well... Whathappens when the devil dies? does he go to hell? I think maybe he will live again now that the worldstone is gone and maybe some uberdemon sacrifices himself to let diablo gradually consume his body and soul. aAnd maybe... no I dont have a clue:rolleyes:
we considering his essence (or soul if you will) is in the abyss, id go with summoning spell, or he along with his brothers, who are trapped with him find their own way out. no one stays in the abyss for long they always seem to get out.

I think theres only two way that might make it good but their are several good ones but the ones i agree with is that Cain has been the evil one the whole time and we have been killin off his game for him and he turns on us or just keep it going by ramming a soul stones in our head lol ... sry for brief explanation i have to go haha ...

SICK...SILVER Inferno Crusading Knights ... Coming to Diablo 3 Realm Near You!
i'd go with the destruction of the worldstone bringing back to Sanctuary all kinds of Evil that were trapped there. Since the consequences of the destruction of the Worldstone were unknown theres enough room to make it happen Might aswell count on the demon we had in Diablo 1 expansion (what was his name again?).
I agree with Elfen. Some evil entity will bring them back much i nthe same way as the demon Izual was imprisoned in was summoned.
I'll bet that the adventurer eventually kills either Belial or Azmodan, and the other one that survives panics and brings back the Three, and in doing so loses all the power he had acquired.
Or perhaps there are other planes of Hell with other powerful Evils that we (or perhaps everyone, Heaven included) have yet to encounter.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

I like that little story. I think that would make a good game. You go and face against Belial, you kill him. Azmodan is next and in that act he escapes like how tal rasha escapes in act 2. act 3 you find the corpse of Azmodan in front of memphisto. Baal and diablo escapes to hell to ressurect their armies. and so on and so fourth. I dunno, sounds a little bit like the story of Diablo II LOD.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
Well with the worldstone shattered, the boundaries between hell, heaven and earth no longer exist. You can bet at least one of the 3 prime evils will return...although i hope its not mephisto. He is so lazy he just floats around!
diablo 3 will not be unfolding the story after the worldstone destruction. It will be pre-diablo 1. It will have to do with mankind being involved in the war between heaven and hell...the "sin war" you can hear about this as far back as the story tomes in diablo 1.
what about.... what if our heroes some how find a way to chase the prime evils to wherever they are to finish them off for good, and they have to fight through many different acts and monsters to get to them, and diablo, baal, and meph dont get resurrected at all but chased down and killed off!?!?!?

how will diablo be revived, how can he be revived if he hasnt died yet. to be revived you kinda have to die.
you want to talk about prequel story lines thats cool but read the threads please.
if the thread was How will Diablo be in d3 or something to that effect as it is vague, but good as it mentions diablo and d3, it allows people to argue/ or suggest ideas for both a sequel and a prequel, revived, implys sequel.

it wud be a bad idea to make a prequel. think about the logic of it. diablo has scrolls n stuff 2 learn spells...diablo 2 has a skill tree and many items unlike diablo. lod has even more stuff...so wut happens if we go to a prequel. thats like a gamer going back to before christ. makes no sense.

Let my sword draw the blood of our enemies,Let my magic rain destruction on those who might seek to harm us, Pray my bow the deadliest of them all, Oh Blessed the hammers i use to purge these demons, Those of evil will now serve the light as i return them, My cunning and trickery will be thy fall with a well place trap.
Oh, Baron Carloseus lead the way to our victory. If we fail we may rise again stronger. The Slayers will find the way.

Arguably, but he looks better than Baal. Was anyone else as surprised as me when you realised that he is not sitting in a chair in the intro movie, but standing on his legs?
Zombie Diablo? Bleh, would ruin Diablo's badass looks

i dont like how Baal turned out in LOD, he looked cooler in D2, in the cinematic where diablo assumes his true form, Baal looks awesome.
yep zombies should be zombies, diablo should be diablo.

My best guess is that it will ahve something to do with the destruction of the world stone and Tyreal being there.
Watching the cinematic of Tyreal destroying the stone you see what appears to be souls escaping the stone. The hero you played has left the area so im doubting they could pull off the whole, you become the badguy, thing again. However an infusion of the Prime Evils souls with Tyreal would make for one very bada$$ Boss, and very cool looking as well. The fact that Tyreal is a very powerful agent of "heaven" could make this extremely unlikely but as Blizzard has proven many times with their games and work, just about anything can happen.
I would love to see what their designers could come up with as far as a demon possesed Tyreal would look like.
Theres my two cents but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
