because firebird helm is a helmet and not a wizard helm. thats a different item class. arcane power on crit can only roll on wizard specific helms and offhands (thats why it goes on firebird source)

Anyways you dont need arcanepower on crit with fcurrent firebird setup - but i admit its nice to have for better coverage.

it is currently tagged as wizard because it belongs to a wizard specific class set.

so in general, if i start with blackhole and then drop hydra and blizzard, the 3000% damage should be applied in ~5 seconds and then snapshot the 30% from strongarms? there is no special timing required?

It might seem a little bit stupid but ye all talk about snapshotting the firebird buff with blackhole and strongarm.

As far as i understand it , you trigger the infinity dot of firebird in the time when the strongarm debuff is still active, this would result in an overall increase of firebird ticks by the % of the strongarms you got . (at least this is as i understand it)

So as i was testing it out, it seems i cannot reproduce this on a regular basis.

Either my timing is off or iam doing something completly wrong. However it is also difficult to really test this.

In general if i dont do anything on a RG except let the firebird tick, its about 80~90 mil. but if i push hydra, blizzard and blackhole on top of that it sometimes ticks up to 180 mil.

So since the blackhole damage bonus is added to my default 80~90 mil ticks i assume iam not snapshotting correctly (because if i did, the damage gain would not be that significant, right? - you cant apply strongarm bracers buff 2 times?!)

anyways, hope you understood what i mean.

Thing is: please explain that snapshotting to me, and especially how i can verify / test / train it in a controlled environment

If i had the time, i would make a a wiki for formulas and a dynamic blob graph were you can explore skill synergies / item synergies/ stats / and everything related to formulas like:

Wizard- > Blizzard -> Apocalypse rune -> fire element -> Legadary with fire synergy. e.g firebird set -> from there you could explore items which enhance firebird -> and from each of those items you could explore to other synergies . each item can be inspected with stats and each stat links to one or more formulas explaining its impact on various other parts of the tree, you could even regroup the tree to the context of anything. like attack speed synergies etc etc etc. (this is the stuff http://bailando.berkeley.edu/papers/infovis01.pdf for the animation, and the rest would be developing an idea how the community can provide the data nodes for the graph and their connections, (with weight for how many users agreed with that oppinion etc)

There could be hard fact connections between the nodes in the graph like : Wizzard -> blizzard spell or, attack speed-> increased your attack speed (explanation) -> link to formular for aps breakpoins etc.

or soft connections like. firebird set -> magefist (only if ring of royal grandeur is present in the previous graph ) and so on

the possiblities are really great..with that graph kind of system. its like a context base database without the easy of animation.

Problem is Time, to make the basic version work ... If i found a way to make this thing create the basic graphs itself - which is possible

so the community could extend on a correct basic model. that would be even more awesome ..

Doing this the right way is very difficult.. just opening a wiki for search and find would be easy. but hell, thats boring.

This graph tool should help people finding new stuff, without having to crawl through endless threads. - forum is cool also, but mostly for discussion. Of course its as of now still the best source for getting information and get help and insight on new stuff. But who knows, someone could find a way to improve this e.g eliminate the trolls

@DontUseMyName: Of course it triggers it, but you only have fire spells . thats only 5 percent
if you had any damagetype on your weapon but not fire you would gain 5% from that and 5% from your fire spells . thats a guaranteed 10% on every target (guarnteed means : 100% uptime)

What gem to put in helm in combination with evocation? (you're missing that in your guide)

From were i stand , having evocation only for blackhole seems a little bit wasted (it would be an awesome passive on a hellfire amulet though)

so put up a diamond in helm ? - its like 20 vs 31% cdr

Would you even stack cooldownreduction on gear if you chose to use evocation?

At the moment im in favour of glasscannon (instead of evocation) + force armor because it makes sense, as long as the -10% all res does not take you in the area where you take more damage as your maximum hp.so you get one shotted. It has a somewhat synergy.

this furnace has a bad damage roll, i would not put a ramaldni in there .

i was askinngn the same questionn yesterday , but with serpennt sparker and maximus .



point is, i tried both. with a 2,5k serpent sparker and a 3,3 maximus the sparker was ahead.

thats also what the community recommended to me

it rolled vit annd socket, so i decided to skip the ramaldni here , because well i wont gain much dps wise.

hehe jaetch , iknow its nnot good rolled, but it seems like 2h is really at an advantage at the momennt, but possibly yeah with sunkeeper it will be better, it also has slow attack speed.

This sunkeeper, or this Maximus?

Or none of these? Why?

I dont understand why the sunkeeper is so low in dps , although it has %dam and a really good weapon damage roll.

All in the context of my current firebird wizard , equipped with the maximus - would putting that sunkeeper in provide an advantage against that maximus?

what my fellow posters said is totally correct: get unity!

also : remove rog für unity and add another firebirds item

later go for string of ears, wiching hour and try to find a furnace

yes its wand of woh farming allover again

but i still dont have a woh either so.. it at least doubled my chances for an item i want
