Seriously! I recall my very first crawler game Gauntlet!
>_> I remember playing that with my brother as a kid. I loved that game.
But I agree with what you said. People are so easy to judge a game these days. I read a lot of forums, and the stupidity I come across towards Diablo 3 is incredible. As if it's impossible to enjoy more than one game. For someone like me who has kind of been craving an MMO but not really enough to pay $15/month, this is more than anything I could ask for. It's fun, challenging, and looks great.
Just read this post I came across on another forum... I mean seriously...
Ok, I did the whole deal with Blizzard, pay for 1yr of WoW, get into Betas and free D3.
On 5/15 I tried to download the game. It said I didn't meet system requirements, however ...I easily out do the max requirements (except updating my Vista - which I refuse to do).
Finally, I got it to download (after 8 hours of trying) only to have it stop and crash at 99.99%.
I started over with it on 5/16 - same thing.
Finally my husband just copied the files from his computer to mine and I was able to play.
~~
I loved D2, let me just go on record for that.
I AM glad that I did not actually pay for this game (would have continued to pay for WoW regardless).
It is D2 with a slightly different look. You go to all the same places, do all the same things, it's just...boring.
My husband is almost finished with the game. In fact, I would imagine that by time this is posted, he is done. He began playing it the afternoon of 5/15 - that puts total time played as about 20 hours. (between work, the kids, real life) Granted this is on the lowest level, but at the same time ......really? I have PS3 games that took longer to finish than that!
I found the most funny party "I refuse to update my Vista" lol.. that's why the game wouldn't install idiot. >_>
And here's a reply I got when posting in the same thread:
Well enjoy playing the same content with the same bad writing and voiceovers I guess.. .Oh wait the mobs have more health and hit harder so it's a WHOLE NEW GAME or something right? right?
Personally the terrible netcode response really sealed the deal (delayed click responses in solo play, not being able to log in etc etc). I won't pay 60 dollars for a single player game that can only be played with an internet connection.
I honestly don't know why I read the forums I quoted from anymore... the place is full of idiots white knighting their game of choice. You can't mention another game at all without getting people laughing at your idiotic choice to play something else.
LOL she loves the cartoon land of WoW, thinks D2 was good, but thinks D3 is boring! What a child or a person stuck in the past.
I got my CE and didn't have to eat a banana. Just one question, how are the servers doing lately? Should I wait a few more days to play without getting booted or errors or shit like that? Doesn't matter if I do, since I have other things to occupy me. Such as College Graduation for Associate's Degree in CAD. Gonna continue and eventually get a Ph. D. in Biomechanical Engineering and I could build prosthetics that will be better than the original limbs.
If you are getting licked with errors 3007 or 3005, you may need to go and buy a newer firewall/router to put in front of your Cable or DSL modem. Once I repelace my 3 year old one, all was smooth.
Well, half way through nightmare. still liking the game, but I'm sure of one thing. It's going to be a long time until I'm good enough to feel confident trying hardcore. Deaths have ramped up in a drastic way.

I'm with you on hardcore. Funny I felt the urgency to get through the game when the characters put in the pressure how time was of the essence. I found myself pounding through the game faster than normal, what was I to do? I had to save Sanctuary for the Gods sakes! Which of course got me killed more than I would have otherwise with my usual slower more methodical approach. I'm loving the game though, so worth the wait!
Well act 3 nightmare now, 5 death's in total. It's been a blast.. sigh now work.
EDIT: BTW Freddy I found 2 legendaries so far, one from a normal chest and one from a normal rnadom monster. One was in normal mode, one was in nightmare.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
I dont seem to have any problems with the sound to be honest. Did you set the sound channels to the highest option possible? I think that's supposed to help.
Remember that time that the only person to add me in Diablo 3 was VegasRage... JERKS
Dude, I send you a friend request based on the info you gave me...I play on the EU servers. You surely play on the Asian servers or what? Not that it matters, just one of us might lag major time if we play on each other's regions...
Lol that happened to me a couple of times as well!! And when I quit that game and join the public servers again, I join the exact same people...who's afk. Then I just went and play by myself.
Whats the big deal with playing with randoms? Generally they are immature/retarded/kids/shitty .... am I missing something? Why would you do that to your self.. why?

The sound channels thing is supposed to represent how many sounds can play simultaneously. Not the quality of the sound itself.
Supposedly if your sound card cant handle that, if can cause more lag.
I read somewhere that most on-board sound cards only handle 32, and that the 64, and 128 are for dedicated PCI sound cards.
Seems to be a reoccuring problem others are having too. I might just listen to Diablo II music while playing Diablo III lol.
If only we could make a mod or something so our own music would play in different areas.

I figured when I have time to play D3 properly and not just fart-arse around, I would reach out to people who I like on this website and see if I could play with them.
Get some mumble/vent/teamspeak going maybe.

I refer to randoms as join a public game with people you don't know. At least the people here are likely more enjoyable to be around and have a clue to what they are doing... big difference if you ask me.

Guys like Thasador and Maestro (and others) haven't been on for so long I think they may of actually died
You know when old timers don't come back online, even after waiting so many years before people even knew they were waiting... Now D3 is here... Haven't they heard?
Must be dead... IRL. Thats the worst kind of dead too.
I'm mostly soloing so far. With a follower since I started nightmare. It's been great so far. I did play a game with some random joins at one point, which was pretty fun and made me feel relatively skilled, and d one game with a friend from here, who made me feel incompetent. I'll probably keep soloing for a bit longer until I've settled on a build and practiced a bit more.
If anyone wants to add me though, feel free!

Are you on the US servers? I know some Aussies are.
