I apologize this episode was a bit late, but you'll find out why if you listen in! It's a pretty decent reason and the next episode will be on time still. In this episode, we talked about the Runestone System, as Blizzard just recently officially released it, and the removal of the Talisman. In addition, we talk a bit about the upcoming event, BlizzCon! If you missed the tenth episode, you can check it out here. Otherwise, the eleventh episode covered the following topics:

its a shame they removed the talisman. i prefer a boring item drop with more opportunities for straight stat addition over choice upgrades for item places already filled. Thought an opportunity for more gameplay over quality may not be to the majority's liking (as far as mid to lategame over endgame comparison is concerned). Better endgame would be talismantastic
about "cookie cutter builds"..
i dont think there is one unless only 99.999999% of all 97 billion different builds suck and only a few stand out..
say you counter my build and someone else counter you, someone else counter him and then someone else counter him, since there are so many different combinations, after a while, say 73138 different counter builds, my build (or one of the 73135 builds before him) probably can beat the last build since his build is not at all the same as the guys who countered me or any of the other ones..
and thats only 1v1
unless only 0.000001% (that makes 970 different builds) of the 97 billion different builds are better than all the rest, i think you can always find a counter for whatever youre up against.
edit: edits
how many counted builds would be counteractive enough to make skill matter less in high standard pvp with endgame gear. i imagine their 97bil would round down to around 10 per class which is still really good! d2 had about 5 per class as far as unique quality and counter type were concerned.
Oh you went to preview expansion pack for SC2 at blizzard huh sixen, I guess that narrows down who leaked the teaser trailer

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.

I personally think there will be more than 10 viable builds come endgame. You have to figure while their indeed are 96+ billion builds per class, if you just count level 7 (Or 8 as mentioned in this pod cast) skills runes into the equation the number would drop dramatically. Than you have to just count the skill runes which are at all useful in PvP when added to a skill, surely some simply just won't be PvP geared. On top of that you must find what skills are most useful in PvP. All and all I think there are enough combos even between those factors to account for at least 25+ "cookie cutter" builds come endgame just concerning skills and skill runes. Each one of those builds may also have a certain play style which suits them best, so thus you form a countering system where certain builds with certain play styles begin to counter each other, this would be a great thing for the game.

I was wondering how the iTunes situation is looking? I saw a post a few months ago that it takes a few weeks for them to approve your podcast? Would be awesome to throw this on the ipod and listen to it on the drive to work!
I can't help but feel like there is something missing from these podcasts now.
It is actually hard to listen to these now because I want to chime in with my opinions on the subjects. Hopefully I'll find the time to still be in a few of them.

Find the time! I got too used to your nerdy voice and you're the only PvE specialist on the podcast team!
I feel like doing the "2008 thing" and start a petition about it

I think we're going to say screw it and try blip.tv. Apparently blip puts it on iTunes for us, and a bunch of other places too.
PVP with Barbarian confusing enemy: A good hit on a Player-Enemy makes the attackbutton and movement wierd. It could work, however Im not interested in PVP.
Woot sandbox builds. I'm hoping levels 1 and/or 2 for runes to be about as common as rare items drops (as per D2 chance), just for purpose of trying them out. i.e. so I can learn what I want my runes to be.
Correct me wrong but didn't they (blizz) say there isn't going to be anymore immunes anymore (as damage types go)

In PvE the alabaster runestone effect on whirlwind will be an interesting choice for crit builds.

Seriously though, the team on the podcasts are big PvP players in many games and that is why it tends to be a focus of theirs. I will do my best to represent the 90-95% of us that play Diablo for PvE content when possible.

Well, regardless to how Blizzard is designing the game (trust me, I understand it is a PvE game), Dennis and Kevin plan to spend a lot of their time playing in the arena as I feel many other will do as well. This is what makes the game fun for them.
As for me, I do not like PvP. I would prefer to kill demons than other players. Luckily for those of us like me, 95% of the game is catered towards us.
Let them be happy with their measly 5% of the game
But seriously guys, you have to talk about some PvE in my absence

Agreed! Rep for you!
PvE is one of the most challenging & fun aspects of Diablo, especially in Hell or Nightmare.
More so in groups than solo where everyone has to do his/her part to survive & get those uber loots.
Can't wait for new screenshots now that we've hit 1mil FB likes!

BTW, when Dennis and Kevin were trying to get the facts right about the # of runestone levels, it was killing me. That's why I need to be there
