Sounds like many of the top streamers already bit it.
I cannot stop laughing....... if your "job" is to stream d3, what kind of fucking child would ignore the clearly stated license agreement and risk a ban? These streamers are like poster children for arrested development.
I hope the punishment is severe and sweeping, because the next time something like this emerges (and there will be a next time), hopefully more people will control themselves.
I just hope they'll be able to take actions against everyone who exploited this, and not just the streamers or really obvious ones (ie 500k bs, etc...).
They have ways of telling. Such bloodshard gains would be an easy tell, and they have protocol internally for sussing out who participated.
That being said, these streamers act as lightening rods for exploits. They spread the information on how to use a given exploit, they actively or passively encourage abuse. But when they get banned, it sends a clear message that everyone hears.
Banning Larry and his brother Joe Schmo won't make noise. Banning top streamers will always get this matter the attention it needs. So....the streamers have a crucial part on both ends of this spectrum.
I doubt it'll be significant since the sheer number of people doing this is now probably quite high (thousands likely) and will also most likely require a 'real person' audit.
In general though, if it smells like an exploit, don't do it. Pretty simple, really.
Really, get a grip. Blizzard should simply ban those people from season and the season after, finished.
But you guys crying over this screaming like groupies when Blizzard comes onto the stage and smacks dem evil abusers.... priceless.
On topic, disciplinary actions against top leaderboard players who used this is necessary, but I don't think they should recieve a full ban, like I stated.
Regarding non-season? The hell, what's non-season? Can you eat an 'Era'? Just get over it already, it is always like that and it will always be like that. No matter how hard Blizzard hits people, they come back and do it again.

Contributing in funds/rules embezzlement/manipulation brought down empire's, and blizzard is one of those giants in it's industry. If they do banned exploiters other than streamers , my hat's off to them. but if they are making an example, than it's nothing but another convertible capitalist company. and i really hope they don't keep an "asset" streamer done the exploit off stream as a overlook for justification.
Every person is not only held accountable for his action in society, but also his contribution approach. knowing and not doing anything is just as severe.
I know nobody cares but I'm just saying, if these people get away with it, i'll just quit the game... I'm not happy about it especially since it wouldn't be because of the game itself but it just would make playing after this pointless to me.
If you need a reason to quit the game (ie over what happens to other players), it's likely you never enjoyed the game in the first place.
My guess he is in a high competitive level , and exploiters getting unfair advantage , which makes his game play pointless. it's a chain reaction, he gets affected , other competition gets scares, people start fading away.
You get caught cheating in any competitive environment, you get banned. What Blizzard have done here is send a clear message. And I hope they trawl through the accounts and ban every single cheater.
i wish they would indeed ban every single gold duper, exp exploiter, shard exploiter, bot-er, multiboxer, and etc, but they just dont.
yea because they think till make them more money. that was a shady shady move on their part: officially ok-ing something that gives players a HUGE advantage over others because it requires multiple copies of the game.
Blizzard will do nothing, they never have in the past
What a moronic statement. Blizzard may not have taken the action you like in the past, they may not have caught as many exploiters as you would hope, but it is simply a ridiculously untrue statement to say they have never done anything in the past.
This exploit has something to do with blood thief? i hope just smashing them asap doesn't trigger anything bad? >.<
that's now how it works to even have to worry about it, honestly its not really a bug nor an exploit its how the multipliers work. GR40+ Multipliers
the guy killing it while the others are sitting in the GR gets normal bloodshard drops, the guys sitting in the GR get 3k-4k bloodshards, i mean cookiemanner screwed up, blizzard literally watched him in game and on stream before banning him. If they didn't stream it, no one would know and it would of gone on forever. streamers mostly get these bugs hotfixed, I mean honestly he didn't have to stream it for five hours straight.
and to everyone going ham, how about they ban the guys who snap shotted the strongarms bracers, (since they hot fixed the BK ring) but not strongarms.
This all falls under us still beta testing the game for them, i mean honestly they did sell us two untested verisons of the game and they expect this shit not to happen.
this game is full of issues, who honestly wants to sit there and write emails to blizzard about a free to play game. I honestly could careless. everyone complaining are people who cant even efficiently farm T6 and/or GR35+.
But only some self-righteous Social Justice Warrior...
12 words into your response and you've already proved that there is nothing coming up that any intelligent person would want to read.
Look, it's really simple. Yes it's the developer's fault if a game has bugs. But if you don't enforce any consequences for players who deliberately and repeatedly exploit these bugs to gain as much as possible, you're sending a very strong and clear message:
"If you find a bug, exploit the shit out of it, as fast as you can!! Get as much loot as you can before it gets reported and fixed"
And it is not good for the health of the game to send that message to the players.
Blizzard will do nothing, they never have in the past
People like you make everyone else look really smart. Thank you.
And for the rest of the doubters, it isn't hard for them to do lookups to see the huge discrepancies in blood shards to do a sweeping ban. If your profile shows it and APIs can display it, they sure as hell can and will find you for exploiting.

I doubt people will get permenantly banned for it. But, they should get rolled back or suspended for it which I suspect they may.
Blizzard will do nothing, they never have in the past
Cavity, sadly without them, development would decay.

multiboxing has been officially oked by blizzard, so gl with that.

should get a ban tbh seen some one the other day with 32hr play time with 120k bloodshards
