I don't get it? What is it that you call a "true" diablo fan? because you hint that people playing wow and sc2 are NOT "true"diablo fans... does that involve other games?
For instance, I'm playing lol, wc3, tf2 and l4d2... Haven't touched d2 since open beta weekend... Does that make me a "true" fan?

It depends, if you're a D2-like system nostalgic, then you're a true Diablo fan, because I have decided that D2 represents the nature of what a TRUE Diablo game should be like (and it happens to be the kind of system I enjoy).

If you think all those casual-catering changes are good, then you're not a true Diablo fan, because I said so.

    /irony
    [snip]

Anyway that's my two cents, hopefully you don't take this the wrong way.

Someone didn't understand the /irony tag?
