get a desktop for your gaming needs and a mac laptop for school or whatever (get with the scene, cmon! :P), from what ive heard around here is that you can presumably make a great desktop without breaking the bank.
but seriously, its for the battery life, macbooks can last hours on one charge whereas my HP lasts about 30 mins...
but i want a netbook for school

Remember the String of Ears
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
WFrom the best of my knowledge though, Mac parts are not upgradable (ie have fun shelling out tons of money buying a new Mac when your old one becomes an expensive doorstop
Oh and as far as the 32 and 64 debate; won't matter with Windows 7 as it ships with both a 32bit and 64bit version. Even if you buy a pre-built system most companies offer a free upgrade to Windows 7.
Not entirely true. iMacs and Mac minis are for the most part non upgradeable, but Mac pros totally are. Each internal component is in a neat little drawer that you can pull out and replace without mucking around with wires and stuff. Still, buying a Mac for games isn't a financially good idea, unless gaming isn't the main function of the machine.
As for game selection, Macs can run and Windows OS. For 64 bit, OS X 10.6 can boot into either.
All Apple products are for morons, much like only people with small dicks drive hummvees.
I'd say flaming people for choice of computers is for people with no life. Seriously, wtf is your problem? Any can see macs are over priced for the hardware, but they are excelent computers. I have Windows and Mac, and both are good for different things. Overall I perfer Mac OS X to windows, because it seems more fluent. But really, the Mac/PC thing is so 1990s. Get over it already.

D3 Pros: Outdoors environment, night time environment, female Barbarian, rune spell system, the Wizard class
D3 Cons: Fantasy architecture, fantasy armor, fanstasy weapons, no shaders.
Its very interesting to see everyones opinion. Obviously i think its a very personal decision.
As for me i will be building a rig for D3 specifically (Win7 64bit), but only when theres a release date. So for gaming, ill definitely stay true to windows.
However, Ive been reading alot of the links posted here and others. I made the conclusion of buying a macbook pro for education ,business, pics and music. Because im attracted to their design overall.
Apple is not made for the hardcore gamer thats for sure. But if i run into someone in D3 with one ill be sure to give him/her my respect.
As far as Win7 user im still shaky about it because its just an upgraded vista.
So ill probly stick with XP at the least.
Edit: Heres a nice article XP vs Vista vs 7 gaming comparison charts.
It has absolutely nothing to do with being (un)stable.
Have you already forgotten how it took them longer to get Flash on 64-bit platform than what it's taken Blizzard to develop D3? It wasn't the first and sure won't be the last "minor issue", and if something as trivial as that isn't supported at all, the sharpest among us could draw some conclusions. I'll check back in a couple of years, but everyone buying a 64-bit system for home use is just wasting money based on insufficient brain activity.
I'm not even gonna bother with the "runs stuff" argument. In case you weren't aware, operation systems also have other problems than just freeze-crashes where you lose all control.
Uhh, 32-bit support is actually going down nowadays.
I'll agree though, that 64-bit drivers for XP are a pain, but for Vista and 7, they're just as easy to find and install.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
I prefer PCs because I love building my own computers, upgrading their components, overclocking, tweaking, and generally messing around with their insides.
I have the official release version of 32 bit windows 7 and i can just say its freaking awsome the only prob i have is itunes 9 doesn't pin to the damn dashboard thingy. but not so much a problem. It runs super smooth ON A MAC MIGHT I ADD my mac os crashed 4 times reinstalled and now its freezing and ownt let me run anything. But my question is HOW IS LINUX UBUNTU?... i dont know much about those and would like to see if they are better or worse or whats goin on with themm and wat bout chrome os?

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
I am cheese. I am loved by all. I go great with everything. Other foods hate me because I take all the glory. Like Nachos..Their just jealous cause no one eats them unless Im there. Shit..I even ruined broccili's rep. Broccili kept talkin shit so I was like. " You know what?, I think I might melt myself on some Broccilli. See how those humans enjoy that green [sexual slur censored] now." Shit...Now,People dont even touch him, unless Im all over that shit! Ahhh..Its not easy, being cheesy.. Peace. Cheese Out.
Well this debate has been talked about since the beginning of time.
Windows- has customizable features with it, more open to viruses, plays most if not all games.
mac- alot of bang for your buck or alot of programs in the entertainment area, not as open to viruses but still can get them, plays some games but not alot of them.
linux- ive messed around with linux. i like linux because it is open source, which you are able to change just about anything that your little heart desires. but the problem alot of people have with linux is that its complicated to use at first. which is why alot of people dont want to use it. linux i think is a great os system. and i would suggest it at least once for people to mess around with.
but my personal opinion is windows, cause i hate the mac pc systems. i like to go gut computers out. but cant really do that with mac. and i hate their prices. really....some macs are 1,000 dollors new with all you get in it. I can build a computer and surpass those macs with 1,000 dollors.
Yes, Macs are over priced. For what in inside a Mac you will pay more.
Something a lot of people don't know about is that Apple has a refurbished section on their website were you can get obscene discounts some times.
I got last years top end laptop (4gb ram, 15 inch screen, nvidia 9600, 2.53ghz proc) for more than $1000 off the original price.
The computers are always in brand new condition, too. The way it works is that if some one returns a computer with a faulty part, they take all the good parts and put them in a stock pile. When they have enough parts for a complete computer they put them in a new case and sell it for 15 - 50 % off the list price.

Can't do any of that with a Mac

Stay awhile, and listen.
It isn't even in alpha test phase yet, you can sleep well, you wont miss the release anytime soon
