So the Three all have their own domain, or whatever you want to call it, that is associated with them. Diablo is Terror and Ball is Destruction. I understand those. Destruction is obviously used to destroy your enemies, and terror is used to make them fear you and flee:
You destroy your enemy
You terrorize your enemy
but you hate you enemy???
Doesn't make any sense. The lesser evils are more focused on these subtle and indirect ways, like Lord of Lies and Lord of Sin, but where Diablo and Baal are focused on direct effects, Mephisto is not. So what do I think?
I think that destruction remove their enemies life, terror removes their courage, and Mephisto should remove their hope. And thus a title like "Lord of Despair" would be more fitting.
Now I'm not saying that Blizzard should change this, I merely think that hate was a strange choice. But I guess it sounds cool.

Metus, Odium and Excidium. Terror, Hatred, Destruction.
to distill terror in the souls of men, to distill hatred in the hearts of men, to enact untold destruction upon the world, to infect all of man kind, to turn brother against brother, father against son, the rightious shall fall before the wicked, the rivers shall ran as blood, the skys will rain down fire.
wow, a little biblical, but Mephisto actually says most of that stuff.
while hatred doesnt seem as cool or powerful as the others, it can be used very effectively. Diablo and Baal seem more hands on, Mephisto seems more like the type who is a preverbial puppet master, (with those long arms and fingers) control people and watch the events unfurl. He did after all corrupt the entire order ofthe Zakarum, save Khalim.

Yes, but Mephisto isn't going to have a very big use of his powers in a direct confrontation, while enemies will flee from Diablo and, well, get destroyed by Baal. Hatred is slower, a more discreet form, and that's why I think it doesn't fit a prime. Something instant would be more appropriate I believe.

think of that:
the majority of his minions (the undead) have a big hatred against all living. Not good enough? ^^
Plus spreading hatred among ur enemies (causing them to hate each other) can really cause more trouble than a frontal attack. I think thats why hes the oldest of the Brothers and the leader of the Three. Hes really cunning and perfect for the job.
ok they may have made a mistake or they may not but still they dont need to change mephs name. although if they did change it they should change it to Meph lord of suckiness cause hes like the easy boss to kill on whole game even tho andy and duriel come first if ur the right lvl u can pown meph alot easier than the other 2.
Baal, Lord of Destruction (Excidium) The soldiers of Baal seek the undoing of the universe. They strive for ultimate disorder and destruction, and to this end covet the destruction of all they behold. Order is abhorrence to them and these creatures are the manifestation of the forces of chaos.
Diablo, Lord of Terror (Metus) Using illusion and fear as their greatest weapons, the attendants to Diablo are formidable adversaries. They prefer to wait for their opponent to display a moment of weakness before they attack. Equally dangerous in the dark or in your dreams, they are the fears of man made flesh by Diablo’s will. These nightmares lurk at the edges of mortal perception from the moment that you take your first breath - and they long to be with you when your take your last.
Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred (Odium) The legions of Mephisto are driven by a hatred of all living things - especially those who are pure of heart. He counts as minions both the walking dead, who forever seek vengeance upon the living, as well as a host of demonically corrupted creatures whose twisted limbs and misshapen bodies leave them in eternal agony and rage.

Lord of Hatred is perfecto for Meph, i think that hate is important because without it maybe there will be no destruction nor terror, but i also think that without the existance of terror, destruction and hate anyone of this evil feelings would exist, they need of each other to exist...

But seriously, hatred goes against the Bible. And as the good book says, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor."
to distill terror in the souls of men, to distill hatred in the hearts of men, to enact untold destruction upon the world, to infect all of man kind, to turn brother against brother, father against son, the rightious shall fall before the wicked, the rivers shall ran as blood, the skys will rain down fire.
