Well, I've been involved in a lot of RP-ing recently (Diablo, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, The Matrix, World War 3), and have decided that I'd like to try starting my own. While thinking about it, I basically came down to two possibilities...
A Stargate RPG, in which we explore the adventures of SG-7, a team of inter-planetary explorers in the modern-day US Air Force who travel through the Stargate to other worlds, meeting other cultures, fighting against the Goa'uld (and possibly eventually the Ori), learning of the Ancients, and generally having interesting mission after mission. And we would of course run into characters from the show on occaision.
Or...
An Aliens RPG, set within the futuristic universe created by Ripley Scott, James Cameron, and HR Giger, full of it's dangerous and oddly beautiful creatures. We would play a team of Marines, sent to stop the spread of the Xenomorph (Alien) creatures throughout the Galaxy, by the Weyland-Yutani company for reasons of their own. We would learn startling secrets, have terrifying and action-packed encounters with the creatures, travel through space to exotic worlds with state-of-the-art technology, and explore the possibilities of a future populated with Androids and Aliens.
SO. MY QUESTION IS THIS: Which sounds more fun to you guys? Stargate or Aliens? Would any of you be interested in playing, and if so, which? Whichever one gets the most votes (assuming I get a decent number of interested parties) will be created and I'd hope that some of you would come and join up for the fun.
Alien vs Predator already exists why do you need another one. And since that's a great game I vote for Aliens. As long as they totally ignore Jetrall's cliche story and make up something else.
i'd rather keep Aliens (+vs Predator) action games. I still love playing the Predator and occasionally eating human skulls as an Alien. Anyway, i dont really like the idea of Sci-Fi RPGs since they're rarely good (Knights of the Old Republic and Fallout the only 2 good examples, really).
Aliens sounds good to me. Nobody f*cks with the marines, baby!
It would be like starcraft, ready to roll out and frag the alien scum!!

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.

1) Who said Aliens vs Predator? I said Aliens.
2) You know I was talking about an online, text-based RPG run by me. Not a computer game made by some gaming company, right?
3) Thanks for insulting my story. My respect level for you just dropped by about 75%.

See #2 above.
As a result of these two misunderstandings, I am discounting their votes. (So it's currently 8-4 in favour of Aliens).
I don't expect everyone to like it, but to say that it would be good if it weren't for my story is pretty personally insulting. You could've at least said something more like "if the story was reworked".
Additionally, the idea is not to make an actual computer game, but an online text-based RPG. As far as I know there is no Aliens RPG, so saying that there already is a game doesn't make any sense.
This thing happening or what. I want to frag some alien scum!! Plus making characters and their backstories is oh so fun.

So... what'll it be?
Fuck you, I'm a dragon.

Yeah, I actually already know all about that game. It looks pretty damn kickass, IMO.
PS: So far it's 5-2 for Aliens.

What I am saying there is a game already and I believe there is no need for any others. No matter who made them and why.
I think the story is cliche. That's just an opinion. You can't expect EVERYONE to love everything you do.

I'll set it up and post up a link here. Additionally, I'll send PMs to those who voted. Gimme a few days to get everything set up.
