The wings are equippable. More than likely they will be a shoulder slot item with no stats on them. Purely asthetic item for fun only. When you go into the game to slay demons, you will likely not be wearing your wings, but instead armor.
Not entirely sure I want to pay 40 more dollars for some wings and dyes. The banner should have some kind of glow/smoke effect or something to make it really stand out.
While the collectors edition does come with some nice stuff, I'll be passing on it. The regular version will be all I need to enjoy D3.
The USB + base is neat, but I already have D2 attached to my B.Net account and it only takes about five minutes to download and install it on any PC I want from there. Artbooks are great, soundtracks are nice but I think I would have prefered them to be digital as opposed to hard-copies. My biggest concern is the potential price difference - I forsee a pricetag of $100 or possibly even more.
I'm not a collector of games, I play games. I'll live without my angel wings and extra dyes just fine.
I don't usually buy collector's addition of a game, but I'm actually considering this one. I was never much into the WoW pets (I forgot to bring them out 90% of the time) but I like asthetic stuff for my character (I'm sure most will disagree, but I always wished WoW had some kind of "constume" feature). I guess it will come down to how much money I have at the time
As for how the in-game items will work. My guess is that they will take up an inventory slot, be infinite use, and each character would get one on character creation (similar to account-bound WoW pets).
I'm confused. I'm only part way through book two of sin war, so I definitely don't have a great knowledge of the lore. But how does it make sense that a human in D3 will be able to have angel wings? Are there other non angels that bear them? It seems like a cheap and cheesy exclusive item(even if it is only cosmetic) to have in the game solely because it is 'cool'. Don't get me wrong. I think it will look awesome, but I also think it trivializes the story of the game.

I feel the same. I'm going to play the monk first and I'm worried the wings will look silly

Soooo... if we get wings with the CE, does that mean we are actually getting an angel companion?
