I hadn't een thought of that.
I wouldn't, the way they capitalised off WoW was horrible enough.
I fervently hope they don't try to con a new legion of fans.

it all really depends. if it becomes a good quality diablo game.(which it will or else theres going to be a riot at blizzard headquarters) and it also depends on how much it would cost per month. i think we will all pay for it at the store for any amount of money. i would pay 200 dollars for it at the store. (but thats a far streatch.) but we are all wondering if it a monthly fee. i mean if it like 20 bucks a month like wow is im not going to buy it. i think monthly fees are stupid. becasue why would you pay for a game at a store then pay extra a month for it after. i mean how much you spend on that a year. 240 dollars a year. thats stupid. so i would pay for it if it had a yearly fee of like 50 bucks. thats not that bad. just like 360 fee for xbox live.
*Cough or you could pay nothing for internet service like ps3 cough* I'd be fine with 50 bucks a year, but that's only because I'd constantly be playing it. Now, for people who might be gone a month or 2 here and there, that isn't so great a deal.
Yeah, I would force myself to be able to afford it, but it would suck because I would also need to buy a new computer and video card too. Well, hopefully I would already have a new comp by that time anyway, but still, I don't have much money.
I would end up paying, regrettably. I would not be thrilled with the idea at all, however I would expect improved server performance, better maintenance and staff. All around it would just end up amounting to a better online experience, which I would like to see. The D2 server's were incredible for being free... yes they had their problems at times, but all around it kicked your ass on most given days.
Just think how much better it could and should possibly be with all that extra dough to toss around year round.
I don't really want to chef up any money at all, but with the way things are going today.... Greed may overcome hard work.
I would also rather pay a yearly fee as opposed to monthly so I hope that's an option.
Come on guys... its D Fricken 3. If your reading this you know your going to p2p.
In the long run, when I consider everything, I think the right way would be to have an affordable yearly rate that everyone should have no trouble paying. Such as 65.00-85.00$. Anything higher would be greedy as shit!
Sadly, I am almost certain you will have to pay something. Either way, when we meet in PvP I'm going to stalk you mercilessly NOOB! ;p
As much as I love Diablo 2, I just could not see how I would want to pay monthly for such a game. The point of games is to pay one time, and play it for as long as you can. I played World of Warcraft for a year and quit recently only because I cannot afford it. I would much rather have a game I do not have to subscribe because I know that I can come home, play the game, and then get off any time I want knowing that it would not cost me anything. Subscribing to the game just makes you want to play it more in a shorter period because the cost is more beneficial for the amount of time you put in for the price you pay for the amount of time you pay for. Anyways, a game you do not subscribe for means a game you can play any time, where as a game you have to subscribe to, means the moment you stop subscribing, you cannot play it anymore till you get money. Its not about how much it is, its just bills for school, car, and insurance come before anything else. No room to spare with a part time job that pays very little.

qft, i agree 100%. Paying would mean that i would feel like i had to play the game. I want to play it when i want to. If you pay to play it becomes a chore... not fun
You could always use Wirt's Leg as a substitute.;)
But I voted yes because I have been waiting for Diablo 3 for too long.

But being me, I would probably pay. Unless the game turned out really shit.
