Honestly people need to take off their tin foil hats and ditch the negativity. If you're not interested and don't care to go the 2 hander route and alls you can do is find negative things to say about it then why bother coming to the thread? Are people so paranoid and delusional these days that they can't believe some people just want to be helpful and share something they have fun with and believe in?
Pretty sad. 2 Hander barbs are far from the majority so it's really nice to see what another 2 hander barb is doing to be sucessful within his own game play.
Don't mind the haters, I really enjoyed watching your video. I understand that you have a ton of gold, and crazy expensive gear, but it was still enjoyable to watch and get some insight on 2h barb. thanks for taking the time to make the video(s)!
I forgot to open my details page in the video I apologize and I added a screenshot here.
and Cygone is right it is affected by weapon damage + str. IAS only affects how fast you can seismic slam which doesn't make it very desirable although it does help the rage generation.
the reason i "hate" OP is because there is a very good chance he either bought the gold for $$ or played DH first/got carried in co-op and getting that much gold
I furnished a screenshot for you, as you can see I have almost 10k elite kills and 13m+ looted. Still think I bought gold? Also I never had a DH I rolled a WD at one point but stopped playing it. I farmed act 2 goblins with my friends until I was geared enough to go into act 3 alone. with my barb.
now the problem of him having so much gold is that these videos dont represent the real state of the class because as i said before everyone and their grandma know that barb is very good with top gear, but if you undergear content by just a bit you'll get raped
I disagree with this one, like you said everyone knows barbs are gear dependent same as warriors and rogues in WoW. The only difference here is that you don't just have to gung-ho in to enemies, you can kite them around. Like I have said earlier the defensive play style of 2h isn't for everyone but it is rewarding in its own right.
fun fact: guy has same amount or even more resist/hp than defensive barbs while still rockin' 90k dps, he has that good gear and gl to everyone thinking they can do act 3/4 as 2handed barb with 15mil invested
Hehe I wish. The shield block + armor adds quite a bit of survivability I also lost 200+ all resists when I went for more crit/crit dmg, IAS, and MF. As for the last bit it is quite contradicting however I know what you are trying to say but I disagree inferno act3 is def doable even with quite a bit less gear than I have. I wouldn't try farming act 4 though them subjugators are nasty nasty ;)!
I will say. After the patch, this becomes viable for people who don't have 100 million in items.
Decided to give it a shot with a POS 2h, 900 dps. Clearing Act III easily.
stats?
I'd like to know this too.
Also, how are you faring post-patch, SaracenS? I'm thinking about trying this.
Same. I only have 11k dps and really feel gimped using sword/board (although I can tank indefinitely now...). I used a 950dps 2hander last night and had some success, but only up to 15k dps *sigh*
Really thinking I'm going to have to regear my guy since 1.03, which is fine since it's actually enjoyable now...
This community is nothing more than a gigantic pile of cancerous anuses. The OP isn't bragging, just showing a 2H video. All the butt hurt internet heroes like Gnarf have to chime in and discredit everything because it's not their style of playing or because they don't have the gear. The OP wasn't showing a low budget build, and didn't advertise it as such. It's called 2H is viable, and he proves it. Had he advertised it as something like "2H Viable under 10m spent", I could understand flaming him.
You guys just continue on sword n boarding, falling asleep at your computer at the excitement of playing 100% defensive. I found the videos entertaining seeing the big numbers flying and stuff dying under 3 minutes. It may not be the most efficient way of playing end-game like other builds, but at least it's entertaining.
Alright, I'm totally digging this build. I went and spent my hard-earned RMAH profits on a 1200 DPS axe and I'm tearing up Act II. I literally (and I mean that by the definition) killed an Invuln Minions Sand Golem pack in less than 10 seconds.
After watching the videos, I decided to go spend 500k on a meh 2h with 1149 dps and some crit damage. Best purchase, ever. I've not had this much fun on my barb since I created him, I've yet to attempt anything really difficult, but it has at least made my act 1 farming a blast.
Now I just need to figure out a way to balance my survivability and dps, I 100% plan to progress through the entire Inferno difficulty using this build now.
Same, I found a 900 dps 2h sword with 180 str and attack speed (2k more dps than a plain 1100 dps 2hander) and I've been having tons of fun. I love it!
I am glad you guys are trying it out, that's what it's all about!
Yup, it's tons of fun in Acts I and II. Though in Act III I got owned. I guess I'm giving up too many defensives with the crit gear I had. I'll have to look for some more Vitality/All Resist/Strength/Crit gear later.
How are you doing with the build post-patch? Were you all that heavy on IAS? Would you still recommend IAS over Crit and Crit Damage? Also, I was thinking about trying Frenzy, but you said in one of your videos that you found Bash to have a longer reach. Do you still find this the case?
Sorry for all the questions. I've got the build down myself, but I wanted some info that I can't get right now since I just started this today.

No problem, I am using frenzy now since I can take hits (a lot of hits lol). I also switched out some survivability for MF gear, I am up to 310% with NV now. I am moving away from IAS although it still is a great stat its harder to get on gear. I am focuing a lot more on crit dmg/crit chance + MF gear with high STR. I am just facerolling stuff now its not that much fun :(.

A DH with gear at that price would almost be like athenes...
But some of us dont have friends that throws item our way and gets us started...
But props for video.
Who cares about the shitty PvP?

This is true, but most people still don't believe it, try it for yourselves!

It kind of sucks sometimes when you see a 2H with 1200 dps with +200 STR and another with 1400 dps with +60% Crit DMG.
Are there spreadsheets or any secrets?
