The premise is kinda shaky. Bola doesn't scale very well with attack speed sicne you have to wait an unmodified 2 seconds to deal your single target damage... and spike trap only does damage when an enemy dies... The build might be viable on normal/nightmare except the runes require levels 50+. All in all at a mininium you'll probably want another generator or an efficent hatred spender,. chakram/vicious thow/elemental arrow come to mind, and even then the build lacks anything special to make it impress.
Bola shot does scale with attack speed regardless of when it activates.
I'm well aware that an enemy needs to die to activate spike trap.
The build will be viable in inferno, why wouldn't it? This is a perfect kitting build.
Why would I need another generator when I only have 1 spender which uses 1/4th of my hatred?
At 400% weapon damage in an AOE I'd say Sticky Bomb is quite efficient for its cost, especially when a skilled player like myself can heard mobs into Calitrops to maximize its damage.
Smoke bomb also does a lot of damage and synergizes well with Calitrops.
You don't see your horrible single target damage issue?
If you chain cast Bola on 1 target it will never explode... which means you're limited to the 182% weapon damage every 2 seconds ( plus human error delay in re-applying the Bola). Compare to un-runed Entangling Shot. at 1.5 a/ps (slower than a single hbow no dw/quiver). = 3 attacks in 2 seconds for 75% dmg each or 225% total, and thats the weakest single target generator, And spike trap will deal 0 damage single target.since its only on enermy death.
Admittedly single target encounters are somewhat rare, but even then you'll run into issues where its hard to put Bola up on more than a couple enemies without refreshing it accidentally ( unless they are very spread out in which case you're not getting much aoe benefit from Bola or Sticky bomb).
Which brings me back to my point that while Bola IS very good and does excellent damage you'll need a reliable/spammable form of single target damage to finish off weakened mobs, and you'll suffer dramtically Vs enemy suffixs like invulnerable minions and bosses like the Butcher which don't seem to have any adds.
Edit: Re: Smoke Screen's damage. Yea its pretty good, but its pretty much the least efficent way to convert discipline to damage and enemies will move out of it if you don't caltrop them in it. Wolf Companion or Sentry + Chain of Torment (or Spitfire) should out damage it easily even in AoE situations when you're going to be kiting repeatedly... Not to mention I question your ability to maintain enoguh discipline to vault, smoke screen and caltrop. Prep and Night Stalker help sure, but you're not innately sustainable let alone when you start burning disc to get away. All in all your build seems slow and inefficent to me.
It would rape AoE, but what are you going to do about single target fights?
What Lackies said is incorrect and misinformation. Bola stacks on a single target, it does not overwrite the last one applied and reset the timer. I have thoroughly tested this in beta since patch 2.
Fire and forget kitting, I have plenty in my arsenal to allow for movement. Bola shot also hits for very respectable damage and also stacks on single targets. I don't think it will be an issue.
This is a burst damage build when combining bola shot, sharpshooter and sticky bomb. Its not meant to have consistent damage.
It appears I was wrong about not stacking bolas... I could have sworn when I played in beta they didn't maybe it was just the bolas left after the mob died not exploding or soemthing., But w/e i can admit my mistake. In which case I guess its fine as your sole generator... I still think sticky bomb as your sole hatred spender kinda limits you on bosses, but the build isn't cripplingly bad as I origionally thought.

It's ok, I just get irritated when people spew out random stuff for facts but it takes a true humble person to admit they're wrong. I love mobility and this build is probably the most mobile I've seen thus far, can't wait to see how it performs!

I knew that, but its still only 180% wpn dmg, and you have no usable spender for single target.

Do you want to get scammed? Perhaps a nice keylogger?
"Just google "diablo 3 gold guide" and magical rainbow covered demons will assault your eyes."
This build would be amazing for AOE but as Mystic and Lackies have pointed out its gonna be really hard on a boss seeing as sticky bomb only does its dmg if the target dies, so only dmg to targets around the initial target.
If there are boss fights that have no extra summons then it makes sticky bomb useless.
Im more than comfortable kitting a boss safely with calitrops and use smoke bomb / bola for damage. Keep in mind a lot of bosses will have mobs supporting them so this build will still have its uses with sticky bomb.
Wonder how Enrage timers would effect this build. This is in regards to a boss with no extra mobs, if any, I dont wanna spoil things for myself by reading the new info from the guides they just put up >.<

Theres nothing wrong with my single target damage, people are just chosing to be blind to its potential. Since it was stated by Blizzard that CC does work on bosses to an extent, Calitrops + smoke bombing a boss for 150-200% weapon damage over 3 seconds will be a good addition to the constant bolas. Bolas are also not bad dps.
If I stand and shoot 4 shoots before the boss gets to me and then am forced to run for lets say 6 seconds that will do 720% weapon damage before modifiers. Every time I calitrop I can reapply 2-3 shots and rinse and repeat.
I also do think its lacking a bit of single target for hell and inferno, but we all have yet to try it, so who am I to say this. Anyway, i also think that replacing Vault with Evasive Fire runed with displace. More damage, 5 less yards, mostly infinite backflips. And as I said, those are just pre-game thoughts. (without being an a-hole grammar nazi, remove the i from caltrops.)

It's not more damage. Evasive fire can also put you in bad positions unintentionally so I avoid it. My revised build idea is this:
More damage on single target with Long Fuse instead of sticky bomb and it creates a much higher burst opportunity with less hatred spending due to killing priority targets. Flying strike synergizes well with Calitrops and does respectable damage for no Hatred and on a relatively short cooldown.

So you've finally agreed that your first build was overall crap. Anyway, the one quoted is much better, not my style. But still much better than the original idea.

No the first build is still great, this is simply a variation, I will be trying both.
I always loved the Spike Trap ability, most of my friends don't think that it will be viable though in inferno where as a DH you will not wanting to be up close and person. Thus not allowing much use of ST, but I still think that as the coefficient for its damage is amazing I want to eventually learn how to incorporate it into a build.
In my discussion with a friend who played D2 extensively, he said that It might be useful for kiting a champion pack into it at the beginning of a fight but then after that most likely useless. What is so great about ST is the multiple variations of almost any circumstance that they give us with runes. Hopefully you and me both brotha can be using Traps owning it up!

I don't get what you mean by up close and personal to use them, you can be as far as you want to lay a trap from a pack of mobs. Using calitrops and having them come to you is a DH's main strategy any ways. I'm as well hopeful trappers are a staple build of the class.

Bola Shot Spam on a ton of targets, throw out sticky bombs.
